Why is it that there are certain individuals who possess the ambition and courage to achieve almost impossible missions while other people struggle to set a goal? For example Farah Ahmedi wanted to escape a war torn country, afghanistan, to Pakistan. On her way she finds a very nice man who helps her cross the border on a secret path. Annie Johnson wants to start making money for her family by making her own path in life. She sells food to factory workers and in the end she is very successful. These are the things that make people strive for their goals. Farah Ahmedi is a girl who was walking home from school and a mine went off when she was taking a shortcut. One of her legs is gone and now she has a prosthetic one. After that, Farah and
To undertake a mission means to set a goal for yourself means to set a goal for yourself to accomplish. People are determined and work hard to reach their goals. For example, Farah Ahmedi climbed a mountain on a prosthetic leg to reach freedom. Aengus traveled long and hard to find love. Rikki-Tikki-Tavi was determined on killing the snakes and saving his new family. These characters had different reasons for pursuing their goals and doing what they did. Ahmedi wanted freedom, Rikki-Tikki wanted to protect his new family, and Aengus was set on finding love; however all three shared the determination to accomplish their goal.
Master Fard Muhammad had met a man with only a 3rd grade education and brought him up to be the messenger of Allah. Master Fard Muhammad was from The Holy city of Mecca back east and his father Alphonso knew over there in the west it was wicked. Alphonso, which is Master Fard Muhammad's father, had went to the caucus mountains and mated with an white woman and married her. They had a son together which at the time was Wallace D Fard who soon became Master Fard Muhammad. Alphonso knew Master Fard Muhammad would complete this mission because if he went to North America looking like a black man the authorities would pay too much attention to him. He had to be mixed so he could be disguised, so he could find a man to resurrect his people. He studied
Nobody fully understands what drives people to undertake a mission, but it often causes people to take many risks. For example, Farah Ahmedi climbed a mountain on a prosthetic leg with a sick mother just to reach freedom. Rikki-Tikki fought for his life to save his family. John Steinbeck eavesdropped on people's conversations just to get material for his book. These stories show different people who had each set a goal for themselves. Ahmedi and Rikki-Tikki fought for their lives to survive and save their loved ones. While Steinbeck traveled to great lengths to write his book. Their goals may be different but they all had set a goal and they all eventually accomplished their goal.
Farah Ahmedi’s goal was to cross the Afghanistan border to get to a better life in Pakistan. In the first read, The Other Side of the Sky, it says, “‘Night was falling, we were stranded out there in the open’”(Ahmedi 4). This states it was nighttime and her and her mother had no place to stay. Along the way, her and her mother faced many hardships, “The worst thing would have been if we had gotten separated. We were only risking injury”(Ahmedi 3). In addition, “Terribly warm and we had no water, but we walked. My mother began to wheeze. Her asthma was bad. Her anxiety made it worse. We could have gotten over in little more than an hour if not for my mother. Our journey took many hours”(Ahmedi 11). Overall, they succeeded their mission and made it over the border. For example, “This excerpt from “Escape from Afghanistan” describes their efforts to make it across the border and into Pakistan”(Introduction). This states Ahmedi and her mother made it over the border. In conclusion, Farah Ahmedi
In order to ever accomplish something if it is going up the stairs, or getting to college they all have one thing in common. What is it? Motivation. Without it you couldn't do anything you wouldn't have the will to accomplish anything no matter how small. everyone has some kind of motivation in them if it is their parents, wanting more in life or just pure determination.
Have you ever had a goal and you would do anything to achieve it? Changing how we are and the things we do for people in life, is not as impossible as it seems. I have seen people do amazing things that have changed their lives forever. It is special to have that feeling that you just met your goal and it was the biggest goal you had out of all of the other goals. That is how goals shape us in life.
Growing up in a war torn country, Farah Ahmedi was used to seeing houses being bombed and her city being invaded. As she grew older, she had a freak accident in which she had lost her leg. Along with this, she had to escape her home in order to save her mom and have a better life. Unfortunately, as Ahmedi and her mother approach the gate to Pakistan, they realize that the door has already been closed. Just as it seems all their luck has run out, Ahmedi and her mother meet a kind man named Ghulam Ali who knows how to get them over the border. He tells them of a goat path that smugglers bribed the guards to keep unguarded and decides to take them along with his family on the steep mountains that make up the trail. According to Ahmedi, she “hardly felt the exertion” even with her prosthetic leg and that her “desperation” gave her “energy” which
What drives us to undertake a mission? A difficult journey can have fear, danger, and taking risks. What makes a character overcome a mission? The three attributes that can drive us to undertake a mission are loyalty, determination, or instinct.
When someone has a goal in life what will someone do to achieve it. I think a good fundamental building block is having a strong moral character. That you will do anything in your being of power to achieve that goal. Even if it means pushing through things that most people don’t want to do. For that is something I struggle with everyday for school. My goal for this year is to get all straight A’s though that is not easy task. Cause everyday after school my afternoons consist of homework, studying, and practicing my flute for band. There is one man who understood this way of thinking very well and was an inspiration to many while he was alive and even still to this day even after him passing away is still an inspiration. This him is called John Wooden, John Wooden was a self motivating man who knew what he wanted and had the plan to achieve it by any means possible he never let his circumstances in his childhood
Flashed light, seemingly endless pain, and astonishment. Such words do not even begin to scratch the surface of those that are fitting for the moment Farah Ahmedi stepped on a landmine and turned her life upside down. Ahmedi was a highly intelligent afghan muslim who was forced to mature at a young age. The landmine incident was just one horrific event that would happen throughout her journey. However, it was extremely significant, leading her to test her faith in God and to question her ability to ever feel as a regular girl again. In like manner, Ahmedi creates the essence of the composition by following her dreams to America, disregarding the beliefs she grew up hearing about the land of the free.
Some people say that with dedication, persistence, and time people can accomplish any goal. Others say that people are limited in what they can accomplish and need to be realistic when setting goals.
What drives someone to undertake a dangerous mission? This is a question that many often ponder, but the answer is often hard to find. People often have different motivations to undertake missions, whether it be a family obligation, determination, or sheer willpower. Regardless of the circumstances, certain people undertake similar missions. While Aengus for example was driven by his love for the glimmering girl, and how badly he wanted to find her, Rikki-Tikki-Tavi wanted to protect his family, and Ernesto just wanted to fit in. Although each of them had a separate goal, their determination was what helped them through the tasks.
The characters close companions that give them motivation to change their mind an make them over come their fears. Then they will do the challenge for the great or good. With enough persuading by people the character tends to lose caring and feel more comfortable. Then when the character builds enough confidence then they wont care so much. This is what drives people the do a mission or goal.
Farah Ahmedi is a hardworking woman who lived in Afghanistan with her mom. Based on the book, The Other Side of the Sky, by Farah Ahmedi, Ahmadi mission was to get across the border of Afghanistan to Pakistan with her mom. According to the text, “Yet we had no real chance of getting through,” (Ahmedi para.2). This proves that she wants to get across the border but she did not know how, which leads me
Michelangelo once said “The greater danger for most of us is not setting our aim to high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low; and achieving our mark”. Agreeing with this quote there are too many people that set their goals to low. First off people do not believe in themselves they do not believe they can achieve and succeed on a high level. Secondly people are afraid of failure people do not want to fail at something they think their good at. Finally some people believe everything should be handed to them. And they should not have to work for things they want. Yes agreeing with Michelangelo’s quote many people under achieve when they can over achieve they are just afraid of failure.
