In order to communicate effectively with people of all ages it is necessary to both, listen to them and be able read their body language. This is important because it ensures that you respond appropriately to their needs. For example, individuals for whom English is a second language, those with special needs and very young children might find it difficult to communicate verbally and it is in these instances that being able to read body language becomes pivotal.
