Environment is complex of natural and anthropogenic factors and components that are in a state of mutual dependence and affect the ecological balance and quality of life, health, cultural, and historical heritage. The environment is everything that surround us. We are in contact with the environment all the time. My favorite part of the environment is natural environment. The natural environment is the set of living and non-living things on Earth which occur in a state substantially not influenced by humans. We are in contact with the natural environment all the time – help it or polluted it. We also can benefit from it without hurting it. I’m talking about wild fruits. They are plants which are not grown by human and you can eat for free. …show more content…
I knew that there was a river somewhere in front of us. Our aim was to find the river. My dog needed to cool down. He is a 10 pound white Pekingese with a lot of fur. We reached a flat, open and sunny field. I was thinking “Oh, sun! It’s too hot anyway!” In this moment, I felt a known, pleasant aroma. It was the aroma of wild strawberries - my favorite aroma from my childhood. When I was a kid in Bulgaria, my parents and I used to go in the woods and pick wild strawberries every summer. Since then, this aroma is my favorite fruit aroma. I can recognize it everywhere in the world. This was one of my first connections with the nature.
I looked around – weeds everywhere. I knew that wild strawberries would be here. I bent over and started to search for them. They were everywhere between the weeds. Wild strawberries are red, and as small as a human nail. They are so small and so delicious. I usually like to wash my fruits very well, but not these ones. I started to eat them right away. The wild strawberries are sweet creation of nature. It had been more than 10 years since I ate wild strawberries. I heard a noise. People were coming. I sat on the ground and waited for them to pass us. They didn’t even notice the aroma of wild strawberries. They were too busy. I only greeted them, I didn’t want to share my “gold” with the busy strangers. They left. I kept looking for more strawberries. I ate about fifteen and saved a couple for my husband.
Ecosystems is the dynamic complex of plant, animal and micro-organism communities and their non-living environment that work together to form a functional unit and they are constantly changing due to the fluctuating equilibrium from natural stress and human action which has had adversarial impacts on ecosystems. This is evident in Minnamurra rainforest as human induced modifications and environmental stresses had resulted in a vulnerable ecosystem. Furthermore, the removal of factors that contribute to the vulnerability of an ecosystem is important as it affect the functioning of the ecosystem as processes are accelerated, biodiversity is decreased which greatly affects humans. Despite the negative effects caused by humans, they have discovered that ecosystems are susceptible from harm caused by natural environmental factors or human impacts and realised the importance of protecting and managing ecosystems therefore have implemented management strategies that are supposed to prevent further detriment and as a consequence may induce resiliency.
The natural environment refers to all forms of life and naturally occurring non-living things on the entire planet. It is the source of our water, air, food and climate on which our life, health and society is absolutely dependent.
Strawberry bushes go on for miles, green and red brightening the gloomy sky. Rolling hills of trees and fog surround the strawberry patch as birds come and go. The air has a crisp bite to it. The fresh scent of the air soothes the singing birds. “Strawberry fields Forever” by The Beatles plays softly somewhere in the distance pausing the calming silence. The song ends just before the birds start chirping again. A chilly breeze goes over the strawberry patch cooling everything in its path. The breeze carries the sweet aroma of fresh strawberries from place to place. The strawberry patch has a fresh dreaminess to it from the sweet strawberries that cover the earth. It will always stay the same with the fresh, sweet scent of Strawberries.
The environment can be described as all those elements, both the living and the non-living that surrounds us. The environment can also refer to the condition within which individuals, animals and plants lives. Mankind has a role to play in the environment, which mainly concerns taking care of the environment as well as improving it. Since, we as human beings are different from animals as we have a gift consciousness, we have an obligation of being improvers of the environment through ensuring that we observe environmental consciousness and that we avoid all those practices that negatively affects the environment and cause ecological crisis and problems. This essay will use the article “Towards a Buddhist Environmental Ethics” by Rita M Gross to help in the answering of the question “What is our appropriate role in relation the environment?” The essay will additionally look into the concept of ‘deep ecology’ by Bill Devall and George Sessions to get a deeper understanding of the ecology and our relationship with it, a concept that will help us to be in a better position to answer our appropriate role concerning the environment.
The environment is the home to all living and non-living organisms. It can be compared to a life support system that ensures the well-being of everyone. Recent cases of environmental degradation pose a threat to nature and the entire ecosystem. There has been increased awareness to educate individuals on the need to protect our environment with the aim of protecting the natural beauty and sustaining humanity.
