Global Warming Conspiracy Theory

The argument put forward by John Coleman, in his article “Global Warming Greatest Scam in History!”, is flawed mainly due to numerous logical fallacies. “Ad Hominem”, “Guilt by Association”, “Red Herring”, “Appeal to Irrelevant Authority”, “Hasty Generalization”, and “Genetic Fallacy” are some of the logical fallacies that can be observed to prevail in Coleman’s argument. As a consequence, the soundness, validity, clarity, reasoning and consistency of the whole article are insubstantial. Coleman’s premises fail to support his proposition that global warming is a scam, making the whole argument distorted and faulty.

Global Warming has been a very serious conversation over the last decade, because it affects every person living on the planet whether we choose to believe it or not. Most of the scientific community claims that global warming is to blame for the changes in Earth’s climate. However, there are a small number of scientists who deny the very existence of global warming. Temperatures on earth have increased approximately 1.4°F since the early 20th century. Over time, atmospheric levels of greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide (CO2) and methane (CH4) have notably increased. Both sides in the debate surrounding global climate change agree on the CO2 and CH4 being increased and that’s it.

Global warming is defined as an increase in the earth 's average atmospheric temperature that causes corresponding changes in climate and that may result from the greenhouse effect. Global warming is also known as climate change or the greenhouse effect. The main cause of global warming is too much carbon dioxide being contained in the atmosphere. Carbon dioxide, however, absorbs heat and then warms the planet. Many of the things we do on a daily basis worsens global warming. Arrhenius was a Swedish scientist who discovered the average temperature of the Earth was 15℃. He and Thomas Chamberlin calculated that human activities heated the Earth because they added carbon dioxide to the atmosphere. This research was intended to prove whether or not carbon dioxide would explain the causes of the great Ice Ages. Their research wasn 't actually verified until 1987. Alarmists and scientists fight to make their statements known, but while the alarmists avoid the scientist, non-governmental organizations pass themselves as scientist. They not only give out exaggerated data, they also have the nerve to accuse humans of being the cause of global warming. As someone who is a firm believer in science, the impending increase of Planet Earth’s temperature makes me cringe. Global warming is the gradual increase in the overall temperature of the earth's atmosphere due to the greenhouse effect caused by increased levels of pollutants. Also, while there are tremendous amounts of proof that global warming exists, some civilians choose not to believe in it. This lack of trust in what is proven fact seems to almost have a whimsical feel to it, as some choose not to divulge what is fact from what is fiction.

Global warming has been an on-going issue for many decades. Most people would argue that it is a hoax; while others argue it is true. Climate change can cause a domino effect of catastrophes throughout the world. Once it affects one group, then that affected group will affect another, and so on and so forth; like a plague. Global warming is an authentic problem and we need to find more efficient ways to eliminate it, or at least contain it.

Scientists who believe in global warming say that global warming is the result of carbon dioxide and other air pollutants collecting in the atmosphere like a thickening blanket, trapping the sun’s heat which causes the earth to heat up. Studies indicate that the average global temperature has increased by approximately 0.5-1.0°F (0.3-0.6°C) over the last century” (Jenkins).

The real inconvenient truth is this: people do not cause global warming. The Earth is naturally warming itself, and this is sending humankind into a panic. Even if people were causing global warming, there are many more advantages to the warming climate than disadvantages. Why scientists are taking this issue and blowing it out of proportions is baffling. There are many different ways to look at the argument, and few turn to actual science. The Earth may be warming, but this natural phenomenon may not be as catastrophic as widely believed.
