Essay Option Three Guido d’Arezzo is the inventor of the music notation that we use today, as well as a song writer and conductor. Guido d’Arezzo created an easier way to read and understand music, assisting him in his own song writing. Prior to this however, he used to use his hand, called the Guidonian Hand, to teach the names of the notes. He would completely map out the notes all over his hand and hold it up to help conduct groups and teach musicians how to memorize notes. This was a little hectic however, and therefore he came up with the current system we use today.
