Why do you believe your background and experience make you the best fit for Fluvanna County Public Schools? I have over twenty-eight years of service in education. I have served as teacher, assistant principal, principal, director, assistant superintendent, and interim superintendent during my time as an educator. Although I have been in a variety of educational roles, none have been as rewarding as my last six years in Fluvanna. I have worked hard and with sincere passion to get to know the community and staff, so I am better equipped to assist with concerns or issues. I have forged partnerships with the Board of Supervisors and the County Administrator. I have attended multiple meetings throughout Fluvanna over the years with the Chamber of Commerce, Friends of Fluvanna, Rotary, and other civic based organizations. I know many individuals in local law enforcement and I am proud to be able to call the Fluvanna Sheriff a friend. I feel the relationships I have established through my tenure are vital to my future success should I be chosen …show more content…
I have orchestrated a multi-million dollar capital improvement plan that supports the longevity of the buildings. Along with my personal experiences in operations, I have been able to problem solve many of the potential issues that come with aging construction. I feel my mathematics background has allowed me to understand the complexities in Fluvanna’s budget. I believe my knowledge of the specific numbers from the state and locality give me a distinct advantage in Fluvanna. I have personally witnessed and worked through difficulties within our school system’s budget while serving as assistant superintendent. All the while, I kept the children’s and staff’s success on the forefront of my heart to guide my decisions each day. I think my firsthand, in-depth, and detailed awareness of Fluvanna’s finances makes me a true candidate for the

Saginaw Public School District, located in Saginaw Michigan is the urban school district of Saginaw, Michigan. The district has approximately 7,500 students and operates 15 schools which include, 10 elementary schools, 1 middle school and 3 high schools. Over the past 10 years there has been a drastic decrease in student enrollment. The main cause of the decrease in enrollment include Michigan’s failing economy. The closing of automobile factories has resulted in a huge decrease in the city of Saginaw’s populations. During the past 10 years there has also been closing of many schools in the Saginaw Public School District. The district is also operating in a deficit and has been required by the state of Michigan to decide a plan to eliminate
I recommend that the classrooms throughout the Federal Way District School System comply with The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standards. All classrooms should be tested. If the noise level in an unoccupied classroom exceeds 35 dBA it should be modified to meet the recommended and appropriate acoustical levels.

I am writing as a concerned Loudoun County parent, with two children attending Catoctin Elementary School, and a daughter who attends JL Simpson Middle School. As you are aware, the Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Purdue is visiting Catoctin Elementary school today. In the past Loudoun County schools have hosted administration officials from both political parties; however, I cannot recall a time when a major national policy announcement perceived as controversial was enacted on one of these visits during school hours.
The case I chose was one that took place in Houston, TX, in the Houston Independent School District. I chose it because Houston is where I was born and grew up, and I wanted to use a case that felt close to home for me. This case was about a student who, throughout the course of about two years, displayed several signs of aggression, defiance, and general misbehavior both in class and at home. The misbehaviors ranged from “pestering and irritating” his/her siblings at home, throwing tantrums, and becoming easily upset or angered. The student also led a lonely life, both in class and school, expressing dislike and resentment towards siblings and other family members, as well as stating that student “feels student has no friends.” In class, the

I am an excellent candidate to assist school leadership with surpassing its annual goal. As a Turn Around administrator, I developed the skills and systems to review school improvement plans, analyze and disaggregate data, look for trends and gaps and implement scientific researched based intervention. I worked with principals to implement Response to Intervention (RtI) program. At the end of the program was a significant increase in student proficiency rate on formative and summative assessments. I used different strategies to address concerns with achievement gaps on formative and summative assessment, student and staff discipline and attendance and community involvement. I supported and implemented several mentoring programs. Several lives
Roxboro Community School is a college preparatory school, it’s main focus is to ready you for the outside world. Here, we are given harder assignments in a short period of time to ready us for college level work. We have many Advanced Placement course in which we can take. Technology also plays a large role in my educational experience. We started learning how to type in second grade, making it easier to accomplish larger tasks later on in life. Tests on paper have mostly been replaced with tests on a computer. All of our research mostly comes from the internet rather than books. For two weeks, I studied abroad in Oviedo, Spain spring break of my junior year. Although it was not a long period of time I still got to experience the world, meet
The Hempfield Area School District has board policy – number 215, which outlines attendance and disciplinary issues. The district also publishes a handbook that outlines those attendance and disciplinary items in detail. However, other than a mention of a successful student needs to be in school there seems to be no school related policies or publications that directly tie attendance to grades.
I am excited to talk about my unique qualifications for the Office of Sheriff. I bring over 30+ years of law enforcement experience, as do several of the other candidates. However, unlike the other candidates, I have and am actively involved with the sheriff’s office and the community since I began serving with the Elbert County Sheriff’s Office(ECSO). From the beginning, I have made a strong effort to meet members of the community in order to understand both their needs and concerns.
There are several reasons I feel I would be a quality candidate for this position. My past personal experience included being a military wife for 23 years. It allowed me to travel and experience a variety of cultures but more importantly it taught me how to adapt. Moving every few years has given me invaluable lifetime experience, outstanding organizational skills and the ability to prioritize. As a volunteer Girl Scout leader/Service Unit Manager, I was a dedicated team player and learned to remain calm and gracious under pressure while dealing with large groups of children and adults. As a PTA president I collaborated with school staff, administration, and coordinated school events all requiring strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Interviewing these six people really opened by eyes to how little our community understands about how our district spends their tax dollars. I am going to report my findings by summarizing each interview, then I will give a brief reflection of the interview process, and at the end I will give recommendations for our school to improve collaboration with the community and how they could better inform tax payers in regards to how the school obtains funds and allocates
