All of these stories are frequent news that we here today In Garner, but the one that seeks our attention is the wildfire. The most important situation that they are worried about as of today in Tennessee would be the vast wildfire.

Cigarettes are one of the main cause of wildfires, the other is camp fires not being extinguished properly, that is 90% of wildfires are caused by human mistakes Joyce (2017). The Texas Panhandle is going through a drought, while everyone is praying for rain. Once a wildfire starts it is very hard to control, even with the hard-working fire fighters. There are many other helpful individuals that track the signs of wildfires, such as the National Park Service.

In order to avoid danger of suffocation please make sure that bags and wrappers are kept far away from babies and young children at all times. Adults should keep the play area tidy and clean at all times so that babies and young children stay safe from harmful products and parts.

Fires, heaters, electric sockets, wires and leads are properly guarded and the children are taught not to touch them.

According to Mark Twain, director of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, two local teenagers have been charged with aggravated arson in an ongoing investigation into last week’s East Tennessee wildfires that spread into Gatlinburg, killed 14 people and injured over 150 others.

According to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), there were approximately 323,900 reported cases of arson in 2005 (U.S. Fire Administration, 2009). These arsons resulted in 493 deaths, including three firefighters, 1,500 civilian injuries, and the injury of 7,600 firefighters, as well over $1.1 billion in property damage (U.S. Fire Administration, 2009).

In the morning we need to make sure that all the windows and blinds are open to give the room ventilation and the cords are tucked up high so the children cant harm themselves. We also need to make sure that the fire door is open to ensure that we would not be at risk if we needed to get out immediately. Throughout the day we need to make sure that the room is tidied quite often in case of a fire. In the evening it is important for us to make sure that the room is clean and tidied with activities set out for the next morning for the children to come in and play. A risk assessment is also done in the garden every time the children go out, this is to make sure that there is nothing in the garden that the children could harm themseleves on. Once all these risk assessments are done we need to initial or sign with the time that we done these risk assessment.
