I am interested in becoming a member of the Evidence Recovery Team as well as help contribute to its growth inside the institution. I have been employed as a nurse with the Bureau of Prisons for three and a half years, I feel this is long enough to have formed a solid correctional foundation as well as learn policy. I have many years left in my career with the Bureau of Prisons, and I would love to be a part of the Evidence Recovery Team’s growth and progression. I feel I have important personality qualities and pertinent training to become a productive member of the Evidence Recovery Team. I have taken many science classes in my career path to become a nurse. Those classes have taught me the basics of collecting and analyzing data, as well
I am writing to you with interest of joining your team in the position ‘New Graduate Rehab RN’. I learned of the position from a dear friend of mine who is currently a member of your team. I plan to graduate from nursing school this upcoming May and am interested in this position because I believe that it will help further my skills, education and shape me into an outstanding nurse.
The two ways that enhanced my experience of taking this class are learning to get all the facts of
Greetings, I am Dexter Bolding I recently earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from California State University, Dominguez Hills. Prior to this, I spent nearly two decades in the United States Marine Corps. In the Marines I had an opportunity to manage at different levels, which included the managing of a thirty-three Marine Aircraft Firefighting Section, managing a five man Marine Corps Recruiting Office, culminating in me spending the last seven years directing the Marine Corps Substance Abuse Program as the Substance Abuse Control Officer and Insructor aboard the Marine Corps Air Station Miramar.
For me, school is more than just grades, and while undoubtedly it is a large component, I want to soak up all the knowledge I can. Being in college it is a time to start understanding and putting into practice what you learn. My goal is that by enjoying the learning process my grades will follow, and so far they have. With my college degree I plan on pursuing a career in psychology, and ultimately want to get my Ph.D. in forensic psychology. To be honest it took me a while to find my career path. I waited nine years after graduating high school to continue my education and psychology had always stuck in the back of my mind during that time. I also realized subjects such as law and criminology piqued my interest. When I first started at community
As far as knowledge learned from lower level courses are concerned, I used this information every single day while on my internship. Although most students see them as merely the basic classes that we just need to get through, they come to be extremely relevant over the course of working in the field. Everything from estimating to materials and methods come into play and it is always exciting to see the knowledge learned in those classes come to life in the real world.
Filing records. Checking documents. Delivering materials. The elements of a classic volunteering experience at the hospital. I anticipated the same dull tasks as I walked into the Day Surgery department at the Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Irving. Instead, my fervor for neurosurgery was met with an opportunity to watch a craniotomy. An enduring desire to observe a surgeon was actualized and I was delighted.
Analysing data during biology and maths lessons has helped improve my interpretation and analytical skills. Studying A level maths has improved my problem solving skills, which will come into use for the problem based learning element of the degree course. Furthermore, my Health and Social Care course has taught me essential communication skills needed to
The Courts usually allow the discovery process to be very open. The disclosure of evidence helps the offender make well-informed decisions and creates fewer surprises when it comes to trial. Some evidence that must be shared by the courts to the defendants is any statement made by the defendant to the arresting police officers, Audio recorded statements, Testimonies, any criminal record, Books, papers, documents, photographs, Information from a physical and mental examination. The offender has the right to know of any exculpatory evidence. That is evidence that goes in favor of the offender and can usually help clear him. The Courts don’t typically want the government covering up any evidence that could help prove the defendant didn’t commit
In recent years, the proliferation of the popularity of crime investigation shows have risen concerns regarding the fairness of our criminal justice system. The increased use of the courtroom as the setting of drama by the media and the consistent narration employed to dramatize the show has blurred reality from fiction for the everyday citizens. Now that crime shows are so popular, CSI being the most watched TV show in the world with 69 million regular viewers worldwide; many lawyers, judges and other trained professionals are concerned that this increased exposure to unrealistic content regarding the law have given jurors an unrealistic expectation of evidence presented in court. That this has been the basis of jurors unfairly freeing
I feel like a good majority of the classes I have taken have helped me grow a lot as a person.
My experiences have sharpened my assessment skills, honed my knowledge of the disease process, and allowed me autonomy I would not be afforded in other branches of nursing. In the correctional
Psychology has always had a direct impact on my life for many years for example, I myself have had counselling sessions for anxiety. Experiencing this has given me a desire to work with people in understanding their behaviour and how their minds work to be able to empower individuals to lead better lives. My own personal experience with anxiety has also intrigued me into thinking why I think the way I do and what can be put into action to improve my circumstances.
The classes I have taken for the certificate continued to foster my interest in these subjects and
1. I grew up in Richmond, California and neither of my parents graduated from high school. Richmond is full of gang violence, drugs, and poverty. I did not know anyone in my community who went to college, so I wanted to be first. I started volunteering at a local Community Center working with at- risk youth who were struggling with school, gangs and addiction.
I have learned so much in this class to prepare me for a successful college experience. There were some topics that caught my attention more than others. Such as, time and stress management, University resources, and critical thinking.
