When caught up in a good book, we assume the non-stop reading and page turning action is because of the plot. However, Karin de Weille gives credit to something that does not cross our minds while engulfing ourselves in stories we wished knew no ending. This overlooked literature superhero is syntax. Karin de Weille goes unto detail on just how important syntax is in her article “How Syntax Moves Us”. Through examples such as “The Yellow Wallpaper” by Charlotte Gilman, Weille is able to put together interesting details on how syntax is like a dance for our minds.
Society today is quick to judge and state what is wrong and what is acceptable by the public. While some differences between Spelling Matters and Use Your Own Words are obvious, the similarities are relevant. Anne Trubek says that perhaps it is time to change or alter grammar rules to match the current generation and culture. We should advance our guidelines about what is proper and improper along with what is happening right now with the language. While Mikita Brottman says, “bad spelling can be a godsend—a way of weeding out those who are thoughtless and inattentive to detail” (p. 219).
After writing a paper, Grammarly and SafeAssign, located on the Walden website, help edit a student’s work. Grammarly looks at grammatical errors, such as punctuation and spelling, while SafeAssign looks for text that might be plagiarized. It was helpful for me to identify some of the mistakes made while writing my paper, and I will certainly use Grammarly more often during my writing process.
Improvement to my grammar is the second area I’ve developed in this course. “It’s the little things that matter”, said by many people, and the way this relates to my second reasoning is due to the fact little grammatical errors matter too. When writing papers, I learned the skill to reread my sentences repeatedly, and see if it sounds right as an overall sentence. This skill, not only helped improve my writing, but also my texting. Improving my grammar is also useful when creating a resume, and applying for jobs and even scholarships. Overall, it is a skill I am pleased I learned to develop, and hope it improves even more over time.
The usage of grammar was not necessarily improved this semester as it was not a large focus of the class. Grammar simply comes along with the writing process and noticing mistakes when reviewing essays. Towards the end of the semester, I learned how to use a semicolon to make a compound sentence out of two simple sentences. I used this technique in this very essay to improve the variety in sentence
1. Sentences are grammatically correct (noun/verb agreement, punctuation, sentence structure, etc.) (up to 5 points)
The first of these services available in the Center for Writing Excellence is Write Point. This program allows me to submit my papers for review before I turn them in. During this review the program provides feedback on basic grammar usage and also provides suggestions on how to make the writing better. This is a wonderful tool for someone who has weak grammar skills.
4. Style, Readability, & Grammar - Readability is excellent, with strong attention to audience, appropriate tone and style and good transitional language; good use of figurative language; grammar, punctuation, mechanics, and usage are correct and idiomatic, consistent with Standard American English
After uploading my original writing assignment to Grammarly, I noticed a few grammar and word usage errors. According to this tool, I had 32 critical and advance issues in my original writing. The word intelligences (multiple intelligences) was counted several times as being misspelled. There were a few subject-verb agreement errors. After correcting the writing assignment and according to the tool, I still had 16 errors. The word intelligences accounted for 15 of the errors and the instructor name, Kargin, was the other error. I am sure the corrected assignment would be easier for someone else to read.

The English is readable and understandable, but I came across several grammar errors here and there.
1. Identify the main role of the parameter in the method and which statements implement them: to achieve this, it is important to find out the "closeness" of each use of the parameter and this closeness is an indicator of the importance of the parameter usage.
The Grammarly tool is one of the tools that are helping me to learn in this class. The Grammarly tool has helped me to recognize my errors in my writing skills to change the phrase from the passive voice to active voice. For example, I am still demonstrating a lack of understanding in this area, and still working on this skill to demonstrate proficiency.
Throughout the semester, I have gained skills necessary for understanding and utilizing logic while writing. I am now aware that for any writing to be scholarly, it must possess an introductory section, a body and a conclusion section. Further, I am now able to understand as well as utilize most of the basic techniques useful in pre-writing, revision and editing. Through writing the “downloading from torrents” paper, I acquired skills in word processing, sentence elements, and punctuation. Further, I developed some special skills in writing a website analysis which is a critical aspect in contemporary learning as argued by Flateby (p 182). As the semester folds, I believe that I have gained the prerequisite skills in writing and critical thinking. However, I need to improve much on some of the common problems in writing that seems to disturb me especially grammar.
Having the writers workshop has helped me tremendously because the students not only are helping with any grammar and punctuation mistake but they are also giving me suggestions to fix my paper. I always look forward to the writer's workshop because they give me critical feedback letting me know what needs to be fixed. What I usually get suggested to fix is my
