Firefighter III Joseph K. Wilson is a valuable member of our crew, and his teamwork is apparent in his eagerness to lend help whenever needed. For example, Firefighter Lieutenant Charles Eggers conveyed how impressed he was with Firefighter III Wilson's performance at a structure fire on August 15, 2015. He praised Firefighter III Wilson for being instrumental in the quick stabilization of the incident, in which crews were able to prevent a significant amount of property and content loss for the homeowner. Similarly, Firefighter III Wilson has demonstrated grace, patience and restraint in dealing with difficult personnel issues over the past year, showing maturity in handling conflict. When frustrated, Firefighter III Wilson is able to remove
I recommend the book Firestarter because the book has so much excitement. The book also has a lot of mystery. you don’t know what will happen next and you don’t know what happened back in the past. The characters always talk about their past and it explain only a little bit about it. There is so much thrill in the book there is some crazy stuff that happens in the book like how the FBI and CIA follow the dad and daughter. The books excitement is when Andy, the dad, and Charlie, the daughter, were walking down New York late at night and they were being followed. Andy kept trying to get a cab in the middle of the city. When Andy finally got a cab the people who were following him got out the car and tried to stop him from leaving they yelled police stop and Andy told the taxi driver to step on it.
Vahan and his family are caught in the middle of the Armenian Genocide. In the book, Forgotten Fire, by Adam Bagdasarian, Sarkis Kendrian is a well respected Armenian mandarin of the city of Bitlis with several children and very little to worry about. That, of course, was until the beginning of the Armenian Genocide. Just after the beginning of it, multiple military personnel showed up at the front door of the home of Sarkis. They said he was wanted by the government and even though he knew that was not true he went with it. He, along with many other men from his town, were taken into the streets where they were killed. Shortly after, two of Vahan’s older brothers were taken behind the house and killed as well. This left the mother, Vahan, and his sisters and brother on their own as they were taken by the military along with many other members
When people think Appalachia, they think of West Virginia, but the Appalachian Mountains stretch far from West Virginia and the people living in their hills have a shared cultural heritage that is evident no matter what state they are a part of.
I would disagree with the statement that "A prudent fire chief steers clear of politics.” All fire departments run on some kind of funding. Without the proper funding then the department either cannot adequately staff apparatus or are forced to cut back in response abilities or additional programs and personnel. Money for funding often comes from the political area and government programs. This is just one of the crucial reasons that "A prudent fire chief" would actually in fact be well involved in politics, creating relationships with individuals that could grow to be influential in decision making. In addition, to overseeing all operational aspects of the department, a chief is a representative of the department
During the month of October, 2008 we lost another fire fighter in a residential structure fire. The Victim was a 24 Y/O male fire fighter from Alabama who had been a volunteer with the department for two years. The firefighter training seemed to be standard for a new volunteer in the area which he served. As always it is tragic to lose a fire fighter and as always we try to learn from it.
“Words of Fire,” by Anthony Collings, details the lives of different journalists in regards to free press and covering potentially dangerous stories. Anthony Collings is a former CNN reporter who shifted his focus from reporting to telling the story of journalists who have come under fire in a power struggle between government and free press. Collings puts free press into a spectrum, on one side there is the United States, where the press is largely free, and on the other side there are places like North Korea or China where press is largely restricted by the government. Collings does not focus on these extremes, but rather the places in the middle where there is an ongoing struggle between state power.
Fire district 13 is located in the forested valleys and steep foothills of the Cascade Mountain Range at the base of Mount St. Helens. Access to our district, primarily reached by one main county road, is limited. With automatic mutual aid to neighboring districts with, major rail, and freeway- interoperability is key. Located above the Cascadia Subduction zone, Clark County is due for a catastrophic earthquake. The area that includes fire district 13 is a transitional zone between unoccupied forest land and human development. Being a part of the wildland urban interface zone puts us at a higher risk for wildfires.

Recently, I just finished reading Through The Fire by Shawn Grady, Shawn has served for than a decade as a firefighter and paramedic in Reno, NV, where he lives with his wife and three children. He was named “most promising writer” at the 2008 Mt. Hermon writers conference. This is his debut novel.
Genocides are beyond erratic, beyond inhumane, and beyond cruel. In truth, the systematic killing of a group of people because of their religion, color, race, etc. is absolutely preposterous! Therefore, it is absolutely important and essential that we learn about past genocides in human history to avoid and never repeat them again. For that purpose, I chose to read Forgotten Fire by Adam Bagdasarian, a fiction book based on a true story of the life of a young boy who grew up during the Armenian Genocide. Forgotten Fire was recognized as a National Book Award Finalist, further attracting me to read it, although, that was not necessary in order for me to choose this book because I wanted to educate myself about this first modern genocide that not everyone knows about.
The title Chaos stands for Care, Health, Avoidance, Opposing, Safety of People. To being with the inspiration piece for this paper is the documentary movie title Escape Fire, which was produced by Matthew Heinemann and Susan Froemke. The video is based on results from before and during 2012. This allowed for one to wonder how this can apply to present day health care. It is easy to understand it is very expensive even just for a healthy meal let alone purchasing health insurance for someone's wellbeing.
For years if not decades, firefighters have responded to a reported structure fire that turned out to be a fully involved single room. This fire scenario requires a core set of fire tactics and skills to control and extinguished the fire, but is it this simple? Perhaps twenty years it may have been, but new dangers are lurking in every scenario and may have detrimental outcomes for unsuspecting and unaware firefighters and victims. The National Institute of Science and Technology (NIST) agency along with the Underwriters Laboratory (UL) have been conducting research to understand fire behavior and fire dynamics. This research is providing firefighters with new information about how and why
History can be presented in many different ways. In the two eyewitness accounts by Harry Senior and Mrs. D. H. Bishop and the article by Hanson Baldwin, they tell different stories about what happened on the Titanic. The ship was supposedly “unsinkable.” The authors’ perspectives affect the details that they include in their accounts of the sinking of the Titanic.
We are the most technically advanced nation in the free world but yet we have not been able to reduce the number of firefighter fatalities over the years. Its one of the great mysteries of the world today. Our gear is better than what they wore thirty years ago, its better than what they wore ten years ago and we still lose an average of one hundred firefighters every year. I know that not all are dying in structure fires but just one is one too many.
Candidate Ans performed his operation brief to his fire team prior to accomplishing the mission. He also displayed a good understanding of the content as he was able to effectively ensure each member understood all aspects of the operations order. SNC had his fire team perform the column while navigating through the terrain. Point of friction came early for SNC as the evaluator notice unfamiliar terrain features and brought to the attention of the fire team leader. After doing an assessment of the area, SNC referred to his compass and noticed that they were traveling 100 degrees off course. At this time, SNC panicked and sought assistance from his fire team who didn’t have a rationale way to fixing the situation. The focus of the exercise
