Tyrion Lannister proves that his problems can be obtained through discovering an opposers weakness, and Daenerys learns even those closest to her can be wicked. Tyrion becomes falsely accused of hiring an assassin to kill Bran, a crippled child whose mother is Lady Catelyn. As a result, Catelyn holds Tyrion as her prisoner, and places him in her sisters jail cell, her sister is Lady Lysa. Lady Lysa is not trustworthy towards Tyrion, and only wants to hear him confess to the crime he didn’t do, so Tyrion devises a plan for his freedom. Tyrion knows Lady Lysa wants him to confess, so he plans to fool his cell guard, Mord, into telling Lady Lysa that Tyrion wishes to confess, and once he has her attention he’ll deny the claims made against him. However, Mord beats Tyrion every time Tyrion speaks to him, thus Tyrion’s plan has became flawed. Through the realization that treating Mord rudely isn’t working, Tyrion takes a wiser more charitable approach. Firstly, Viserys is Daenerys brother, the Targaryen family once ruled the seven kingdoms, however the were overthrown by the Lannisters. Viserys goal is to offer his sister to Khal Drogo, king of the Dothraki, then use Khal Drogo to reclaim the Iron Throne. However Viserys is corrupt and greedy, his goal is not to reclaim the Iron Throne for his family, but Viserys only intends on using the Throne for his own greed. In addition, Viserys constantly sexually assaults his sister, calls her a whore, beats her, and only uses her to get close to Khal Drogo. Daenerys fails to realize her brothers evil intentions and shows him mercy after multiple beatings. However, Daenerys finally realizes her brothers intentions after he gets drunk and attempts to murder her baby, which is in her womb. In rage Khal Drogo melts gold, straps Viserys to the ground, and stations the liquid gold over Viserys face to kill him. Right before Khal Drogo ends Viserys, Viserys squeaks, “sister, please… Dany, tell them.. Make them… sweet sister”(Martin 500). Daenerys has the option to save her brother, on the contrary, she is aware of his evil and instead of saving Viserys she watches him die painfully.
