For this assignment I read the book reviews Limits of Endurance ‘Defiant,’ by Alvin Townley; He Accused ‘An Officer and a Spy,’ by Robert Harris; Breaking In ‘The Burglary,’ by Betty Medsger. For the book review Limits of Endurance ‘Defiant,’ by Alvin Townley the reviewer seem to have thought fondly of this book while writing majority positive things about this novel. The review He Accused which went over the novel ‘An Officer and a Spy,’ by Robert Harris seemed to be majority mixed to the point where there are good and bad things through out this review. Lastly the review Breaking In that went over ‘The Burglary,’ by Betty Medsger seemed to have had a positive review.
After reviewing the three professional reviews I could tell that the

The reviews liked several different things that were in the book. Some of the things in the book Book Thief were Liesel reading to the neighbors sitting terrified in a basement waiting for the bombs to fall around them, A snowball fight in a basement, and Mama arriving at school to "yell" at Liesel. Some of the events in this book have made many people love this book. People love have this book because of the hope, the advancement of characters, and the complexity of the read. For the book The Maze Runner (Maze Runner Series #1) the reviews are mostly negative. People that read this book have negative reviews because they compare it to stories that they really love but this story have none of those aspects. ktpetals felt that the plot was not developed fully and it had holes through out the story. The characters seemed to be flat and I made it seem like they were not real in any way. According to my uncle he reads to learn and get away from real world problems. “Focuses you on the characters problems, and away from your own petty problems.” This is used so that people can have a relief form everything and enjoy themselves. He also said that people love them more than reality because people
The reviews I found were from those who have read the book. Here are just a few of what I found:
The book is a good book because it makes you ask questions while you're reading it but what's happening and to get a better understanding on what's happening in the story. Like in my book the characters wonder if their dad is going to come home from the war and if he's alive or dead. This makes you question if he is really dead or alive
I think the best parts of the book are where you see Liesel grow and understand the difficult times that she lives in with her limited knowledge of life. Something I really enjoyed this book was the characterization and background of the characters. One of the best parts of the book is when we see the first time Liesel ever steal a book, after her young brother Werner died on the train ride to their new foster parents’ home. She was with her mother who could not support her two children after Liesel’s father was accused of being a ‘communist’. They stop at a graveyard where a young gravedigger buries Werner as his family sobs over him. After this, the narrator describes Liesel seeing the dropped book “The Grave Diggers Manual”, and tucking it into her clothing (Zusak 54). This is a turning point where we can see Liesel’s personality developing as she seeks comfort in her life from sorrow, “The book thief had struck for the first time – the beginning of an illustrious career.” (Zusak 19). The worst part of the book was arguably the very end. Although a terrible end to the story is foreshadowed continually throughout the book, it still comes as a shock when you find out the fate of the characters. We find that after all of the characters had
5. RATING: Rate this book on a scale of 1 to 10. What qualities of a good book does this novel demonstrate or not demonstrate? Why did you give this rating? What was your favorite part and why? Who would enjoy this
Lastly in The Book Thief, books reminded Liesel of the last time she saw her mother and brother which also kept her calm after her nightmares and help develop a bond between Liesel and the mayor's wife. The stealing of books made Liesel
shows us how followed his dreams and was determined to also do them. This novelle also gives us a thought of how we should see life compared to everyone else & if life comes with wanting to fit fit in with everyone else. When you think of someone going the other direction or not fitting in,it makes them feel different.
As the overall book, I actually kind of liked it because it was kind of hard to understand because they couldn’t use “I” and I like challenges. They had to use “We” instead of using “I” to explain they self or the story. The book was okay as a whole but still kind of hard to understand I got kind of irritated after a while, while I was reading the book because of the way it was written.
B. Its worst feature: I think this book’s worst feature is that it is not very interesting. This book doesn’t keep your attention. On various occasions the author goes into so much depth that the reader forgets the main idea that he is trying to get across. I found myself reading the same lines over and over because I wasn’t paying attention and wasn’t really reading it.
Reading novels is my answer to every obstacle and every complication that I ever experience. I recall my elder’s claiming I will not understand anything at all The Great Gatsby says when I first bought it. I was ten the first time I read The Great Gatsby, and till now I have read it thirteen times. At the end of each book I read I analyze them, and if they come to be one of my favorites, I even write a paper for myself. Reading novels taught me to understand people, it inspired me to learn more. Every book I finish leaves me longing for
The Transtheoretical Model is made for individuals to adapt to and maintain a heal behavior change. For example, an individual who has stopped smoking for the past six months has reached the maintenance stage in which chances of relapse are low. Although chances of relapse are low there is still a chance the person may fall back into their old behavior. However, if the individual has reached a stage where they have no temptation for their old habits and they have reached 100% self-efficacy then they have reached the termination stage. This is a very difficult stage to reach since at this stage the behavior change will remain permanently and where relapse does not occur.
He says that the best books to read are that ones that young people read. Implying that we dont have to waste our time with these huge chapter books and their fancy vocabulary. The simplified ones are better.”[3]
America is in a disaster and one of the reasons why it is is because of Trump. Trump is America’s 45th president, but most of the media resent him. In my opinion, I think the media is sometimes unfair to Trump since it can occasionally go overboard and exaggerate the atrocious behavior in Trump, but it’s also Trump’s fault for his erroneous and impulsive resolutions, which makes the media dislike him.
Reviews are meant to show a person’s judgment on a specific topic. People make reviews to help the audience decide if they should buy a product or not. They list various criteria and state the pros and cons of the subject. Regardless of if the subject is great or poor; a review gives suggestions on how the topic could be improved. Most reviews have strengths and weaknesses depending on how well they know the topic or their experience in reviewing.
The Book Thief written by Markus Zusak shows how the impact on the power of language has on Liesel Meimeger through the structure of the novel. The structure of the novel shows the development of the character Liesel, highlighting the impact of the power of language. In her development, she finds the ability to express herself as well as to connect to others. Books become a comfort to her and heal her, they help her grow strong relationships with other characters in her life. However, she also sees the damage words have caused through Nazi propaganda, understanding that Hitler 's words have been the cause of suffering of the people in her life. Despite this, the structure of the novel shows the ability of the character to understand that
In September of 2006, The Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) issued Statement of Financial Accounting Standards No. 157: Fair Value Measurements ("FAS 157") to provide guidance about how entities should determine fair value estimations for financial reporting purposes. These guidelines coincide with the conceptual framework and provide a baseline for accounting professionals to gauge the true worth of an asset. The goal of the conceptual framework to provide clear concise information across the accounting profession. It allows regulators to provide a uniform standard to individuals and companies, as well as providing a platform to roll out future account developments in the field. However, despite the best efforts of regulators, there is always bumps on the road to providing a smooth and compliant framework for accountants.
