Defined as the act or instance of taking one’s own life voluntarily and intentionally, suicide, plays a huge role in the play Hamlet. Hamlet, the main character of the play, after losing his father, starts to battle between the choices of “To be or not to be.” He questions whether it's nobler in the mind to suffer, or to take arms against a sea of troubles and by opposing, end them. According to Stanford Children, suicide today is the third leading cause of death in fifteen to twenty four year olds. The real question is, why do teens take their own lives?
