First Diary Of Anne Frank

The play version of The Diary of Anne Frank tells the story of a girl named Anne who is hidden away in an attic during the Holocaust. In this play, Anne struggles every day of staying alive and could get caught by the Green Police anyday with seven other people. As the play grows more popular, a book named “Night” has very similar features to the play. In this book, it talks about a man named Elie Wiesel who’s trying to survive the horrors of concentration camps with his dad during the Holocaust. Although Elie Wiesel and Anne Frank are in two different places struggling to survive the Holocaust, they both try to make the most of it and are thankful for what they have.

A multitude of people nowadays choose their favorite songs because of how they sound and the attractiveness of the singer. However, some people select their favorite songs because of its appeal by relating to their personalities and feelings. Just as songs can relate to people, they can express countless similarities with stories as well. In the play version of The Diary of Anne Frank we follow a young teenager named Anne struggling to grow up. As she is growing up the holocaust starts and she is forced to go into hiding for a few years. A similar novella titled Night follows Elie Weisel during his struggle during the Holocaust. This book is straight from Elie many years after the Holocaust, where he writes about all the pain and torture he went through as a teenager in concentration camps. Although Anne Frank and Elie Weisel didn’t go through the same torture and had different focuses, both felt value in their father and strength because of him.

Summary: In the beginning of the graphic novel, the authors depict the events of Anne’s parents, Edith and Otto. The book continues to depict snapshots of her life including, Anne’s beginning years in Frankfurt, her families immigration to Amsterdam, her view of the war. At the conclusion of the book the audience is exposed to her last years in the Annex where the Frank family was betrayed by an unknown source and reported to the German Security Police, where they were later deported to a concentration camp.The conclusion of the graphic novel, depicts her eventual death and the survival of her father, which lead to the publication of Anne’s diary.

In the first chapter of the Diary of Anne Frank, from dates June 14, 1942, to July 9, 1942, she starts to first talk about naming her diary “kitty”(page 3). She then goes on to talk about how she enjoyed her last weeks of freedom and why her father decided to go into hiding. This was all started when the family received a letter requesting the presence of her “sister in a concentration camp” (page 16). Her father realizes it 's a trick to put her into a concentration camp and forces them into the secret rooms behind the bookcase where Anne family and friends would begin hiding. These first few entries are staring to describe the family 's struggles and how joyful and willing Anne really is.

In July of 1994, she wrote in her diary, “In spite of everything, I still believe that people are truly good at heart.” This quote shows that Anne was intelligent, brave, and optimistic, and in several ways. Anne received her diary on her 13th birthday in 1942. She liked to call it "Kitty"("Anne Frank and other Jews"). So while she was writing, and re-writing her diary, she had the mindset that someday others were going to be reading it, and so she wrote as best she could due to her drive, and her longing to be famous.
