Leadership Theories
Leadership is considered to be a social process influence where an individual is able to enlist support and aid from other people all in trying to accomplish a shared or common task. There are different and numerous leadership theories. Some leadership theories are dependent on others (Kenny, 2003).

Transformational Leadership

It defines leadership being learned but not born with. It includes focusing on the leadership work, focusing on people, direct leaders and participative leaders (Chemers, 2007).
Servant leadership theories
Leaders are more of servant to their people. Their main leadership role is to cater for people needs and interest. The leader serves his team physically and his leadership position may not be realized. A common example of a servant leadership was exemplified by Jesus.
Practical examples of conduct and leadership
Martin Luther king Jr was and is a celebrated leader. Martin was able to portray many leadership style and theories (Chemers, 2007). Some which include situational, trait, and behavioral leadership theories. By combining all this leadership style he was able to make a good leader. Another exemplary leader is Barack Obama. A lot of leadership styles are exemplified by his leadership nature. A combination of transformational, skills and situational leadership style are found within Barack Obama. Another world great leader is Nelson Mandela. Mandela was a leader who exemplified traits leadership, skills leadership path-goal leadership, and servant leadership. There are many ways to define leadership, but perhaps the most laconic as well as accurate definition is presented in Peter G. Northouse's Leadership: Theory and Practice book (Northouse, 2013, p.5): "Leadership is a process whereby an individual influences a group of individuals to achieve a common goal". Individuals, engaged in leadership, use influence to solve challenges, which the groups under their leadership face, in order to succeed in their common goals.
Servant leadership is leadership that starts with a vision. Servant leaders are optimists with empathy for individuals (Gill, 2015). Servent leadership involves putting the needs of others at the forefront of every business, organization, department or group. For example, servant leadership addresses the accountabilities and relations between employees and customers, and its investors and shareholders. In theory, servant leadership is a set of practices that improves the lives of many individuals, develops better businesses, and overall fashions a more caring and just world (Leadership?, 2015 ).

Leadership is helping a group or groups of people come to a shared goal; this goal may be an activity or done simply by influencing people to cope with changes (Al-Sawai, 2013). It is also found that “leadership focuses on relationships, using interpersonal skills to persuade others to work toward a common goal” (Yoost & Crawford, 2016, p. 166). The theories listed above describe excellent traits in a leader, I will elaborate on a few leadership theories.
Leadership is complex and, comprises of many definitions and qualities (Grimm 2010). One definition of leadership is ‘a multifaceted process of identifying a goal, motivating other people to act, and providing support and motivation to achieve mutually negotiated goals’ (porter-O’Grady 2003). Back in 1939 Kurt Lewin researched to identify different styles of leadership. According to his research, there are three major styles of leadership. Authoritarian or autocratic, participative or democratic and delegative or laizzes-fair. These three styles remain influential today. According to educational leaders.govt.NZ, leadership is about empowering, transforming and working together to meet schools and 21st century (www.tki).There are many leadership theories and from leadership theories comes leadership styles. the educational leadership model according to www.educational leaders.govt.nz identifies four qualities that build a leader 's capability to enhance teaching and learning outcomes for the school: manaakitangi- leading with moral purpose, pono- having self-belief, ako- being a learner, awhinatanga -guiding and supporting.
Leadership is more than a position within an organization, true leaders are influencers who inspire and empower as they guide organizations and people through times of uncertainty. As a leader, I seek to create a culture of inclusion and empowerment that encourages creativity and unbound thinking. As a servant leader, I have a desire to serve, to serve others and develop them through a conscious effort to create synergy.
The leadership models/theories that will be demonstrated are skills-based leadership, situational leadership, and leader-member exchange theory.

It is an ability of leader how he influence a group towards the achievement of a vision or set of goals. Leadership is also about coping with change. Leaders set a direction for future by making a vision of the future. Then guide people by easy mode of communication with this vision & inspire them to rule out the problems.
Servant leadership is the kind of leadership where the leader himself is willing to work as a servant. The leader wants to serve first in the group. Servant leader’s emphasis on individual development and the transformational leader’s focus on structural growth. According to Larry Spears, Servant leaders are very good listeners, it’s their number one characteristic. (Spears, n.d.) Servant leaders go extra mile for their commitment to listening to others.
Servant leadership theory is defined as “A leader who leads by serving others, and place their employees’ interests and needs ahead of their own self-interests and needs, because they value building their communities, the development of their employees, acting authentically, and sharing power” (Grimsley, n.d., para. 1).

Throughout the centuries leaders have adapted in response to these changes. Leadership is a process which commences by following. Skill set born with or learned. As a follower one can learn and improve in their performance to be an effective leader. According to the text, leadership influence can be located in one person or be distributed throughout the group (pg. 282).
Leadership is the process of influencing individuals or a group of individuals by providing purpose, direction with the support of others, and motivating those individuals with the purpose of accomplishing a certain obligation which is helpful to all individual that is involved.
