Saddle Club I love saddle club and it’s really fun! Coach McVey asked my mom if I wanted to bring my horse and ride her in the saddle club. I tried to get her to go and she didn’t want to. It was a struggle. So since Jalee didn’t ride her horse Creeper I did. On the first day I did well. We did barrels, poles, flying w, keyhole and flags. Most of the time I got a 20 through 30 time.I only knew three of the events poles, barrels and flags. Barrels are where you go around 3 barrels in a clover shape. The poles is where you have 6 or 7 poles in a straight line and you weave through them. The flags is where you have a barrel in the middle of the ¾ spot with a bucket of sand with a flag in the middle and you run down grab
On 08/04/16 at 8:42pm, I was dispatched to 2087 S. Hamilton Rd, on a injury dangerous or vicious dog/injured dog, serious injury, involving a Columbus Police Officer (CPD) being bit by a dog and shooting dog. I arrived at the location. I was advised my CPD personnel that the CPD Officer that was bite was transported to the hospital and that the dog was still breathing. I was escorted to the area where the dog was. The dog was on the ground, next to the dog was dog owner Jackie Fate. I was unable to see any visible injuries to the dog, the dog had shallow breathing. I asked Ms. Fate to wrap the leash around the dog’s mouth to prevent the dog from biting her or me while I placed the dog on the stretcher. Ms. Fate complied, I slowly guided the dog on the
The scene I am referring to is in the movie “Blazing Saddles” and begins at 0:26:45 and continues to 0:29:09. This scene introduces Sheriff Bart (Cleavon Little) to the town folks. The scene begins with a man on a building shouting “The mayors comin’! The mayors comin’!” (Blazing Saddles) This scene is a very important scene in relation to the rest of the movie. This scene introduces the sheriff to he town folks. This scene also stresses the racial aspect of the film with many references to the sheriffs race. Without this scene the film would lose some comedic value, and the audience wouldn’t understand why the town folks are uncomfortable with the sheriff throughout the film.
The novel Uncle Tom's Cabin was written by Harriet Beecher Stowe and published in the United States in 1852. The novel depicted slavery as a moral evil and was the cause of much controversy at the time and long after. Uncle Tom's Cabin outraged the South and received praise in the North. The publication of Uncle Tom's Cabin was a major turning point for the United States which helped bring about the Civil War.
Blazing Saddles, a Mel Brooks film, is a perfect example of satire. The main object of the movie is to make fun of the western genre of films. Mel Brooks is notorious for his satires of many different films and film genres, and Blazing Saddles follows true to form. Many of the film’s ideas and problems are common in most westerns, although Mel Brooks has added a twist. In addition, the movie pokes fun at a more modern theme, racism.
Everybody’s eyes were on me as if I was the only living thing for miles. Silence filled the air of the huge coliseum, so quiet that you could hear breathes of each individual. There were hundreds of people sitting in the stands. Even better there were thousands of people watching on the live web cam. It was a cool October morning, and the sun was shining brightly. I woke up and could hear the birds chirping, like they were sending me a sign that it was going to be a great day. The sun was not strong enough to beat the brisk air which was blowing. I had not slept well that night, nor any night that week actually. After all I was about to be showing at the largest single breed horse show in the world, the Quarter Horse Congress. I had been practicing that entire year for this very moment. I literally suffered through blood, sweat, and tears. Nothing in the entire world could stop me at this point. Even if there was a zombie apocalypse, I would slay them all just to have this very
Training for these events started in January. The team gathered every Tuesday and Thursday before school to practice the events. In early January we invited a group of high school students
Unfortunately, I would not be making it to your America history 102 class today, due to some unexpected family situation. Hopefully by next week class I will be somewhat caught up. Also, I recently had a situation with my midterm essay, I spend almost two to three hours typing the essay at Kalamazoo Valley Community College (TTC) in the computer center and when I was about to be finished, I assumed I saved the paper so I exit it out and after my wellness class I had gone back to the computer center and I had noticed my midterm essay was not in my document folder. There was nothing I and the computer staff can do, so now I am currently typing a whole knew midterm essay, and since I have a horrible memory I am not sure what I wrote about the
Joan seemed to accept this answer. “And how long have you lived here in Camelot?” she asked.
