Reflect upon the statement, as health service manager of residential care facility, I agree that the impact of the current development to practice education in the health care sector is significant. As the part of health care, residential care is unavoidable not to face the same challenge. The relevant explanation and discussion will be outlined in this paper. There are three major issues identified in residential care section due to the current development, including limited clinical placement, shortage of mentors and supervisors and diversity of students/ trainees. Firstly, lack of clinical placement to accommodate the increased number of students is clearly indicated in the SA Health report (SA Health, 2014), apparently it is not only an issue within Australia but also other countries. - Government has provided sustainable access and funding for people to develop skills and knowledge to enrol the courses that are related to health care so as to relieve the pressure in workforce of health care. However with this change, there are more students enrolled, which causes a significant growth in the demand of clinical placement. - Aged care section has been deemed as an essential part of clinical placement for nursing students. However, the residential care organisations with appropriate facilities to facilitate students are inadequate, which limits organisations to accept students. - Also, financial reason is another contributor. There is no supplement or financial
The care home needs to have staff that are trained and have a Health & Social care qualification. Also staff must not discriminate the religious/ cultural values of the service users. The manager of the care home also needs to consider female staff looking after bathing/ dressing the service user who is also female, because the female service users will prefer a female staff. This will respect the dignity of the service users. Staffs must be encouraging service users
Throughout Unit 6 we reviewed the continuum of care in long-term care facilities and its many aspects. The continuum of care, also referred to as the delivery system of health care, is best defined as a full range of long-term care services increasing in level of acuity and complexity from one end to the other (PowerPoint). This delivery system is comprised of three substantial components. These components are the informal system, community based care, and the institutional system.
This presentation is going to talk about person- centred care, confidentiality, respecting privacy and dignity and protecting from risks and harm. The common core principles are important to every Health and Social Care setting as they provide a basis for a general understanding of promoting good mental health and recognising signs of poor mental health among everyone receiving care and support. The aim of care home are to meet the identified needs of individuals who live in that home. An older person might need to live in that care home for years. It is important for staff to be aware of responsibilities in delivering care to support the individuals who live at that home. These common principles of health will help develop the workforce that respond confidently to the individuals and supporting the life they are leading.

What actually is residential care and who we care for? Residential care is for people who can not continue living in their own home, even with support from home care services. You can stay in residential care for a short time known as respite care, over a longer period or permanently. There is a wide range of reasons for needing this type of support, for example, if a person has significant physical disabilities, learning disabilities, mental ill health, an alcohol or drug dependency, or is at risk of injury or abuse. This often has serious impacts on their life-opportunities - for example, working, having sexual relationships, or starting a family. Residential care can

Health care industry is a huge growing industry, the percentage of people aging in America is increasing, According to The New York Times In 2010, there were 40 million people age 65 and over in the United States, accounting for 13 percent of the total population. The older population in 2030 is projected to be twice as large as in 2000, growing from 35 million to 72 million and representing nearly 20 percent of the total U.S. population. The demand for medical care is expected to increase in the near future, so in order to meet this demand there is need for more people to enter into the field of healthcare. But, the number of people applying to health professional schools is decreasing due to a number of reasons-
A) A real entrepreneur can take an idea and that can be change in to a service or product according to the needs of certain population. Because of this characteristic economists said that “entrepreneurship is becoming an important agent in the growth and wellbeing of the society”.an entrepreneur is motivated by family or society. If they can’t capable of quick action it will be result on their process and success. Social entrepreneurs are stepping to solve the problems.
As a residential staff member, the position will require a lot of dedication and time. There will also be situations where issues arise unexpectedly, and you need to make room in your schedule that you did not originally plan for. In order to be in this type of position, you have to be flexible and handle your commitments ahead of time so that you are ready for any unexpected circumstances. You also have to find ways to relieve the stress that may accumulate from being so busy. As a Peer Advisor for the Health Sciences Scholars Program, I have had practice with this type of position. There have been situations where my mentees or freshman approach me for a conversation that can turn into hour-long talks, or circumstances where I needed to
Adult nursing is a lifelong learning career which I have been drawn to since I was young. My mum is a registered nurse and I’ve always admired what she’s done. I would like to apply for this course as I want to help, not only emotionally but medically. I think that these two approaches have to go hand in hand when dealing with patients in care. It is an extremely challenging and demanding career that can be rewarding and satisfying. I am very attracted to the profession as I’ve always had an interest in caring for people and be keen on the thought of working in a large hospital environment where I can be involved in the hands on medical treatment of patients. Working in a large hospital promises a stimulating work environment and there are
