In the second amendment, passed in 1791, by James Madison, the people are given the right to bare arms. The right was established to allow the citizens to feel stable and secure. Had a war arisen or a tyrant gained control, the people would not be left defenseless. However, the core purpose of this amendment has been altered through time. Now and days, guns have become a large issue led by debate/ They are being used to unlawfully kill, and have essentially become a threat. However, some people still feel the need to have possession of a gun for protection. Being able to bare arms is still positive because it still allows a sense of security for citizens.

America’s gift to my generation is our rights. One right in particular is the second amendment of the constitution “The Right To Bear Arms”. The second amendment of the bill of rights guarantees the right to own firearms and use them. The second amendment was approved 8 years after the revolutionary war.The second amendment was created December 15 1791. The ten amendments were created so they wouldn’t be put in a situation where they were controlled by a tyrannical government again, and to set the foundation for our newly founded government. The ten amendments were written in independence hall in Philadelphia. The second amendment isn’t just referring to the use of a weapon as a means of hunting but to protect you or many persons if needed.

The Second Amendment to the Constitution gave United States citizens the right to bear arms. Although, the Second Amendment stated: “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms. However, the framers could not foresee the type of violence we have in our cities today. Innocent citizens have and are being brutally killed due to this amendment. Stricter gun control laws must be enacted to receive these types of weapons.

Weapons have been a big problem to the United States for many years now. People have access to many weapons just as easy as the US Military does. The people of the US can both go to a gun store and buy a weapon at the age of sixteen, or they can make a deal with anyone in the streets of the US. Because of the accessibility to weapons, Americans can cause collateral damage in the neighborhood they live in. They can also commit robbery, or go anywhere and start shooting.

The Right to Bear Arms was the second amendment put into place when creating the nation. It gives the people of our country the right to keep and own a gun. Today, just over two hundred years later, one of the biggest debates in society is on gun control and how the people should be handling their weapons. The gun control in the country is something that should be taken more seriously as lives and well beings are at stake.

The rights of the second amendment of the United States constitution grant individuals of America the right to bear arms. Recent actions throughout the country have caused many people to consider restricting the use, purchase, and the ownership of all types of firearms. These actions limit the rights of people throughout the nation who use their firearms for domestic purposes such as hunting or sports. Gun control is an ineffective way of limiting gun related violence within civil areas.

Not only has the second amendment right been a big topic for ages but it is actually the right that founded America. This right has so much history, that taking it away would not better our nation in any way shape or form. The second amendment gives American citizens the right to bear arms. With that right American citizens can buy, own, and use their guns with very few restrictions instead of what they should have. But with the rising of gun-based issues, those doings are now being put into the spotlight, and questioned by the public. The small amount of restrictions and gun laws are what the public are blaming the gun violence and mass shootings for, inspiring the new movements for better gun control. The needs for society to have more regulations, rules, and requirements for guns to have a safer nation. There are gun control laws to try and reduce the number of violent shootings that occur. They are trying to put limits on weapons that Americans can own. The government is trying to take our guns away mainly because of people that are criminally insane. Most of the people who commit crimes don’t even have the weapons legally. If the government takes away the rights of people who are allowed to have firearms in their possession, it will most definitely cause an outrage. The Second Amendment was created so that states within America could form militias to get rid of rebellions because, the federal government did not have a standing army. The Founding Fathers were afraid of having a standing army because they feared that the army would take away power from the government. Without a standing military, the only protection the federal government and the people had, were militias. The second amendment was written during a time when a gun was required by law to be in every household for the protection of the residents. Don B. Kates, a civil rights attorney and criminologist, writes in “Is Gun Ownership a Right” that almost all civilian males of military age had to appear with their own guns when called for militia training or service (13). In those days traveling a long distance was met with many perils, highway men, and dangerous animals to name but a few, a gun was needed to insure ones safety. Today it is considered foolish and unsafe to carry a gun, In fact anti-gun activists would have you believe that you are in more danger carrying a gun then not carrying one. Oppressive gun laws are making it difficult for honest law abiding citizens to obtain and carry firearms. While some laws are effective; such as not selling to convicted felons, others gun laws are doing more harm then good. The government needs to change or abolish certain gun laws.

On the Second Amendment, passed by congress on September 25, 1789, it said:” A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” The word “bear Arms” means that people can own and use the firearm to protect or defend themselves against some situation. This amendment was one of the reason lead to the gun violence that are happen a lot these day. Of course, it is right that people want to defend themselves in certain situation, but I do not think that we should use the firearm for only protect ourselves and there are a lot of way to do that without using a dangerous firearm that can take away people's life. In today’s society the second amendment of the constitution of the United States of America is one of the most controversial topics today. This amendment grants us the right to bear arms and that right shall not be infringed. Some of the problems with gun laws is that they’re not tough enough and that much violent crimes in America are because anyone can get there hands on guns, and they need to be changed to make it harder for Americans to purchase handguns, carry them as concealed weapons and better protect themselves and have more strict background checks and interviews on the buyer. Concealed- carry, 2nd Amendment, Mental Health, Background Checks, and Self Defense are important to gun control so that we can still keep our rights.
