Haile Selassie was the last Emperor of Ethiopia and lead the nation from 1930-1974. Some even speculated he was the Rastafarian messiah. His father being a provincial governor of Ethiopia giving him the power and the influence to become a regent in 1916 and next in line for the thrown. He continued to gain influence over the Queen by attempting to modernize Ethiopia by abolishing slavery promoting equality and joining the league of nations. By 1928 he had gained so much influence the Queen attempted to get rid of him by accusing him of treason. They formed a ten-point program to bring full equality for African Americans in trials, employment, military, etc.

The group worked for change by “employing violent tactics” like marching on streets while toting guns ("Black Panther Party: Platform"). The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) had a program called the Counter Intelligence Program (also known by its portmanteau COINTELPRO) that worked to neutralize the Black Panther Party.

Growing up I had a role model. He is the most inspirational person I have ever had the chance of meeting. He took care of me when I was sick or when my parents would have to work late into the night, and honestly I am proud to say that this inspirational person is my older brother, Trey Hampton. Capital punishment is a sentence that is given to someone that has committed a capital crime. This is a subject of great debate; some people agree and some do not. There are times when a crime is so heinous that the majority would seek capital punishment. Susan Gissendaner received this sentence for plotting to kill her husband, although her boyfriend actually killed her husband. Since being in prison, Susan has undergone a conversion and transformation. She is now a model prisoner. Due to Susan’s transformation, they are trying to have her sentence changed. Should Susan’s sentence be commuted to life in prison is the question being asked? This paper will answer the question by providing a moral judgment viewed by two non-consequentialist theories. The strengths and weaknesses of these positions will be assessed. Whether I agree or disagree will be answered and explained.
Many historians argue that race has played a central role in the history of the United States. The statement previously made is a factual statement because there is historical evidence to prove it is true. Knowing and taking in count that there is a lot of racial discrimination for all different races, our main focus will be on the African American (black) race.
The Selma marches have had an immense impact on United States history. In 1964, the Civil Rights Act was passed. Even after its passing, many southern states were still segregated and nothing really changed. The Selma marches were three marches that protested the state of Alabama for its discrimination against African Americans. Ancient Egyptians are ones who seem to be obsessed with the idea of the afterlife, so much so that they have seemingly endless rituals and preparations for a person who has passed. Their kings strive to keep order and peace throughout their kingdom so they can generate ma’ at for the gods. They do this so they can have a happy afterlife, but it seems that only few of the wealthy Egyptians can get their hands on the book of the dead for the afterlife. Ma’at can be seen as the very essence of Egypt, it sets the bar for social contract and how people with authority should righteously govern those lower on the hierarchical scale.
