The person I chose for this interview was my father, Vathana Ean. I chose my father because he has seen the changes that have happened in Canada for thirty years, he has seen the beginning and rise of technology, and has been using it for the past twenty years in his job. He has seen the slow shifts of society, the trends that have come and go, and the situations in the past arise again. My dad lived as a young adult in the eighites, an era showing rapid advanacement in technology and the rise of globalization. It was a simpler time, there was no internet nor cell phones, no computers either unless you were rich, and people were more connected personally. My dad participated in many outdoors activities when he came to Canada in the eighties. …show more content…
They rode through rivers, streets, parks and forests. They rode through downtown, all the way to the Toronto Zoo, Pearson Airport, along the lakeshore, they even brought their bikes on the ferry to Toronto Island and rode their as well, he said biking made him feel free. Compared to today, it is much harder to find opportunities to ride bikes, my dad said there was signifigantly less traffic in the past than now, it felt much more safe back then. It was also massively more cheap, cheaper than getting a car or taking a bus ride, and you can just ride all day Soccer was a sport he played quite a lot as well. After school, my dad and his friends would gather near Christie Pit and Bloor and Christie and play soccer. From my experience, most of my peers today rarely participate in any sports, most of us, me included, play video games, our phones and computers. Its not that …show more content…
He lived in an era where casette tapes and vhs tapes were the norm, there was no internet, and cell phones did not exist at the time. He did not have an Xbox or a Playstation console that could display 3D graphics, but he did have an Atari 2600 that displayed pixels, he played Space Invaders and Beserk many times. Information was a lot harder to find back in the day, you just could not go on the internet and google what you wanted to find. He had to go to the library and ask for something, the librarian would direct him. Hopefully he would find out something in the encyclopedia, but most times not. If you wanted to find an article or document, there was this thing called Microfiche, a flat sheet that store articles and documents a twenty-fifth of their size and needed a special Microfiche reader to be able to see it properly. It took a long time to send or receive messages from someone you could not directly see in the past, people did not have cell phones, and had to write letters if they did not have a phone, with all the time before speaking, you thought a lot about what you wanted to say. In this days, we are instantly connected to anyone, at anytime. This makes us want to be instantly gratified, and we talk, or text on a whim, with impulses, not truely thinking about how we want to convey our message and feelings. We as a society in whole have become more connected, yet more disconnected
While waiting for our food to arrive I started the interview off with some introductory background questions. His demeanor during the interview was very comfortable. I felt he was being very open and honest with his answers. Our conversations flowed very smoothly. I felt as if I was speaking to someone from a different culture from mines, but the way he expressed his perceptions and experiences were not foreign to me. Plainly, I could see how people all over the world could share the same dilemmas.
I sat down to interview my father, soon to find out how intrigued I was about my dad’s stories. It was late at night, about 7:00 PM. I had asked my dad if I could interview him, and he excitedly accepted.

I put a lot of time thinking about who I wanted to interview for this assignment. Not only did I want to network with other individuals on campus, I also wanted to learn about their everyday experiences. I interviewed Schelzia Ross, who is the Associate Director of TRIO at UW-Waukesha. I chose to interview Schelzia because she works with a specific population of students that I am interested in, first generation.
I interviewed Ashley Porras, a Licensed Vocational Nurse at Sharp Rees Stealy. She gave me background information of how she got into the healthcare system, great advice and what she does on a daily basis. The reason I chose Ashley as the person to interview was because I got the chance to spend the day with her at work and I loved it. I found it interesting what she did and got the opportunity to learn more about her, her occupation and where she see’s herself in the future. Someday, I would be an LVN and gradually get higher in the healthcare field like she is doing now.
Picking someone for this paper was much more difficult than the first one, at immediate thought the only people I knew over the age of 65 were my family members. I started to look into some of my friends’ parents but they were not quite there. Then it hit me, the perfect person to interview would be my friend that passed away in Dickinson, her grandmother. She is one of the most loving, caring, supportive grandparents I have ever met. I have always seen her from that stand point so interviewing her would only help me to understand how she became the way she is today.
The person I interviewed was Mrs. L. I know her because she is my mother’s mother. The interview took place at my house and the interview lasted about 2 hours and 20 minutes. I chose to interview Mrs. L because she seems to have done everything right and in the right order to lead to a successful life. I thought it would be interesting to go into depth and find out how she really did it and find out the hardships that came with making a successful family and life. (word count: 90)
“Niqab” is not ancient “traditional dress in most Muslim countries, but is a fairly recent innovation. Niqab is not mandated in the Quran; it arose later as a Muslim custom. Niqab have been banned in several Muslim countries or places in the Muslim world. There is nothing in Qu’rem supporting niqab, it is a Wahhabi affectation that speaks more of their attempt to dominate all Muslims than it does adherence to the will of god (Allah).
I was always outside riding my bicycle and playing hockey with friends and neighbors. I was a little kid who likes to be outside, make messes and annoy everyone. When my parents told me that we were moving I was very mad because I would not be able to play with my friends anymore and I didn’t want to meet new people in a city that I don’t know. The activity which I missed the most while living in Canada was playing hockey at outdoor ice rinks during the winter. Typically, I would spend ten to twelve hours a day on the weekends with my friends playing hockey. Because of the move, I have not seen or talked to my old friends in Canada for a long
In this advertisement even the daughter is stepping up to help her mom, but nowhere do one sees a man coming to lend a hand, or doing the task himself. However, the advertisement does portray a strong muscular cartoon Mr. Clean man. The camera angle on the individuals is above them, but directly eye-level to the Mr. Clean logo and the logo is also closer to the camera than the female. This advertisement leaves a message toward many women are more independent and many have their own career. Although society seems to give a false image of the freedom women have, implicitly, the advertisement represents society's actual pre-determined role for women in society. The stereotypes surrounded around women still remain Moving forward, the final advertisement
camping and fishing trips into the wild. Always away from society and where no one would find them.
1. Question: Share some of the background of your interviewee (or couple). What was this person’s/couple’s story?
I chose to interview Randy Bedsaul. He is an older gentleman who responds in a genuine manner. Since he works in my maintenance shop and I interact with him on a daily basis it was easy to ask him to do this interview. He responded quickly to my request and even stayed after work one day to help me out. To say I was thrilled would be an understatement. I really appreciate individuals who are willing to go the extra mile to help others in regards to personal/professional growth.
Supply chain management by nature depends on the relationships and networks. There are some relationships that play a significant role in attaining supply chain success. The word “relationship” covers a broad area in supply chain management. Strategic relationship, transactional relationship and internal relationships are just a few of the relationships types in supply chain management. Within the supply chain, there are working relationships between supplier and customers. These relationships are called partnerships. The use of strategic alliances and joint ventures are becoming more popular with a rising number of multinational companies. An alliance is considered an agreement between two or more companies from different countries in supply chain activity ranging from research and development to sales.

He was born in Karachi, Pakistan where he lived in an extended family with his parents, brothers sisters, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and their kids. He had moved to Canada on October 26th 1990, by himself, to fulfill his undergraduate degree at the University of Manitoba in Computer Science and Math. He is now working at CGI as a Professional IT Manager. He describes himself as “introverted, responsible, independent, hard working, driven, logical and analytical.” This is evident throughout his interview, as he had a very analytical approach on observing advertisements.
