After reading and doing the eLearning activities, I feel it has helped me put together a thesis statement. It has always been a struggle for me, to make a thesis statement make sense and match the rest of the essay. I chose my Grandpa Albert as my topic because he was one person who started from the nothing in the Great Depression and he worked his way through life to get out from that hole by joining the military and working several jobs supporting a family of 5 before he retired. I know I can write a lot of this topic because he was such an inspiring and positive man. Some questions I have is: is my thesis statement long enough? Does it need more or is this okay for a thesis statement? Is it okay to tell his experiences in his life that I
Throughout history there have been many acts of resilience, kindness, and courage that have impacted and changed our current society. I had the privilege to go to Alabama to take a more profound look at the history that legends such as Joann Bland, Rugenia Henry, and Martin Luther King have left behind. (add thesis + concluding sentence)

Margret Sanger established the organization in 1916 when she founded the first family planning health center in New York. Due to the cultural belief at that time, the relevant authorities closed the clinic. However, Sanger's vision led her to open another clinic in 1923 in Manhattan. The authorities in Manhattan were tolerant to the Birth Control Clinical Research Brue (Sanger’s clinic). As Sanger was giving contraceptives to women, she was also collecting data about the effectiveness and safety of every contraceptive. By 1966, Planned Parenthood Federation had grown from a small heath care center in Manhattan to a national organization that is renowned to revolutionized reproductive health care among women. With time, Sanger has worked to

It was a great point you made about the use of MLK’s information use. I also thought MLK's use of past history of injustices and definition was articulated well. He was good in logically tying ideas and reasoning to his thesis through past highly credible educated
“Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently”-Henry Ford. This quote explains that even if you fail you have the chance to try again but this time smarter or in other words, if you fail it doesn't end their world you can always try again and be better. My mom had the best intentions, but she didn't know how to help me. My mother was practically a single mother for two years I had to grow up real quick. She had to work and I had to stay home, lock all the doors, and find a way to keep my little sister entertained. For a long time I didn't understand why my father had left. One day we got a call that my grandfather was in the hospital. A few days later he passed. That moment changed every single person in my family. Everyone was broken, but yet the spark that had been dead in all of us lit up. Over time, many of the scars from the past began to fade along with my bitter attitude. These experiences formed who my family is today and how they have raised me to be. I now understand my hardships weren’t an excuse to be unkind. I have grown into a responsible women with strong morals and values. The essay asked how would I contribute to the diversity of The University of Kentucky and the answer is I have a spark. A spark that no one else but I have. The spark that's going to give me that push to fight harder and stronger than any other
For this project o had to think of person whom I knew was at least 60 and that I was comfortable enough talking to. The person who best fit this criterion was my neighbor George West. Mr. West was born in June of 1941, and is 73 years old, he has served in the Vietnam War, was a detective for the CIA for a little bit, and then decided to settle down with his family here in El Dorado Hills. He as a very interesting past that I would would be really interesting to talk about and learn about. I talked with Mr. West at length about his experiences and perspective in the war, and how this had a direct influence on him today, and what it was like seeing history occur before his eyes, and social trends of today are seen by him. I essentially aimed to learn more about the Vietnam War, Cuban Missile Crisis, and other earlier Cold War polices. I also asked him a lot about his experiences wight he CIA and a lot of the work that he did with them and how that has changed his perspective on American culture today. This premised a talk about many historic events that also happen to be terms such as the Watergate scandal, his experiences and views on the the Space Race, as well as the social climate during the assassination of the President Kennedy. I capped this riveting discussion of with Civil rights, and his role at the time, as well as how he was major contributor and what he though about the process.
Branding is about establishing an image of how you would like to be seen and thought of by others. In business, for instance, those people are usually consumers. In other words, companies want clients to think of them in a positive light so they purchase their products.
Thesis Statement I will always remember the first apartment I moved because of what happened there, I had a roommate from work that I had just met a month prior, it was on the second story so we would always hang out on the patio and it had a big enough living room for my friends and me to set up our TVs and play games all day. Paragraph 1 My first apartment easily had the most changes in my life, in the span of one year, happen inside of it. I started working at a call center for tech support and met many, many good friends because of it. I learned how to manage money and put bills and food first.
I believe there is a clear thesis in the introduction paragraph of the essay. The essay thesis is drive and the subsequent content are related to the main argument.
When writing an essay or summary, one of the most important factors I feel helps the reader understand what the essay will be about is the thesis. Having a well-structured thesis is helpful because it gives me an idea of what I want the general direction of my paper to be. For example, in my literary, in my thesis I write, “In the essay ‘Pride’ by Dagoberto Gilb, he shows how even though people are poor and Mexican American they can find pride in their culture, work, and success.” (“Have Pride In Where You Come From” Final 1). This thesis clearly states all three points and it is easy for the reader to understand that the essay will be about being prideful. Another example of a strong thesis is in my proposal essay, in my thesis I write,
The first essay I was asked to write was an advertisement analysis. In this essay, I had to analyze an advertisement of my choice from a magazine. I chose to analyze an advertisement for the Toyota 4Runner. When my teacher first mentioned a thesis, I had no idea what she was talking about. Soon, I came to realize that a thesis was a sentence at the end of the introduction paragraph that briefly introduces the topics covered in the essay. I chose to analyze the 4Runner advertisement with the following topics: its appeal to outdoorsmen, its facts used to persuade buyers, and the lively way in which the vehicle was portrayed. I learned that each body paragraph needed to be structured around those topics, and that is exactly what I did. I found this essay to be easy to write. Furthermore, I received my highest grade of the year on this essay, only having one unclear pronoun reference and a misplaced comma.
I think the person who has had the most profound effect on my life besides my parents is my grandfather. I never realized before how much of an effect he had on my interests and goals for the future. Years ago, he used to tell me stories about historical events and experiences he had fighting in Vietnam and my great grandfather fighting in World War 2. His vivid descriptions always made it so interesting and, in some cases, more light-hearted than what actually happened. To this day he still has more stories to tell me, and never fails to captivate my interest. In doing this, he opened my eyes to my biggest interest, history, and encouraged me to pursue this interest throughout school. I feel like it would help to give a short summary of his life and how it affected me.
