High school is one of the most important lessons that any kid can have. High school has taught me many important lessons for my future. I learned how to have responsibility, and not care what people think.
In high school, you actually have to be accountable for your actions, and do your work to pass classes. Teachers rarely give breaks, but when they do, they are earned. I got by grade school with no problems getting all “A’s”. Junior high gets a little harder but you are still babied to an extent. I learned most of my important values in high school when I had to take responsibility for myself. This year I got it together and I am aiming to do very well and hopefully my goals become a reality. I have started studying for my tests as well
One thing is for certain, high school wasn’t that easy. One must find what works for them throughout their four years of high school if they are wanting to graduate and go onto college. There are many positive aspects about being a high school student such as, meeting new people, learning material you will use in your later life, and having fun. However, there are some negative aspects about high school made me learn, and not necessarily the easy way. I’ve learned many things throughout high school but the most important are, time management, motivation, and work ethic.
High school is always considered some of the best years of life. Students live with their families, see their friends almost everyday, and participate in the activities they love with the people they love. It has enough freedom for the student to decide how hard they will try, but it also has just the right amount of restrictions that parents can step in to make the student work. High school also gives students many opportunities to succeed and keep letting them try again if they fail. For example, a math teacher may allow a student to retake two test throughout a semester, but if the student proves that they are trying in the class then the teacher may allow them to retake a few more tests. Also, schoolwork is not tedious or lengthy,
My parents have said to work hard and do my best in school. I never understood why until I got older. The reason they told me to do my best in school was because they wanted me to think about school and my future. Both of my parents didn't get the chance to go to college. They both came to the United States looking for what most people come to the United States for ‘The American Dream’. They wanted a place where they could raise their children and find a stable job. Well what they had planned didn't work out. They found physically demanding jobs with low wages. I watched as they came home tired and stressed. Even through all the hardships they still maintained a positive attitude. They have pushed me to get better grades and to succeed in school.
I was very involved at my high school, so I was constantly busy and rushing to the next activity. I’m not sure how I did it, but I balanced the tennis team, volunteering at school and community events, attending meetings for various clubs, and my actual schoolwork. A lot of my time was also spent at my work: the Big Thrill Factory. The laser tag, bumper cars, and arcade games made it a fun job, if you could get past the loud music and screaming kids. My paycheck didn’t go much further than getting me gas, but I made tons of friends, and gained experience and communication skills from working the front desk. Whenever I had free time, I loved spending it with friends, going for walks, and enjoying the outdoors.
High school is an experiment to prepare young people for the adult world. Having to come over to High School from Midlle school was a huge transformation. Having to do a great mass of home work each night, is hard. But the only hard thing is high school is knowing that you cant graduate. Being in my shoes Freshman year of High School is very hard, but I knew what to do to be successful and achieve great things.
Through the school years I have been to two schools. Some of my years were near-perfect but, others were a train wreck. I would have to say that my worst school year was sixth grade. Thinking back I have found many issues that lead me to think the year was a train wreck. First off, in the first semester I had an I.S.S. which stands for in school suspension. I regret doing what I did to earn that because it was as boring as a sack of wet sand. But as my wise 8th grade teacher Mrs.Moncada once said “You can make any choice you want. But, you are not free from the consequences that come with that choice.”
High school is a very interesting time in your life. These are truly the years in which you transition into adulthood and begin to have a greatened sense of self-determination. You must take this as an opportunity to explore your world and yourself. Entering high school is the beginning of a whole new learning experience. Transitioning from middle school, high school presents more classes, students, and a bigger campus. It brings new expectations and responsibilities to each of us. High school also offers fresh chances to make new friends, try new sports and activities, and really explore who we are as individuals. The goal is to maintain good grades, score high on the SAT test, and keep a positive attitude so colleges and universities will accept you. Of course it's not as easy at sounds, but it's achievable. It requires a lot of work and dedication to every subject. Some students breeze their way through while others live in misery trying to pass their
Throughout elementary and middle school, I thought of high school as a terrifying place, full of responsibilities and sleepless nights. However, as I went to freshman year I realized that high school was way more than that. Being in high school is not scary, nor hard; High school is just the place where all your dreams come true off of your hard work. It also has the power to make you see things around you from a different perspective, which will undeniably make you attached to everything in it. Yes, high school should always be enjoyed nonetheless; it will never cease to throw curveballs at you and you always have to be prepared to overcome it.
For the first time I walked through the Junior high school gate, I realized how big was our school, and I was glad to really became a middle high school student it wasn’t a dream anymore. But since I got into the middle school, our homework became more and harder so I took more time on studying than in the elementary school. We have many projects to work on in every subjects, things we have to learn are harder too. But I like Junior high more, There are more things we can do, such as play on the field during lunch time, choosing what we want to eat every day, or even buying things in the store. So I am pretty happy about coming to junior high school.
I know high school has been a very interesting experience for you. You get a knot in your stomach. It’s difficult to describe a jumble of fear and sprinkles of nervousness with a side of excitement. There’s a lot of uncertainty and expectation in the air, and I suppose that’s what makes it so exciting, but equally as frightening. A fear develops because you’re afraid you might not find the answers to these questions, or when exactly will you find them and you may not like the answers at all. The only things you can control are our ability to work your hardest and do your best. High school has definitely had its highs and lows and many confusing experiences in between. High school has taught you many things, both academically and emotionally.
High school is a place for broadening personal horizons and getting out of your comfort zone to try new things. I began doing this my freshman year when I went ran for class government. I never imagined that I would end up going out for class government being considerably quiet compared to the rest of my classmates. When the results came in I did not have big expectations; however, I ended up receiving the vice president position. Getting involved in class government really expanded who I was. It taught me how to be a good leader. I believe this is why I have been the president of my class the past two years. Additionally, it has taught me responsibility and communication skills that I use in my everyday life now. My junior year I took on
Being a high school student has never been easy. There are expectations to receive exceptional grades, be involved in many activities, and keep a part-time job. Surviving in high school requires many skills and qualities to make your time easier. Work ethic, perseverance, patience, and responsibility, are characteristics I feel I possess as a high school student and future college student.
Hello, incoming freshmen to be honest, high school is not like how it's seen on television; which I thought was funny when I entered high school myself 4 years ago. High school is just a big divisive building where you gain a lot of knowledge, but also meet many great friends and people. I enjoy public schools over private schools because public schools let you have more freedom and the freedom to express yourself. Also at many private schools they assign strict dress codes that takes away from being able to expressing yourself because everybody's dressed the same. Over all my years at this high school Cleveland I have learned to take classes to you truly enjoy, stay social with everybody in your school, and have a great time while you're here because 4 years will go by quick, trust me.
Once a child graduates from elementary school and goes on to high school, he or she is already molded into the person he or she will be for the rest of his or her life. Sure all kids become more mature within those four years, but their values are still the same, and in some cases even stronger. In most circumstances, a child will use what they learned in the past to make decisions inhe future. High school, however, is important for other reasons as well. High school is the very last step before a student can enter the realm of higher education. Therefore, high school is essentially what prepares a student to go on to bigger and better things. High school is where
