In Warcross there are a lot of characters and ways they fill their archetypes. But there is also ways they don't fill their archetypes. In this chapter I will tell you ways characters fill their archetypes and ways they don't.

Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, the poem of a Sir Gawain and his quest to find the Green Knight and the green chapel in one year and a day later. This occurs after the Green Knight appears in King Arthur's court to test the honor of the legendary knights of the roundtable. The challenge he brought would be that he will withstand the blow of his axe from any of the knights as long as that knight would agree to meet him in a year and a day later to receive a blow from the axe in return. No one would accept it, not even King Arthur. Therefore Sir Gawain decides he would accept the challenge after the Green Knight provokes Arthur because he was not accepting the challenge. Sir Gawain would go on a year later on a journey to find the Green Knight and the Green Chapel with many peculiar things happening on the way. He eventually finds him and receives the same blow from the Green Knight with the axe but nothing happens to him. There are some archetypes in the story, and we will see some examples of them.

With every corner we turn in today’s culture, we become more and more aware of the archetypes that surround us. Archetypes are the works of a typical character, situation, setting, or symbol that can be found in fantasy and reality. An example would be the renowned medieval story Sir Gawain and the Green Knight by Pearl Poet. The author permeates the story with situational, symbolic, and character archetypes that illustrate the profound life of Sir Gawain. Sir Gawain was apprehensive of his journey at first, but as time passes, he began to make choices that unveils to the audience the true flawed knight that he was.

In the movie Finding Nemo, there are many archetypal elements present. Not only are archetypal situations present, but of course characters. Nemo and Marlin both meet archetypal characters and come across situational archetypes. The Hero, the Sidekick, the “Wise Old Man”, and even an archetypal ending all make an appearance in Nemo’s adventure throughout the big, blue world.

Luke starts from humble beginnings and when he is called upon to save the galaxy; he then faces various tests which help him hone skills that he will need for the final life or death battle.

The Princess Bride is so much more than just a novel. There is death, heartbreak, adventure, character development and more. There are plenty of archetypes in this story, and they are usually pretty easy to catch. The three main archetypes in The Princess Bride are the dumb blonde, love, and the determined.

The movie Star Wars Episode 3 The Revenge Of  The Sith directed by George Lucas is a great representation of the God teacher versus God Tempter. In this film the character that perfectly shows a God teacher, is Obi – wan Kenobi. Obi – wan Kenobi is the Jedi master of Anakin Skywalker the perceived chosen one. Skywalking is the one that is suppose to bring balance to the force and save the galaxy. The God tempter is Darth Sidious whom is to be the dark lord from the darkside of the force. With all the hardships that Skywalker endures, it leaves his mind cluttered with a decision to make; stay on the good side living in Obi – wan Kenobi's shadow or acquire more knowledge about the hidden powers a Jedi can poses: saving people from death. The short story “Everyday Use” focuses around a middle aged African-American woman who lives in an impoverished home in a time frame around the mid-20th century. This woman is described as having a rough life, having very manly attributes and somewhat a very simple woman. She has two children, one that lives with her still and another that has left home and pursued a vastly different lifestyle than that of her and her other daughter. The older daughter named Dee seems to have abandoned her emotionally in pursuit of an alternative way of embracing her heritage which appears to be towards traditional African values and culture.

The archetypes in Lord of the Rings and Star wars that I have chose for this essay are the Loyal retainer, The task, and light v.s. Dark. I will do a comparison of each movie with the three archetypes. In Lord of the Rings the loyal retainer is Samwise Gamgee, and in Star Wars the loyal retainers are Han Solo, C-3PO and R2-D2. The next archetype is the task. The task in Lord of the Rings is for Frodo to keep the ring safe and to keep others away who are tempted by it, to use it against Sauron.

In the novel/play Arthur Miller all my sons the character Chris looks up to his dad and looks at him for leadership and he respects his dad and loves him.The way Joe keller's family views him is he is a trustworthy man and would sacrifice himself for his family. He has always worked hard in life so his family could have a good life and he always puts his family first. In Arthur Miller's play All My Sons Characters are developed through the use of archetypes such as Joe Keller as the martyr.

In the novel The Kite Runner, Khaled Hosseini uses the literary element archetypes. Archetypes are typically characters, actions, or situations that seem to represent universal patterns of human nature. Hosseini uses the archetype of the villain, which can be seen in the character Assef. By using archetypes, it shows the universal role of a character, in The Kite Runner, it shows the universal role that the villain has, but one step further. Throughout the novel, Assef’s main goal is to cause to harm to others including Hassan and Amir. He goes beyond the idea of a typical villain we know, not only does he want to cause harm but, physically and mentally destroy a person. We can see that over time Assef progressively gets worse as a villain, from taking pleasure in bullying, to raping innocent children, he slowly turns into a psychological monster that takes pleasure from the pain that is inflicted on others.

I am indifferent on this topic only because I see the pros and cons of genetic modification. Although I sway more along the lines of I do not agree with it for reasons of safety and ethic issues. I think if CRISPR can do as it says and elimiate devastating genetic diseases that would be amazing. For example, I just found out I have Lupus which is something that was passed down on my father's side of the family. Although, this diease is not cureable it can be treated with medication but if something like the CRISPR was able to remove that genetic dieases from continuing on with my family that would be great. I do worry about the unknowns because they could be very deadly but how do we find out without trying it right? I am fully against the
