Fooball I took the snap I faked a run And started to drop back A man broke back to sack me I thought that I was done But nothing ever hit me I knew I had to throw but couldn't see All I saw was the number 99 As a linebacker came to me He was as big as a haybale Probably just as heavy as one too I went down but managed to throw it to the side It now was second and ten I lift my knee and take the snap I drop back and bomb one left My player makes a catch Which brings us to field goal range Snap spot up and good And we have one another
The book "8 Ball Chicks," written by Gini Sikes is a thrilling yet shocking book about girls in gangs. The book explains in horrific detail the roles and existences of the girls in these gangs. Sikes traveled to several different cities to experience the life of girl gangsters. She traveled to Los Angeles, San Antonio, and Milwaukee. Through these travels, she became immersed in the lifestyles of each gang and had first hand accounts on what it was like to be in a gang.
It was dead silent as the ball sat in the air and as if time had stopped. It was December of 2015, I was 13, my team and I was playing for 3rd place in the Colt Classic Tournament. It was a night game at Barrington Station High School. We were playing the Barrington Colts, which was weird considering they are playing for 3rd in their own tournament that they were hosting, before the game, I was talking to some of my teammates Aaron Pattis, Stephen Harris, Bradley Jenkins, Ayden Anderson and I were talking before the game, going into that game we speculated that we had this game in the bag easily as a result of how well our team was playing. Little did we know, we had another problem coming.
The score was tied 2:2, and the clock was winding down like a time bomb. I had the ball. I dribbled it past the halfway line on the left side of the field, and saw my teammate who I will call Bob on the other side of the field. Bob was slower than a turtle, and he would not have the speed necessary to beat the defense, so instead of passing to him, I booted the ball as hard as I could, towards the opposing goal. The ball curved towards the right, and hit the top left corner of the net. I had scored!
It was first down and they were on the 40 yard line there running back was a 140 pound beast, and in 7th grade. They hiked the ball handed it off to the running back no one could stop him, Touchdowns ,They kicked it off i got it then ran it to about the 50 yard line then got tackled Next my brother says “Hike” everyone goes out for a pass he throws it up and it was intercepted.
My article discussed the NFL using the popularity of social media to stream their games on Twitter; as well as talked about the contract with BAMtech extending to future plans for the NBA and MLB to do the same. Twitter had 2.1 million viewers of the New York Jets vs Buffalo Bills Thursday night NFL game. Including a pregame show beforehand Twitter had 2.3 million; these consistently growing leagues have found yet another avenue to broaden their product to more countries with streaming on social media. With the exception of a few outliers complaining about the video feed buffering the debut of Thursday Night Football on Twitter was a step in the right direction for sports streaming on Twitter.
Stanley Kubrick’s sexual parody, Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb, illustrates an unfathomed nuclear catastrophe. Released in the midst of the Cold War, this 1964 film satirizes the heightened tensions between America and Russia. Many sexual insinuations are implemented to ridicule the serious issue of a global nuclear holocaust, in an effort to countervail the terror that plagued America at that time. Organizing principles, such as Kubrick’s blunt political attitudes about the absurdity of war and the satirical genre, are echoed by the film style of his anti-war black comedy, Dr. Strangelove.
The Wildcats tackled S.A.S.H at the Wildcats own 47 yard line. 1st and 10 S.A.S.H. gets a 40 yard run. Coach puts me in at defensive end. Next play they score a 10 yard rushing TD. The score is now 7-0. Wildcats are at their own 40 yard line. Next play their is a bad snap. S.A.S.H recovers the football at the Wildcats 36 yard line.
As I stepped on the field, I knew the next few minutes could make or break my college options. Although I was only a freshman, if I were able to make varsity, college would be closer in reach. The first feed I had from behind cage was low, my stick drug the ground as if I was using a shovel, I cradled through the ball and somehow came up with it, no problem. My next challenge was to finish the shot. As I made a fake and the ball plummeted to the ground, I knew I needed to step up my game. The second pass came right into the pocket of my stick, I faked low and shot high, directly into the top corner of the goal. I slowly jogged off the field, behind me I faintly heard “way to go kid”, I knew it must have been the varsity coach.

It was the last inning, the count was two balls and two strikes with two outs. Our catcher calls a curveball, I move three steps to my right. Alex is in the stretch, he starts his motion towards home, the runner on first breaks for second base. The pitch is delivered and the ball is hit directly up the middle and over the pitcher’s head, coming from shortstop, I break to my left, I am about to catch the ball when I glance at the runner. He was sliding right into me, I caught the ball, jumped up, and threw the ball while in mid-air. It was a perfect throw, right to the first baseman’s chest. That was it, the game was over, we had just beaten the number one team in the country to advance to the world series! We all threw
For the national anthem after the national anthem it was game time I had to jump ball. I was talking to my self saying you got this all you have to do is over jump her so the referee tossed the ball in the air. I jump and tapped the
It all happened May 5 School just ended my friends and I were wondering what to do, so we decided to walk to Taco Bell to get something to eat. We were there for at least an hour before we left. One of us mentioned lets go play football at Kastner. We got there and we just started to throw the ball to each other. We decide to do 1v1 so we all went through a couple times, and next I'm up. My friend says "ready go hit", I take off running a streak flew right past him my friend throws the ball a little short so I run back to go get it. I see the ball in the air I jumped up with one hand and grabbed it and brought it in, but I landed on my stomach really hard.
We were playing to 30, It was 28-0 Brayden. I had the ball, I shot it, I heard the sound of the ball hitting his hands, again. It was his ball now, he dribbled past me I ran up
This is where the story starts to spiral downwards. It was about five minutes into the first quarter and we ran up the middle. I was the designated lead blocker. I lunged at the linebacker full force and knocked him down. I had so much momentum going towards him that I went straight to the
“goalies ready?” they nodded, then the screeching whistle blew.I played a big ball to the corner flag and the middy crossed it in then,
