After graduation, I plan to get my masters to become a Nurse Practitioner that specializes in Forensics. My patient populations include victims of sexual abuse, trauma , or any form of intentional injury on a person. I have always been interested in the health system as well as the legal system. Forensic nursing gives me the opportunity to participate in both systems. My interest in forensics came into play after many years of watching Law and Order SVU. For years, I have idolized Melinda Warner's character on the show as a medical examiner and she made me eager to learn more about forensics. A major complication I have noticed in the Forensics field is the nurses struggle with incorporating the different evidence with the care for each patient.
I am interested in becoming a member of the Evidence Recovery Team as well as help contribute to its growth inside the institution. I have been employed as a nurse with the Bureau of Prisons for three and a half years, I feel this is long enough to have formed a solid correctional foundation as well as learn policy. I have many years left in my career with the Bureau of Prisons, and I would love to be a part of the Evidence Recovery Team’s growth and progression. I feel I have important personality qualities and pertinent training to become a productive member of the Evidence Recovery Team. I have taken many science classes in my career path to become a nurse.
Participating in the 2016 Student Basic Jailor Academy will get me what I have been praying for all this year. This opportunity will basically get my “foot-in-the-door” to my future career aspirations and goals. I plan on being a forensic psychologist. If I get into this academy, it will push me forward into the world of criminal justice that I so very much longed to be in since I was a child. Making it through the academy will then help find a job that may coincide with my future career plan of being a forensic psychologist. Afterwards, I will have some experience that will help me further my education at my dream graduate school, the John Jay College of Criminal Justice. I have been praying, and working hard, just for this very opportunity
Reporter stated the following: I did a forensic interview with him (Jeffery) on today. He did not say when these incidents happened. He witnessed 15 year old boy (Corey) make a 16 year old girl (Arrianna Unknown) "touch down there and put her head down there with her mouth". This morning he witnessed Lane touch Amaria on her breasts on the top of her clothes. He said the staff knows about both incident but he did not say where they were. Ms. Anthony knows about it too. They call Ms. Anthony Ms. A. He said all of the kids get in fights. He said staff will try to break up the fights. He said his throat is still hurting because he was hit by an unknown child.
The Insanity defense is mentioned as confusing to the psychiatric and legal concept. Furthermore, it is explained that the word “insane” is more of a legal word, then a medical term, and therefor to prove a person or a criminal insane, one must find the mental condition, of a criminal, severely impaired to the point of losing one’s free will. A psychiatrist may be or may not able to determine such illness, and a jury’s decision solely based on a psychiatrists’ opinion may be grounded on unreliable evidence. Forensics is an extracurricular activity offered to students in 6th, 7th & 8th grade. The purpose of middle school forensics is to build self-confidence and oral competency by developing and practicing fundamental public speaking skills.
I always carry my phone, a phone charger, and gum. I'm sure the police could get into my phone and find information on my life that way. The use of forensic anthropology helped identify the victims by enabling a recreation of the face where the family of the victim could recognize and identify. People would probably describe me as having brown eyes, long blonde hair, and Italian features.
Working in the legal system and the Criminal Justice system is a dream and a commitment for me. I promised myself and the good Lord that I would pursue a degree in legal system/criminal justice system. My ultimate goal is to help the legal system and help refine the criminal justice system. These systems have failed so many people but I believe in the good of the system.
After I graduate high school, I want to become a Forensic Science Technician. There are many different pathways to go into Forensics. The path I will pursue is to begin my education in the Health Science Career Field in Diagnostic Services. From there I will go into the Human Services Career Field and will continue my education in Forensic By going into the health field before going into Human Services I will have an advantage by knowing more information on the human body.
As a senior in high school, the reality of entering the “real world” and job market is becoming more apparent. It is time to put our strategic and critical thinking skills into practice to help us create a plan after high school. I knew that I wanted my career to be associated with Forensic Science. However, I did not want to be the person to actually go capture the criminal and be on the clock anytime of the day or night. I wanted to be involved behind the scenes of a criminal case.
I swear I don't spend my Saturday's cutting up dead people. That's usually one of the first things I have to explain to people when I tell them I do forensics. I've had a huge number of great experiences with forensics throughout my years competing, as well as a few that were less than perfect, to say the least. The combination of the two has been a big part of who I am though, and I wouldn't trade it for anything.
In college I want to pursue Forensic Psychology and Criminal Justice with a concentration in victim services. I want to use the skills I learn in school and help society as well as the Latino community. I want to support, console and connect with victims of PTSD and household abuse. I want to help women in abusive and reckless relationship find confidence to stand up and surrender. I would like to advocate for the children in these abusive households and to help them cope with the emotional psychological effects that they may be going through.
Psychology has always had a direct impact on my life for many years for example, I myself have had counselling sessions for anxiety. Experiencing this has given me a desire to work with people in understanding their behaviour and how their minds work to be able to empower individuals to lead better lives. My own personal experience with anxiety has also intrigued me into thinking why I think the way I do and what can be put into action to improve my circumstances.
I desire to pursue a career in Forensic Psychology because I am interested in how the law is applied to psychology. I understand I have four years to obtain my undergraduate degree, but it is important for me to build my empire as a an undergraduate student. Therefore, I am well equipped for graduate school and my career as a Forensic Psychologist. I do plan on attending graduate school after I graduate with my undergraduate degree. While in graduate school, I will be working towards a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology because it is required in order to go further in my Forensic Psychology career.
I always wanted to learn new things. I get curious about knowing people's way of thinking and their behavior. humans were my first interest. learning science from a young age made me more curious. how human anatomy is so interesting.
1). Forensic Psychology is the application of the theories of psychology to law and the legal system. Issues of violence and its impact on individuals and/or groups delineate the main and central concerns in Forensics within the adult, juvenile, civil, and family domains. Forensic psychologists provide advice to legislators, judges, correctional officers, lawyers, and the police. They are called upon, for example, to serve as an expert witness, diagnose and treat incarcerated and probationed offenders, and screen and evaluate personnel in the law enforcement and judicial systems. Forensics encompasses a wide range of academic orientation. Synonyms for Forensic psychologists include criminal psychologist,
