For the past four years, I have been an active member of my community. I have helped not only my filipino community but my hometown community. This has allowed for my interest to expand and for me to give back my community. I am an active member in the SouthEast Georgia Filipino community . I have aided in many of our projects. In our annual project , Filipino Sinulog, I help prepare the venue by aiding in decorating and cleaning. In this event I also help with the entertainment by dancing in the celebrations. I also help pass out the candles that we use in this celebration. I am also an active member of my church of Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church. I have aided the church with multiple functions. One of the functions that I have aided …show more content…

Last year I competed in the competition in two categories, small instrumental ensemble and people and animal photography. I enjoy art because it allows one to capture a memorable moment that one could treasure for eternity. But it also allows one to see another one’s point of view. Art allows one to express one’s true inner thoughts and one’s true self without feeling ashamed of oneself. Art allows me to stretch my creative muscle and it also allows for me to get to know my true self. Another interest that I have is reading, reading allows one to expands their vocabulary. Because reading stimulates the mind it also helps in the developing the mind. Reading also allows one to learn more about one true self. I also enjoy reading because it allows one to use their
My interests and passions supplement my education in high school in a variety of ways. Show choir, musicals, plays, chorus, band, jazz band, and so much more allowed me to use my creativity everyday in multiple ways. All of these arts opportunities added to the excitement of coming to school, which naturally helped me succeed in my academic pursuits. Not only do I enjoy high school, but many weekend days have been spent waiting to go back to school so that I can sing again, or play my trumpet again, or just learn something really interesting.
Growing up in a Catholic household, I have always been an active member in the church as an alter server, interpreter, and assisting with
Various things can lure you into art. From creative writing or painting those are ways you bring yourself closer to creativity. For me, it was the concept of visual arts and how much it intrigued me into further learning about art. About how I can show my own creativity on paper or incorporate myself into my surroundings to my own creativity. I have grown to enjoy this artistry from when I first saw a drawing book to now where I engage myself to different forms of art. As soon as I had a connection with this community, my life has revolved around art. Having this support within this community and able to come when I need it has made a great impact within my life. Being apart of this community has made me where I am able to be involving to various programs that connect to art, volunteering in different events where I can express my own ideas, and even producing my own work.
Along with science, my other biggest fascination is the arts. I draw, paint, write, and play guitar. I used to dance and do theater as well. When I put my mind to something, I can muster up extraordinary amounts of dedication: often,
One of our missions is to give back to the community. We accomplish it by donating our time, skills and sources. Constant participation in fund-raising events, 4th of July parades, Mardi Gras festivities and event stand-bys is our pride.
Fine art classes are fun and let students express themselves in different ways. A middle school student said, “I love fine arts. They give you a chance to be outwardly expressive and they are more fun and less stressful. They help me express myself through music.” Another student said, “The fine arts classes help me think creatively and are one of my favorite parts about
I have been very involved with serving my community throughout my life, and more so in the past few years because of my experience in the International Baccalaureate program and its service requirements.
I have many interests. Three of them are chess, digital art and, poetry. These activities allow me to convey my creativity. In chess, there are countless possibilities of how one can checkmate his or her opponent. As for digital art, the possibilities are endless because of the limitlessness of art. Similarly, with poetry I enjoy using literary devices such as, personification, similes and metaphors to express the message I am conveying.
I use to enjoy reading and writing. The joy of going to the bookstore and picking out a great book excited me. I would curl up in my bed and image the world around me as if I was in the book myself. Everything changed during my four high school years.
Ever since I was born, I am surrounded by art. Pursuing art is like my family tradition, I am the fourth generation in my family who decided to use visual arts to share our perspectives to the rest of the world. I am not the kind of people who are good at starting verbally communication. For me, art is the way that I communicate with others. Communicating through art, I was able to let people see the way that I see the world.
I live my life to tell stories. All stories are beautiful and everyone deserves to see a face they recognize telling them a story that explores the struggles they deal with daily. To know we are not alone, and that art has a meaning full place in our lives as our teachers, is such a comfort. Art teaches us to feel, it teaches us about ourselves, and how to empathize with others. It taught me how to communicate something that could save a life in a tender, beautiful way. And it would be my privilege to be able to do that with the rest of my
When used well, the arts are the cement that brings all the disparate curricular areas together. In the best schools, this is often the case. The arts are valued for their interdisciplinary potential. The result is a more cohesive curriculum in which students explore relationships across disciplines. . . . the arts in conjunction with other aspects of the curriculum afford students more complete and compelling conceptions. Art. To me is something undefinable, what I want my art to show you is a piece of myself and a piece of yourself. Something we can all relate to; a memory, a song, a poem, art should make you feel something. Art is a gift, a tool we can use to hide beauty in ordinary places and things. I want to broaden my understanding of design and the world that art is beyond my knowledge and experiences. Because my love for creating burns so bright and deep within me, I am determined to find a career path that will allow me to explore the world of design and art every day. A number of art forms are endless and this seems like a daunting task to find just one path that can express the enjoyment and involvement I want to have with art. Throughout my life I have been endlessly drawing, painting, sculpting and creating--often times I feel almost cursed with such talent to create because the ability seems endless. I have taken a number of art classes exploring my passions as a High School Student and created many different types of works including oil, acrylic, and watercolor paintings; etching, embossed, and screen printmaking; charcoal, graphite, and pastel drawings; Sculpting with ceramics and plaster as well as wheel pieces. I find that there is few mediums I have yet to experiment with. I have become accustomed to Acrylic paintings as I have recently started to create paintings and sell them to community members. I participated in a local art fair and it opened my eyes to what art
In life there are ways we come to a deeper meaning of what creates happiness and good health. To achieve the deeper meaning we exhaust the ideas of playing sports, creating art, or making things to better the lives of people around us. We all understand art is a part of our daily life, and how we choose to use or create the art affects our personal self. Throughout the semester there are aspects of the teaching which have changed the way I notice and create my art in my life. I focus heavily on the sports I play to show my transformation. However, I do see how when I create pieces of artwork, I feel more creative in the process. I also find myself more willing to perform or present presentations to show how something has affected me. The art I make a part of my daily life to improves my life and the other people around me is through sports, noticing and using my creativity.
As I got older I studied art because I found that art was a good way to express myself when, as I was unable to socially express myself in other ways. It doesn’t happen overnight of course, I was determined to get better. I always had fun drawing and painting even when they didn’t look very good, I enjoyed it so much that I forgot about skill. I was self taught for a while but I knew if I really wanted to learn more about art I would have to
