I am so happy that you mentioned, "stay on top of deadlines". It is so important tip to work on group project. Everyone has different schedules, but it is necessary to keep in mind to track the progress. I like this sentence, "Timing is the key to success along with communication when it comes to working on group projects." Group Project is a time-consuming process. We want everyone to satisfy the final grade, so that timing is one of the key
For this class project, I think my group worked well together on the assignments. We all saw we had responsibilities and were expected to do our own parts for each assignment we worked on. For each assignment, we would split it equally among us and used a tool called Google Docs so we were each on our own computers but working together on one file. Google Docs really made the process easier with reviewing all the information and having it all in one file. If any questions came up we had a group text to communicate when we weren’t on campus grounds for class.
In an online class setting, it can be very challenging to work on a group project that requires the participation of every group member and completing the project on time. This group project was successful one each individual had because we used proper communication to assign tasks, roles, and deadline to complete the project.
This decision to start early on the project saved us from all the hassle we might have encountered by the end of the project. It allowed us for the time to think each and every part through and then write a good professional report. Each group member was assigned different parts of the project, which helped a lot in finishing the project well before the deadline. This saved us a lot of time for editing and revising our final report. Each time a group member was stuck on something the partner would try to help him out if the partner did not know how to they would go to the professor and seek her guidance. To make sure the whole team was on the same page, we had weekly discussion meetings. In the discussion meetings, each group member talked about the progress and the limitations on their part of the project. This idea proved to be quite healthy as now each group member knew what was going on in the project.
hat the most important to succeed in a project is to work as a team, not as a groups of people ho all work for there own interest.
Something that we learned as a group was that cooperation helps a lot. Certain tasks were accomplished faster and this showed us that one person does not have to do the entire project on their own. Procrastination is also detrimental, causing cramming on days before deadlines. This can be stressful and force meetings to be postponed. Our group has also learned to follow a set schedule. Following a schedule allows us to complete all of our work on time.
When I first find out that there’s a group project, I wanted to work with people that I know are responsible, capable of doing the assignments, respectful, and don’t procrastinate. I did not want to work with negative people at all I’ve learned from past group presentation experience, so I quickly ask Carolyn, Britney and Adina if they want to work together, they agreed and that’s how we formed our group but, we still needed to add one additional person for our group. The second time we meet up in class the other group members had already ask two of our classmates to join our group so Alexia and Wendy came along. I was excited about everyone that’s in our group because, I know that they’re all are capable of getting the assignments and project done on time and they are very respectful. We were assigned by the professor to come up with a group contract, I have never done any group contract before so I was happy with the assignment. We all decide that in order for us to have a positive group experience we would have to follow the contract we’ll of course follow the contract and we came up with things that we all agreed on. We add on the contract that “everyone will keep their feelings in check and keep group members informed of how things are going. No one is expected to give full disclosure of their situation but a general advising that something is going on is expected. Respect each other and don 't be afraid to ask for help. On the second meeting we also came up with a
Teamwork and time management were the valuable lessons that were taught amid the project that are able to be used in the future work-pace for many reasons. For instance, teamwork was learned throughout the entire month of accomplishing all assignments that went along with the project.
From mine perspective, group assessment is the hardest parts that I have done when I started the university. As what I have learnt from the group presentation in Introduction of Management course, a high relationship and the enthusiastic members would create the best performance. Our team is a diversity team because we all have the difference in backgrounds and cultures. Chloe and I come from the same country, which is Vietnam and we are international students. Genesis, who grow up in Australia, but have the Venezuela background. And last but not least, Hosna, she is from Afghanistan and also grow up in Australia. As a leader in the team, I decided to monitoring the team by using the chat room on Facebook and reminded them to finish their
For one, many students do all or most of the work. Those students strive to get finished faster. Sometimes, they are overbearing on the rest of the group. These students think they can do the project finer than anyone else in the group, which is annoying. In summary, in group projects there is always that one person who wants to do all or most of the work;
Many people are first introduced to a group project in elementary school. Teachers typically assign group projects to help students work together, socialize and complete a more challenging task. This type of collaboration is slowly introduced throughout middle school and becomes a norm while in high school. Group projects are great at helping students learn how to work together. This collaboration dynamic is very important to have a successful group projects. If there is no communication between group members it will be very difficult to successfully complete the project.
In many undergraduate courses students engage in different kinds of group projects. One of the advantages of the group project as opposed to an individual one is that it gives an opportunity for students to work as a team for a period of time. When students conduct group projects, they usually allocate the tasks among the members. Whether the students work with partners or in a group co-operation is very important. This is one of the aims in undergraduate projects since in the real world people often work in teams to achieve common goals. The group members have to accommodate their own interest with that of the other members of the group, and compromise and negotiation skills are needed for smooth and effective group functioning. Us students have to externalize our thinking and communicate with group members effectively.
Sometimes, individual assignments might take a long time to finish, or else, students will have an overwhelming amount of homework. Group assignments can make a
In this lesson, you will learn how to organize your team to maximize the potential that the team will be successful. You will also see how to break down the tasks of the project so that everyone is clear about what he or she needs to do.
Strengths for our team include the fact that our group consists of upper level, business majors who have studied various aspects of business theory and knowledge. This knowledge will be used to the best of the group’s ability to develop and present a well-rounded final project. One notable weakness for our group is that we are having to communicate over a distance rather than work together in a single setting. This provides some obstacles as e-mail communication is often tedious when it comes to working together in a group. However, opportunity wise, our group consists of different minded members who can provide various and diverse insights for our group project. As a group our biggest threat is mostly time and communication. Because this class ranges over a few short weeks it is imperative that our group is mindful of deadlines as well as maintaining clear communication between all members.
When all the task are assigned, individuals start their task at a different rate. Some project groups have meet ups either in the library or the university center. Some individuals completes the task earlier than others and some struggle. However, assistance is always provided by the other members of the group in order to improve the marks. After the assignment, some members of the groups develop friendship and some goes to their own path way.
