My involvement in the group 4 project has given me the great opportunity to explore different fields of science. I was not only able to learn about the biological aspects of our project but, I was also able to obtain a greater understanding of how different perspectives and factors are involved in varying fields of science.
The artifact is my EDLD 613’s international group project presentation where each group did research and presented on a different country’s higher education system. I picked this presentation since shows an example of my understanding of global perspectives of higher education and cultural diversity as I learned about the variety of higher education systems in different countries. My group focused on Argentina. In the presentation, we went over the history of the higher education system, quick facts about the country, explained the overall organization of the system and characteristics of it, the opportunities and challenges and possible recommendations for improvement. I had focused on the characters of access, equity, financial aid, issues
There are lots of people around the U.S who who do not understand the hard struggle of people from other countries. Lots of people make stereotypes about Asian people, Latinos, and people from Arabic countries. People would normally assume that if you are asian, you speak Chinese or Japanese, or that you paint nails, or own a “Chinese food” restaurant.
In healthcare today, where patient outcomes are dependent on effective interprofessional education, interprofessional collaboration and interdisciplinary teamwork (Milstead 2015 p 261), there is the need for better preparation of health professionals in teamwork (“Team 4” concept). The purpose of interprofessional education (IPE) and interprofessional collaboration related to “Team 4” concept is to show that healthcare providers and health professionals are just as important to patient outcomes as the physician (Milstead 2015 p 264). According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the ideas and concepts of IPE, is health professionals from many disciplines working together as a team towards the end goal of a better health outcome for the patient are pivotal, and must be included in medical education for all health care providers and health professional (Milstead 2015 p 261-264).
While I was an undergraduate student at UMass I made it my mission to explore as many experiences and fields of biology to
I’m Christine Nguyen, and I’m writing in regards to give you a brief statement of myself, so you could get an understanding of whether I would make a considerable teammate for our project.
Have you ever wondered what got the Beatles or ACDC so far in their career? They were in a group and that benefited them in multiple ways just like group projects benefit us in the classroom. I think that having group projects benefits us and our whole entire learning atmosphere in a positive way. Group project and activities benefit us by giving a more positive and less tense environment for learning, they help us learn social skills when we work together with other people in our groups and finally group projects let us take enjoyment in what we are doing our project on and we can have a better experience while participating in this project. I like group projects and I think we should have more of them in and out of the classroom.
Even though I start off quiet, and may have problems with procrastination,. I should do well on this group projects long as I work in a small group where the work is disturbed evenly. Plus I am a very organized when it comes to group projects and writing essays. I take one step at a time and work with my group members and cooperate with distributing the work into four parts. Myer Briggs is known for the indicator test. Myer Briggs talks about how people take these test to indicate what type of personality they have. This test was made to see how people have their own personalities and understand them Myer Briggs developed a list for each personality: Introvert-Extravert, Sensing-Intuitive, Thinking- Feeling, Perceiving- Judging. All of these
I am so happy that you mentioned, "stay on top of deadlines". It is so important tip to work on group project. Everyone has different schedules, but it is necessary to keep in mind to track the progress. I like this sentence, "Timing is the key to success along with communication when it comes to working on group projects." Group Project is a time-consuming process. We want everyone to satisfy the final grade, so that timing is one of the key
List EACH group member’s name and describe what each individual contributed to the project. Describe your PERSONAL contributions to the project.
Do you agree having school projects at your school? What do you truly think about them? I agree with the use of group projects in school because it can teach children skills, a chance to make new relationships, and help improve their performance in school. The first reason is I agree with the use of group projects is it teaches children skills, such as leadership, communication, time management, and etc.
I am really concerned about the group project. I live in California and the three hours time difference with NY makes it hard to work as a group. I work full-time; I leave at 7 AM and get back by 6 PM, which is 9 PM in NY. I have been through some serious health condition during the past three weeks, and I used up all my sick and vacation days. For my doctor’s appointment, I have to take unpaid leave, and I must provide a doctor’s note to my employer. If I were not so close to finishing the semester, I would drop my classes because of my health condition.
On my first day, I sat in the corner of a laboratory surrounded by glass beakers, mechanical spinners, and focused graduate students running about in lab coats and latex gloves. Sitting in the midst of “controlled chaos,” as my lab mentor liked to remark, I was awestruck, not by the intricate instruments and their violent noises, but by the sheer amount of progress being done to solve science’s mysteries. While I was timid at first, overwhelmed by the brisk manner of many of the lab workers, I quickly realized they were just like me: inquisitive students searching for the pieces that eluded the scientific community and prevented them from completing the puzzle. Eagerly, I opened my protocol, grabbed a coat and gloves, and began my quest to learn more about the mitochondrial response to a lack of
The industry sponsored senior design course at Cal State LA focuses on the needs of industry. Its goal is not only to improve students’ motivation, confidence, resilience, problem solving and critical thinking skills, but also to improve students’ communication, writing, and collaborating skills. This course also provides the students many opportunities to apply the concepts of software engineering that they learned in classrooms to develop software that is reliable, flexible, maintainable, and that works efficiently in real world. This course is designed to train students to use knowledge and skills of software development to implement
My contribution to the groups creation is craft with natural resources, for my talent I use natural resources to create neat objects, to construct and build with. I contributed this creative talent to the group by collecting natural resources from my home. I collected branches from around the section and use my tools to make them similar lengths, I used cabbage tree leaves to plat and act as rope to hold the branches together. I found some recycled wood from previous projects under the pizza oven, I used all the natural resources collected to make the backdrop and structure for the puppets.
Team projects have always been one of my biggest fears; there are so many things to reason before beginning to becoming a team. From the moment when the professor says there’s a group project one’s mind can go swirling into a bundle of thoughts, doubts, and vaguely thought out wonders. Furthermore, there is the thought of “I wonder”, I wonder if I’m going to get the smart people, I wonder if that guy is friendly, or I hope there isn’t high expectations for the tasks at hand. Being introverted is one thing, knowing that there is there is no way to pass the class without participating is another. Now, not only do i have a group project, but I also have to overcome myself and do what’s necessary to succeed. On forward after getting my group members I was really confident in them from the start, they all looked the part and seemed if they had sense of humor. Meeting them on the day we were assigned to our groups was indeed mentally stimulating because we got to work right away. The only question came to mind is who will be the leader of this group? In retrospect, our team of six was chosen to be group five and we were assigned with the awesome category of leadership. Furthermore, after some very silly hilarious brainstorming we came up with our team name Alpha team five.