When I first started thinking about college schools I never thought about going to MSU or Ole Miss. I wanted to go to the bigger universities, but I knew I wouldn’t do well if I went there my first year. My high school did not prepare me enough for University, and I hadn’t decided on a major either. I choose East Central Community College (ECCC) as the school I would go to for many reasons, and when I got here I knew I made the right choice.
“A Single Story” could lead most of the people to dangerous consequences which limit their perspectives, thereby creating stereotypes to others and analyzing the problems wrong. Therefore, it’s important to have multiple views and stories about everything. As we live in a society that is full of diverse information, there are many ways to make much easier to get a variety of stories and most of the events that are happening now in the world than a hundred years ago, such as social media, newspaper, television. People could put their own ideas online to show others and others also could absorb various perspectives. This highly improves most of the people in avoiding having a single
The horse ride changed mike's opinion of his horse and himself because at first the was some trouble with getting him on the horse, but once he got on he started to enjoy himself and realize that just because he has a disability he doesn't have to limit himself.according to paragraph 1 it states how he felt or his opinion of getting on the horse. "No, stop it, I don't want to!" I yelled. Some of the horses in front of the barn looked at me, and all of the people stared, but I didn't care. Not being a sweet little angel like the disabled kids they show on TV is what gives my life meaning. I raised the volume of my voice enough to send birds flapping out of the shade trees. "You have no right! Isn't this supposed to be a free country?".
Theo Brown was so annoyed he might even had punched a hole in the wall. He had enough of Lena Birginghamen. She was always bullying him at his school and he was an extremely nice person. His two best friends Jake and Mia were surrounding him. Theo didn’t know what else to do so he…
My story would begin in fifth grade when I won the Central Ohio Writing Contest. My winning piece was about my grandfather, who lost a lot of his hearing at a young age. In 2011, he received a Cochlear Implant, an extraordinary hearing device that returned some of his lost hearing, changing his life.Prior to this contest, I never did much writing, but I began to love it. I loved how happy my piece made him; I loved telling his story. After winning this competition, my mom told me about journalism and I knew from that moment that I would set my goals to pursuing a career in it! As I fast-forward to 2016, I still have this dream. As a junior in high school, I write and report for my school newspaper. My goal is to tell stories: those that
It was just another Sunday morning. There were birds chirping, sun shining, people driving fords and Chevrolet's up and down the streets. When I got out of bed and went downstairs I saw that my family had already started breakfast and were all still at the table and talking faintly about something very quietly. My mother noticed me walk into the kitchen and told me that the rest of the family had just finished breakfast and that I could pull up a T.V. tray and watch Sing Along With Mitch with my older brother and sister and that she would make me some “Flapjacks” and be there in a flash. So I went into the den and my brother and sister were there talking and greeted me. I asked my brother why they were whispering and my mom shot him a look saying and he said “Never mind, it doesn't matter” and then I felt that
The starting line was filled with up to 100 people. Bodies pushing you to get to the front, men who are already somehow sweaty and people who are just excited to be there. My sister helped me get over the first wall and we started. The first hill was horrendous. I relied on my sister to push me up once my legs started failing me. But once we got to the woods part, I was able to go on by myself. Jess and I both decided to walk most of the obstacle course since we weren’t in the greatest shape but we all helped each other get through as many obstacles as we can. There were hurdles, a slanted wall, downhills, a net we had to climb, and more. Once we got to the barbed wire, there was our first water break. The barbed wire was almost a half a mile long and we had to crawl under it on our stomachs or however you wanted to crawl. There was so many people around you doing the same thing and all going at the same pace. We thankfully got water sprayed on us during it so we washed off the mud
