The evidence presents that Francie is growing up. She started to discover the truth about things which contradict her original, childish perspective. Time started passing by faster in her point of view, and because of that there is no time to stop and smell the flowers, or pay attention to every detail. Both of these things Francie noticed in Katie, and Katie, being an adult, Francie realized that she is slowly surrendering herself to the grown-up side. The initial conversation between her and Lane in the cafe is about their life at school. Once on the topic of teachers, Franny begins to insult hers because she believes they are not good enough to teach her because they are not “real poets.” Although, she can not explain what more she wants from them. This insatiable request is just her ego coming out in a way that she does not realize. Her childhood on “It’s a Wise Child” has spoiled her to the point that she picks apart each and every flaw in each person she meets. While talking to Zooey, Franny complains about a teacher which she believes tries to hard. She surmises that “he goes into the men’s room and musses [his hair] up before he comes to class” (Salinger 127).  This small annoyance further emphasizes her snobby nature.Ironically, when she admits that she quit the theatre, the reasoning of being “sick of ego, ego, ego” (Salinger 29) was egotistical in and of itself.  She was annoyed that the other people taking part in the play were not as educated as she was, or at least as she thought she was. I first watched The Zookeeper’s Wife when I was in the 6th grade. Although I did not understand all that was going on, I knew that it was retelling the horrors of the Holocaust. Six years later, this past summer, while sitting on the plane coming home from California, I came across the movie on the tiny, pixelated screen. Clicking on the movie, the summary read, “The Zookeeper's Wife tells the account of keepers of the Warsaw Zoo, Antonina and Jan Zabinski, who helped save hundreds of people and animals during the German invasion”. Sitting back in the less comfortable, cramped airplane seat, with pretzels in my hand and a blanket thrown over me, I pressed play.

In the short film, Frankenweenie, produced and co-written by Tim Burton, a boy named Viktor Frankenstein uses the power of science to revive his beloved dog, Sparky. In the beginning of the film, Viktor entertains his parents and some of the neighborhood kids with a film he created staring Sparky as a monster. Afterwards, Viktor and Sparky go outside to play ball in the front yard. Viktor is devastated when Sparky is hit by a car because the ball rolls into the street. The Frankenstein family buries Sparky in the town pet cemetery. At school Viktor learns that electrical impulses can make muscles move. He is inspired to use this knowledge to revive Sparky. Viktor builds an extravagant machine that will use a bolt of lightning in hopes of reviving Sparky. It works and Viktor is happy to have his best friend back. Sparky ventures into the neighborhood and unintentionally frightens some of the neighbors. The Frankensteins decide to stop the outrageous rumors by introducing Sparky to the neighbors. However, the neighbors become angry and scared causing Sparky run away. Viktor follows Sparky to a closed miniature golf course where they hide in an abandoned windmill. Viktor’s parents and an angry mob of neighbors arrive. One neighbor tries to see inside the windmill with a cigarette lighter, but accidentally sets it on fire. Inside the windmill in a panic Viktor knocks himself out. Sparky rescues him from the fire only to be caught in the falling debris. The neighbors realize that

Just as in the very beginning of the book, she seems to worship it. Even though she worships the jesus prayer and her pilgrim book, she doesn’t follow the journey that follows the pilgrim and the origin of the prayer. Again she contradicts herself. Franny had also quit theatre, which according to Zooey was the only thing she was really good at. She had loved it but hated the ‘immature’ audience.

In J.D Salinger’s Franny and Zooey, the theme of pride is heavily explored and is essential to the personality and development of the main characters. This is done through recounting the experiences of members of the Glass family, a household of intellectuals who never seem to be satisfied with their present state of being. A former star on the radio show “It’s a Wise Child”, the eldest sibling, Seymour, who committed suicide later in his lifetime, felt it his duty to act as a religious guide to his younger siblings and instills in them the values of Buddhism- a factor which later contributed to much dissatisfaction amongst his younger brother and sister. Moreover, Salinger stresses the excessive pride of Franny, who views her contemporaries as inferior, and the resultant detriment of such a temperament. Zooey’s egotistic nature is likewise explored, along with the negative impact of his disillusionment with his education and those around him.

Franny’s response is a series of fragments and broken-off sentences that span two pages. Two concepts are communicated simultaneously. First, the content of Franny’s speech. Second, the back-last or second-guessing that goes on within Franny’s head. The first is the more well-known and more controversial of the two. Franny has been critiqued for so-called shallow concerns. John Updike famously referred to Franny as, “a pretty college girl passing though a plausible moment of disgust” in his New York Times review of Franny and Zooey. He calls Franny “pretty” to demean her intelligence. He calls her “girl” to demean her perspective. His use of “plausible” indicates that he finds her character understandable. John Updike may be a wonderful author and an eloquent reviewer, but he will never understand Franny. I understood her when I read “Franny” for the first time. There is no trick to it, it is simply that she was speaking for me. Updike, well, perhaps Lane was speaking for him.

In the book Diary Of A Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul, written by Jeff Kinney, Greg is being dragged through the country in an uncomfortable car for a road trip. In this fiction book, Greg is on a long road trip because his mom looked through a summer fun magazine and saw things to do in it and she chose the road trip option. Of course, Greg and the rest of the family was not thrilled by this idea. The three topics addressed in this book are the protagonist, conflict, and characterization.

Floey has just turned thirteen and her aunt, who she has not seen for years, sends her the present of a training bra. Floey does not need this but poses for a picture which her friend sends to Aunt Sarah. Now Floey is afraid of meeting her aunt when she comes to her house for her sister’s wedding. After the wedding, Aunt Sarah leaves her two kids for two weeks, while she goes on a trip to Alaska, at Floey’s house and she is forced to look after her cousins.

The woman on the other side of the bed is a direct representation of Franny. The role the woman plays is like an alter ego projection. The patient in the bed next to Franny’s is very beautiful and looked identical to Franny because she had no hair, she was skinny and had very pale skin. Franny can relate to this nonexistent figure because they are going through the same things, the alternate version of Franny keeps her alive and they are equally alike IN>>>>>.

Zooey considered Lane as a symbol of phoniness and egotism in intellectual prowess and academics; which could be one of the reason of Franny's breakdown. Zooey is saying that Lane is fake while arguing with his mom, Bessie. Lane does not truly love Franny. He is fairly insensitive with Franny's religious breakdown, and always prefers to talk about himself, revealing his own selfishness.

Buddy’s importance in telling the story is to give the reader a different perspective. To Franny and Zooey’s biased way of seeing Franny’s reasons in following the Jesus prayer. Based on a reliable outsider’s perspective, Franny thinks the Jesus prayer will help her keeping calm and will give her a piece of Seymour. However, Zooey thinks Franny is only using the Jesus prayer to not have to deal with her problems. Zooey also thinks that if Franny is using the Jesus prayer she should really learn to understand it and do it for herself.
