With all the store openings, we had strict instructions from each shopping centre as when to open, not causing any disruption to the centre or any other store. Implementing all of the staff and making sure each of them was adequately trained to the Guess standard allowing them to be part of the openings was key to keeping each party involved satisfied.

Moreover, if Wal-Mart were to commit itself to helping small businesses in the community, cities that are currently blocking its entry for fear of its impact on small businesses might be more willing to let Wal-Mart set up shop in their area. Such a stance would assuage their fears that Wal-Mart was there to take over the city and cast the company in a more positive light.

The most promising activities that I found to be most beneficial to our community would be to establish a foot patrol program and police-school liaison programs. The foot patrol program has been implemented in several states and proven to be success. This will help our officers get to know the residents that they serve and begin to build a trust between the two. In Flint, Michigan the program showed to reduce fear of crime and create an optimistic awareness about the neighborhood and the officers patrolling (Miller, Hess, & Orthmann, 2014). While this can create a positive influence on the residents of the community and help reduce crime in neighborhoods, there could be an influx of crime with commercial properties like in Boston, Massachusetts
People don’t realize how much effort stores put into designing their store layout. They use different techniques like some having a small store so they can stock put more product on their shelves, to make the store look fuller. Another is making the signs look bigger because of the small space. Bigger stores group products for different occasions, so the customer buy what you want and leave faster. These styles may change, and some may stay the same depending on the costumer's needs. But one thing will stay the same, how can we get people in our store? And how can we make them buy our
For my business, I decided to open up an up-scale designer clothing store. In the city I live, we have a good amount of clothing stores but almost all are found at the local malls. I plan to find a large unit that’s surrounded by many businesses along with steady traffic flow.
In Plano there have been many reports of burglaries happening in one neighborhood. Police have been called to investigate these crimes. The have found that the suspect will enter the resident by forcing the back door open. The police have calculated that the suspect has enter the homes between the hours of 6:00pm and 10:00 pm. He then will be in the home for an average of five minutes. One resident stated that she was out with her family for about an hour and when she returned, her back door had been broken and there were muddy foot prints all through her home. She was originally scared but as the time went by she concluded that her community needed to do something about all these burglaries. She began making flyer and putting them in her neighbors mail boxes to make them aware of what was going on. These actions were able to encourage the residents to come together and form a neighborhood watch.
