Gatlinburg, Tennessee is encompassed by multiple mountain ranges, with the Le Conte and Sugarland Mountain emerging to the South, “Cove Mountain to the West, Big Ridge to the Northeast, and Grapeyard Ridge to the East.” The Sugarlands, which lie to the south of Gatlinburg, is underlain by Roaring Fork sandstone. This rock, like other formations throughout the Appalachian expanse, is composed of ancient ocean sediments thats are approximately one billion years old.

After the Dakota nation ceded land in 1851 and moved to Chief Shakopee’s village in Prior Lake, the area was settled by numerous Irish, Scottish, and Norwegian farmers from Saint Paul.

As one of the distant suburbs of Washington, DC, Gaithersburg, Maryland is a lovely city to find an apartment in. Memphis, Tennessee is a city that I hold dear. Sure, it is riddled with crime, the roads are terrible, and the cost of living is high. However, the rich history and vibrant atmosphere is what draws so many to this marvel of the mid-south. There is nothing quite like walking down Beale Street after enjoying some of the best barbeque available, dipping in and out of bars to feast on the almost constant live music of all genres. The unique smell of smoked meats mixed with stale beer brings me home whenever I catch a whiff.

Roseburg, Oregon, is a small, rural, timber-town, located in Douglas County, within the Umpqua River Valley. It became a notable town when the timber industry took off, bolstering the city. With a current population around 22.5 thousand people (The City of Roseburg, 2017), Roseburg is far from a sizeable town, but has a community with sizeable traits, strengths, and concerns that are of a significant value.

Dollywood is a place I would like to visit because it has many rides, tasty food, and entertainment. I always think of riding the fun rides at Dollywood. Dollywood has over 40 amazing rides.

Heights and turned the artillery there against them, so by Monday Morning we had everything in readiness & when we opened on them they found opposition of no use with raw troops such as they had and they surrendered

I never knew the Smokies were so close to my grandparent’s retirement village. Every summer all the cousins jammed into Grandpa’s Ford for our jaunt up the mountains. But back then the hills had no name. They were recognized only by the pop of our ears and the pink silk trees bowing down to the highway. Since those days I have grown partial to any patch of grass with “National Park” tacked to its title. Today the mimosas still tossed their petals to traffic, and the truck remembered its ever-present perfume of damp golden retriever. But today we were going to The Great Smoky Mountains National Park. “Cade’s Cove, next left,” the road sign read, and two bikes bumped along on the car hitch.

Prince Edward Island is located off the coast of the Eastern shore of Canada’s mainland. As one of the 4 Atlantic Maritime provinces, PEI, like all the other provinces located nearby, has a moderated maritime climate that, when combined with the rich agricultural soils of the region, makes it an ideal location for growing crops and raising livestock. The area’s climate characteristics have and continue to play an exceedingly important role in Charlottetown’s success as PEI’s capital city.

Lynchburg is now a sovereign city located in the middle of the state of Virginia. It is roughly 50 square miles and is located near the Blue Ridge Mountains (About Lynchburg). According to Lynchburg’s governmental website, “It is located approximately 180 miles southwest of the nation’s capital, Washington, D.C.” (About Lynchburg). The city borders Forest, Virginia, Madison Heights, Virginia and Timberlake, Virginia (About). Lynchburg ranges in various physical settings such as flatlands and mountain ranges. The elevation of Lynchburg creates a cooler climate for its people. The city is coldest between the end of January and the beginning of February, with an average temperature of 35 degrees Fahrenheit (Demographics). The estimated annual precipitation is 38.27 inches and the estimated annual snowfall is 18.3 inches (Demographics). On the other hand, the city is warmest the last half of July with an average temperature of 76 degrees Fahrenheit (Demographics). Due to the moderate weather, it makes Lynchburg an enjoyable place to live.
