Problem Summary (1 page) – Greg Greece is one of the oldest group of innovators in the history of western civilization. Greek society inspired achievements that shaped the foundation of Western ancient civilization. They were sensible and daring enough to go into directions, no other civilization had tried to dwell into before. They went on to accomplish great feats in the arts, philosophy, science, architecture and many more. Although some of their ideas may have been discarded in due time, many of the ancient Greeks’ discoveries and inventions are still used today. One of the major discovery that the sun is in the center of solar system was once ignored, but later rediscovered and agreed upon. Innovators have a hard time finding the right parties to complement their knowledge and skills, or get the necessary help to complete their innovation projects. It is problematic to easily obtain and share knowledge or ask for assistance. Identifying and applying for government and EU incentive programs, subsidies and financing is complicated, time-consuming and costly. The ancient Greeks and Romans were perhaps two of the greatest civilizations of the ancient world. These two civilizations thrived in their ancient environments which eventually led to a vast amount of prosperity within these two cultures. It is because of this prosperity that these ancient cultures were able to make a variety of advancements in literature, architecture, art and a variety of other fields. These two civilizations also produced some of the ancient world’s greatest writers, leaders, and philosophers. The cultures of ancient Greece and Rome made a number of contributions to western civilization in the form of advancements in literature, architecture, art, government, and philosophy.
During the Greek Golden Age, 500-300 BCE, many aspects of Greek life flourished. New ideologies and standards began to emerge and then be utilized as a stepping stone for the future ideas to come. This time period produced new discoveries in philosophy, geometry, architecture and medicinal science. These new discoveries had a huge impact on the civilizations to come and they are still seen in modern life. The ancient Greek philosophers’ practices are what today's education systems utilize, ancient Greek architecture can be seen in many important buildings all over the world and the mathematicians of Ancient Greece proved new theories that future mathematicians then developed even further.

The Cancer is the dimmest of the zodiac signs, and it looks like an upside-down Y. It can be seen during autumn in the southern hemisphere and northern hemisphere in early spring.

Philosophers, especially Plato, Aristotle, and Socrates impacted the way people thought about the world around them. Greek architecture is still commonly used today, as evidenced by our use of pillars and columns. The ancient Greeks also excelled in sculpting. They figured out how to make graceful, emotional, and realistic statues which needed no additional support. Poetry, theatre, and drama also made up an important part of Greek culture. Some Greeks studied science, math, history, and their studies form the basis of many of todays theories. Science helped others understand a little more of these subjects. In Greece, as in todays world, science was based on observation, not myth, even though myths were considered an important part of life to every Greek. The Greeks are also considered to be the first people who recorded history only after consulting witnesses, forming the base of modern history.

On November 24th, 2015 I visited my friend Jennifer at her home, as she had informed me that she would be babysitting her two year-old niece, Sophia that day. Prior to this encounter, I had only met Sophia twice. First, Jennifer and I were in the living room discussing various issues. Around nine o’clock in the morning we heard a knock on the door. It was Sophia’s father, Jose, who was dropping Sophia off on his way to work. He greeted us, however, Sophia was not a happy toddler. Yet, my first observation of Sophia was taking note of her crying and keeping her eyes on her father. I wondered were these actions by Sophia a mechanism to make sure that her father doesn’t leave her with Jennifer and I.
Lastly, the most important areas of Greek achievement were math and science. They achieved all kinds of things in the areas of psychology, astronomy, geometry, biology, physics, and medicine. In astronomy they formulated the ideas that the sun was 300 times larger than the earth, the universe was composed of atoms, and they also calculated the true size of the earth. Someone that was greatly involved in astronomy was Aristotle. In geometry, ancient Greeks found the value of pi, and Euclid, who wrote the book Elements around 30 B.C., theorized that of two straight lines cut one another, the vertical, or opposite, angles shall be equal. In physics, the lever and pulley was invented along with a force pump which eventually evolved into a stream engine. Important people in this area were Archimedes and Pythagoras who were two of the many influential in the Greek citizens. Ancient Greece has definitely made many influential contributions to that of western civilizations.

I would guess that most people would find it hard to believe that the calendar; hieroglyphics; paper; the ox-drawn plow; wigs; clocks; eye makeup; mathematical reasoning and geometry, to name a few, plus many other modern-day technologies and philosophies, can be traced to a civilization that is thousands of years old. Two of the oldest and most important civilizations known to man were the ancient Egyptian and ancient Greek civilizations. The ancient Greek civilization is the term used to describe the Greek-speaking world in ancient times, however, the dates for the beginning or end of the Ancient Greek period are not generally agreed upon.

The ancient Greeks were perhaps one of the greatest civilizations of the ancient world and are among one of the biggest landmarks in all of world history. The Greeks affected philosophy, math, science, arts, architecture, drama and etc. Many of Greek principles and concepts have since been applied in civilizations throughout much of western history and have had a continuing impact on people in different phases of history. Numerous of philosophers, authors, and artists originated in Greece are believed to have influenced much of the world. There were other empires that were bigger than those of Greece, such as Rome and the British Empire, but none of these cultures produced more great thinkers, philosophers, and artists than Greece.
Ancient Greek made many advances during their time in many subjects still used today. The ancient Greeks advances in these subjects, influenced and contributed to the Western civilization. The Western civilization’s culture and outlook on life was shaped by ancient Greek. Many things the ancient Greeks created were the basis for what we use today, including, architecture, art, dramas, math, science, and philosophy.
Every idea has a start and a history that can be traced back in time. An incredible amount of these ideas and thoughts were started by great ancient civilizations. These ancient civilizations are the base of all modern knowledge. No ancient civilization has contributed more to this base than the civilization of Ancient Greece. The unique ways of ancient Greek agriculture have left a profound influence on the agriculture of today.
