History Of The Statue Of Liberty

This Statue represents Thirty-nine Baltimoreans who died in the battles Lady Baltimore commemorates. This occurred between Sep. 12th and 15th in 1814 and plans for the monument in their honor began not long after. This statue represents the city of Baltimore. During the weekend I went to visit the replica statue and made an evaluation. The texture looked to be smooth her dress looks to be loose fitting and draped there are multiple lines and her hair looks soft, the statue looks to be showing motion as she holds her arm up with a perfect balance. She has a crown that sits on her head, the color looks to be fresh and clean being as though the new statue is only 3 years old. I saw a lot of space around the statue. I thought the Statue looked beautiful and I am honored to have seen it. The Statue of Liberty, also known as Lady Liberty, for me is the most intriguing part of New York City. It is a symbol of hope, freedom, and a better life in the United States. It is widely known that Lady Liberty was the first thing immigrants saw when they came to America, this architectural structure was a symbol of hope and freedom. What intrigues me the most is, Why would France just give us a an expensive copper statue? I never understood this until right now, everyone knows what she symbolizes, she is the Statue of Liberty. The word 'liberty' is related to the word 'liberated', which means to free. For example, U.S. soldiers helped 'liberate' Jews from the concentration camps in Germany after World War 2. The statue was given to us to represent freedom, the concept on which our great country was born on. Not just any freedom, a true freedom, a freedom in which we are not subservient to a king. In a sense, we are being liberated from being servants to the kingdom. It is our country and we want to protect and defend it because we are fighting for a cause, not just some person who wears a crown because of the family he was born in to.

This gift that was given from France and it can represent many things. Most importantly the Statue of Liberty is a symbol that represents freedom to the citizens. At first glance the monument signifies the importance of respecting the soldiers of the United States. The statues on top of the monument are made of gold. The statues themselves represent the soldiers. The soldiers, in my opinion, are depicted demi-gods as they stand tall above the park. The monument also acts as a water fountain. Perhaps, with the addition of the water fountain, it was meant to symbolize freedom. The soldiers that were on the ship were there to protect the rights and morals of the United States of America.