“She took several quick steps up to the trunk of the maple, threw her arms around it, and kissed the tree soundly” (Creech 117). Sal’s mother, Chanhassen taught her to love and respect nature. Sal watched her mother eat a blackberry while peacefully singing. After eating Chanhassen kisses a maple tree. After seeing this, Sal goes outside and smells the same spot her mother kissed. She could smell a hint of blackberries. Now Sal always smells trees and think they all smell like blackberries. That reminds her
What are we doing to our environment? This is a question many people have asked but never quite been able to answer in the fullest way. How do we find out the answer then you ask? By multiple sources. There’s the ‘scare’ tactic, saying what could happen in the future if we don’t change our ways. There’s the ‘inspirational’ tactic which spreads the word of all good that we can, should, or maybe even have done to our environment. And last but not least, the ‘fiction transformation’ tactic which turns something that we would read ourselves or maybe to our children to open up our eyes of what’s going on. Why is this important to even know? Many different ‘eco enthusiasts’ express their research on the environment, this general tactic is called ecocriticism. Ecocriticism is where authors analyze texts that embellish environmental concerns and study the various
As I approach the turn to my Grandmother's house, my stomach turns in the anticipation of the perfectly sweet peanut butter cookie smell that awaits. As my mother turn up the long narrow gravel road and parked the car in front of her house. I stepped outside and a chilly little breeze bites at my cheeks. I take a deep breath and the sweet smell of burning cedar enters my nose. I
Environment means, the normal territory joins the fair environment, plasma, interesting particle emission, electromagnetic radiation (EMR), meteoroids, orbital debris, appealing field, physical and warm constants, and gravitational field. ( Robert E.1994). Environment means the area, water, air, plants, creatures; strong squanders and different things that are surrounding us compose our atmosphere. Operate and environments are almost scrambled with one another, to keep up equalization in nature. Deforestation suggests it is the change of timberland to another region use or the whole deal diminishment of the tree haven spread underneath the base 10% edge.( Mosandl, Weber.2008). Deforestation means
Environment is a medium which human being live, it comprises of air, water, plants, animals around us, and much more. In addition, it is the sum of natural and anthropogenic parameters and elements that
On this day of mindful hiking, I was lucky enough to embrace the sunny day and the cool breeze of Newfoundland fall. I could feel the cool breeze on my cheek while walking and smell the fresh air. As I walked through the trail that led to the park, I observed the trees and the fact that most of their leaves changed color. The leaves exhibited different shades of yellow, orange, red, and brown making the forest look more beautiful and vibrant. A subtle scent of the fresh leaves was coming from the forest. As I kept on
The early morning slightly pushed me the wind as I kept on walking forward through the woods. All lonely, I could faintly hear the birds chirping. The butterfly’s fluttering wings passed right above me through the early morning breeze. The moistness of the air felt as if the mist was sucking me in. Suddenly, the early morning sun started rising up through the early breeze. Soon after, the woods started glowing up green. The trees full of birds nest with the birds eggs in them. Soon, as I started looking down, I started seeing little creature eyes. You could smell the fresh smell of wood odor, after the only thing you could smell was the earthy smelling plants.
The forest’s smells were overwhelming, the fresh, earthy smell emitting from the dirt and plant life around me, was intoxicatingly sweet while the air was sour making my nose tingle . Creating the perfect mix of sweet and sour. I kinda liked it, very calming. I continued walking down a path in the foliage, where the trees and bushes wouldn't grow there as if aiding me in my search. Belatedly I realized that, I have been walking aimlessly. Gradually, without my noticing as I had been walking my body began to feel numb my natural sense of direction fading. My tongue was thick, my ears had a sound blocking bubble in them, yet I still kept going desperate for some reason to find whatever I was searching for. Unfortunately the longer I walked,
The connection between society and Environment is very crucial. However, to be able to understand the connection between the two first it is important to understand what the two terms mean individually. A society is a group of people involved in a social interaction and the deeper study of society, human behavior and related concepts is called sociology. Furthermore, Environment is our physical and biological factors along with their chemical interactions which affect an organism or a number of organisms.
A photograph of Earth reveals a great deal, but it does not convey the complexity of our environment. Our environment (a term that comes from the French environner, “to surround”) is more than water, land, and air; it is the sum total of our surroundings. It includes all of the biotic factors, or living things, with which we interact. It also includes the abiotic factors, or nonliving things, with which we interact. Our environment includes the continents, oceans, clouds, and ice caps you can see in the photo of Earth from space, as well as the animals, plants, forests, and farms that comprise the landscapes around us. In a more inclusive sense, it also encompasses our built
