I believe that the Fashion Institute of Technology is a school that can change my life and career. I truly believe that I am the perfect candidate for FIT because I am committed and passionate about my academics and future goals. Putting aside a completely different major from fashion and learning something new can be challenging, however, I am very desperate and motivated to take on that task. I have confidence in myself, that I am in a perfect position where I will be able to adapt to any learning environment. Furthermore, I want to study graphic design in depth and be able to communicate through my artwork. I believe that FIT is the perfect school that can provide me the perfect path to the life where I can make a living doing what I truly love and enjoy doing. I genuinely love and appreciate art and the fact that you can express anything through it. When people feel emotional through my art, I feel alive and energetic. Ever since I was young, I always attempted to create something and because of that, I developed a great habit of expressing anything through art. The ability to create an artwork using colors, lights, lines, forms, and shapes, is a unique feeling. I was always an artistic kid where I was always interested in language, expressing …show more content…
My parents would always force me to study, so therefore, I would always study hard and try to finish my daily chores as soon as possible so I can find time to squeeze in art. My parents always expected me to receive high grades, so as they wished, I gradually stopped doing art and focused more on studying throughout my school years. However, my passion for art never decreased, but had to be hidden deep inside my heart. I always had to convince myself that art was something I could do as a hobby and there was something more important that I needed to focus on for a brighter future, however, I was

Art is something we use every day of our lives. It is included in almost everything. Artists express their emotions and feelings in their art work because that is an artist’s job. In order for an artist to create great art, they need knowledge and empathy to make their art work meaningful.
Art plays a huge role in my carefree personality. Poetry pushes me to use the power of my voice and to care less of what people think of me or my story, giving me the freedom to tell my story how I want to tell it. Not only poetry, but being a visual artist also gave me the urge to express myself unapologetically because it's a freedom in what I draw and how
Even through childhood, I had never been very interested in school. I have always been more concerned and focused elsewhere. I have always had a passion for art, especially music. These are subjects I know about thoroughly well. I think passion plays an important role in the quality of your work. I never felt strongly about math or english, but exceeded in art, science, and social sciences, like psychology and sociology. I believe these concepts work together. Even though science, psychology, and sociology are considered academic subjects, I can relate them all together. These kinds of subjects allow you to expand your mind past just facts and words in a book. I use my own experiences to relate and to observe. I find interest in subjects where I can learn from others and learn from myself. Books can hold a lot of information, but the human brain can consume information that can be translated into actions. A human brain can create and think beyond a world that is strictly black and white. A human being possesses feelings and experiences. Street-smarts are produced by experience. During elementary school, I had a lot of exposure to hostility from teachers because of my lack of interest in the academics. This always made me feel discouraged. All throughout this time, I felt as if my lack of academic interest meant my natural creativity had no impact or a negative impact on my success. I
F.I.T. has very distinguishing qualities that aren’t comparable to any other school, which made my decision to apply to F.I.T. so simple. It is a well-known fact that F.I.T. is the top school to attend for fashion, which is why I would be honored if accepted. To know that there is a school in the middle of one of the biggest fashion capitals in the world that offers the education and opportunity to learn and grow in the area of fashion of your choosing almost seems too good to be true. I am confident that attending the Fashion Institute of Technology will give me the first hand experience I need to lead me to my career goal in Fashion Business Management, and will allow me the best education that I can get while opening many doors for me in my
There are few certainties of what one will encounter during life. A common joke names two: death and
Some of my extracurricular interest include art. I enjoy art because it allows one to capture a memorable moment that one could treasure for eternity. But it also allows one to see another one’s point of view. Art allows one to express one’s true inner thoughts and one’s true self without feeling ashamed of oneself. Art allows me to stretch my creative muscle and it also allows for me to get to know my true self.
Music inspires me. It transports me away from the world and helps me to go deeper where I can access memory and emotion as I paint. I am inspired by light, atmosphere, and sudden changes in the weather. Abstract Expressionism/Action painting from the 1950's is a sustaining influence as well. I am in love with the world most of the time and everything and everyone that comes into my life are put into my work in some small
I tend to be kind of an art geek. What can I say? I’m drawn to interesting images, and art has some of the most intriguing images to offer. Art galleries, museums, art blogs; all of it! What I love most about art is the meaning behind the shapes and colors chosen. Granted, not all art has a deeper meaning beyond whatever the artist splattered onto a blank canvas. In that case, it’s all in the eye of the beholder.
Art can be a thing of beauty that causes energy and excitement. Art is what caused
Ever since I was born, I am surrounded by art. Pursuing art is like my family tradition, I am the fourth generation in my family who decided to use visual arts to share our perspectives to the rest of the world. I am not the kind of people who are good at starting verbally communication. For me, art is the way that I communicate with others. Communicating through art, I was able to let people see the way that I see the world.
By this point i had started disliking art. So i decided my senior year i wasnt going to take art, and im still not going to, i dont need to. At the end of the year i decided i was going to learn to draw people using the anime/manga style. I had always thought that if i could just learn to draw people, then i would be overflowing with creativitiy and stuff. My only problem was that i wasnt commited, and for one reason, i didnt see myself with any future in art. I couldnt see myself just drawing for the fun of it anymore, i had no motivation. So, i ended up slowly stopping. About a month before summer vacation ended i came across an animated music video. As i watched i became mesmerised by what this person had created. Their style and the flow of everything. My mind began to wander and i found myself with an urge to create. It took three days (i must have watched the video a dosen times each day) before i couldnt take it anymore, i had to draw. I started studying every line this person had drawn that way i could learn something that made me so inspired. Of course i wanted to create a character of my own. As i drew i began to remember my struggles with drawing
Franklin University is my first and only choice for graduate school. Franklin has provided me access to professional and educated faculty members, an accessible online campus learning environment, and a culture that meets my requirements. It’s my belief graduate school requires hard work, discipline, desire, and time. These are the values that I possess as an individual, student, employee, and steward to my community. My undergraduate grades reflect not only my outstanding performance at Franklin University, but my capability to succeed.
Art is personal; an expression of inner thoughts and desires, affecting the way I not only see the world but myself. In order for a person to grow they must know who they are, their aspirations, the true nature of their thoughts, and their actuality of their persona; the physicality of art has given me this knowledge. With practicing in the arts I am able to grow as a person and I am able to see that growth within me. For with the expression of creativity, comes an outlet, an outlet of the unconscious, forming and showing the reality of the mind. This outlet releases internal emotions and helps me to find tranquility within myself. This state of mind is a supplement for my own personal problems. Also, I am able to create new ideas, ones that help me see the world in a new light. I am able to form a relaxing and mesmerizing state of mind, one that leaves me fascinated with the world around me, along with a deep love for simplicity. Visual arts have truly given me an insight on my own mind and happiness in my life. This is why I full-heartedly believe and practice in the arts, to find peace of mind, not in the world, but in myself.
Discovering and choosing a college that best suits my needs was a rigorous yet thrilling task. The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising clearly came forth as the best choice for me to further my education in design. Being unable to visit the college campus, as I live in New York, I've done lots and lots of research about FIDM, and I realize the institute offers what I hope to gain from my college experience.
