I loved how you described our last reading material as having “a poetic end” to our course. I have to admit that this chapter was a bit difficult for me to grasp. It was up until I read this line from your post that the material actually “came together” for me. I was able to see how the entire book came together with your insight. I found the use of the two analysis models to have great validity in discussing how two different approaches aid to produce a policy analysis recommendation to a specific client and how to address a problem (Teitelbaum & Wilensky, 2017, p. 278). Like I mentioned in my post, if ever I am presented with the opportunity to influence a health policy analysis, I will be better prepared to deliver a good recommendation
The face of healthcare has been changing over the last decade. The role of nurse practitioners has become ever more important. This paper conducts a policy analysis as a systematic investigation of alternative policy options, for the emerging nationalized healthcare plan and the increased use of nurse practitioners. It looks at the goals of nationalized healthcare 's use of nurse practitioners and discusses to what extent this policy meets these goals. This paper begins with a detailing of the problem addressed by the policy and the goals and objectives of nationalized healthcare 's increased use of nurse practitioners. Next, alternatives to meeting the increased needs of the health industry,
In 2010, the Affordable Care Act invoked a $75 millon dollar demonstration project known as the Medicad Emergency Psychiatric Demonstration that was amended in section 2707 of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). The change seemed to be just what the nation needed, however, there was fine print added to the amendment that changed the interpretation. The fine print stated, patients who are on Medicaid from the ages of 21-65 seeking inpatient mental health care can receive treatment under the law. However, the inpatient facility will receive no

Open approaches are definitive choices that are made in administrative, official, or legal extensions of government. They are definitive in the setting that the moves made at these levels have authenticity and are tying, at any rate until the point that changes are made in one of those extensions that influences the approach.
It is necessary for all businesses to have policies and procedures as it sets clear expectations and obligations for employees and the employer relationship. Employees are then made aware of what will happen if problems arise and also support the employment agreements.

House Resolution (H.R.) 370 was introduced to Congress on January 9th, 2017 by Republican Rep. Bill Flores of Waco, Texas. The bill itself is quite simple, totaling two pages in length. The main purpose of the bill is repeal the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 (ACA), completely restoring or reviving the laws it amended as if it had never existed. Unlike similar repeals to the ACA, this bill does not have a replacement plan or any sort of alternate plan. It simply takes the ACA away and restores the law to their pre-ACA state. This is concerning for many reasons, but it may also have some benefits as well. The future of America’s health care is ever changing and it is more important
Current health care policy drivers include: access, cost, quality (Kominski, 2014). Each health care policy driver impacts health care differently. They are also associated with different challenges and issues with the U.S. health system (Kominski, 2014). Access is essential for all those seeking health care or health insurance, and the most important driver. Cost is a key driver and affects both access and quality. “Quality in health care has become the leading issue for health care managers” (Kominski, 2014, p. l).
Highlight and present one key player/stakeholder (i.e., federal, state, or local) in political health policy in your state.
Everyone is entitled to get the universal health coverage insurance. According to World Health Organization constitution (1948), all individuals have the right to health care. However, when it comes to UHI, the government will consider the most vulnerable persons without imposing any restrictions. These are people living below the poverty levels and can barely afford treatment costs. Equity in the healthcare program will be paramount and the country will track the records of health care access based on different factors such as sex, income level, residence, immigration status, and age.
The U.S. healthcare system is broken. The health care expenditures are the highest in the world and increasing every year at a rate that poses a serious threat to all Americans. For example, the national health expenditures per capita increase from $1,110.00 in 1980 to $9,255 in 2013 and it projected to rise to 19.3% by 20251. However, higher spending does not produce better health care or better outcomes and does not improve patient perceptions of the accessibility or quality of healthcare care. We had enough, we cannot rely on our wasteful, fragmented multi-payer system of financing health care; something must be done to improve our healthcare system and make healthcare affordable for the entire nation.
The purpose of this paper is to define autism, define Medicaid, and the role that Medicaid plays in regards to coverage of necessary therapy treatments for autistic children in the state of Florida. The advantages and disadvantages of Medicaid will be discussed as well. This topic is of interest to me because I work with this population on a daily basis as an occupational therapy assistant. It is important to be aware of this program and how it affects the autistic population because 1 in 68 children are diagnosed with autism (Chen, Peñagarikano, Belgard, Swarup & Geschwind, 2015). The Medicaid coverage for autistic children is great, although coverage varies from state to state and has a
The health care, policy-making process is composed of three major stages; the formulation stage, legislative stage, and the implementation stage. The policy process refers to the specific decisions and events that are required for a policy to be proposed, considered, and finally either implemented and/or set aside. It is an interactive process with multiple points of access providing opportunities to influence the multiple decision makers involved at each stage (Abood, 2007). Each stage presents a unique set of events for a policy to be proposed, considered, and either implemented or rejected. In the formulation stage there is

As a healthcare system which includes 8 acute care hospitals (one being an academic medical center,) 6 urgent care centers and 2 surgery centers, it is crucial that we stay abreast of current policy and changes to policy as they occur, in an effort to stay competitive in the marketplace. This is the most current research as it relates to the development of ACOs in New Jersey and an overview of how this activity may impact our health system. I am providing this to the board of trustees for review.
