I am privileged to be one of the recipients of the Entre Nous Endowed Scholarship. Thanks to your generous support I am able to pursue my dreams. It is with great honor that I extended my deepest appreciation to you. Receiving this scholarship will prepare me for the education I need to help build my future. On this very day, I have graduated from Eureka High School. With hard work and determination, I was able to graduate in the top ten of my class. Throughout my high school years, I was apart of National Honor Society, Golf, Basketball and Softball. Being a member of the National Honor Society has allowed me partake in community service opportunities. Giving back to others is a key aspect in becoming a selfless person, which I have learned
In high school I have learned the true meaning of being selfless and what the gift of giving is. I have spent much of my high school career volunteering at school and in the community. Many students spend their years of high school partying and hanging out with their friends, but I have dedicated myself to staying after school every day to volunteer and help the Athletic Trainer at the High School, as well as being a part of our schools community service group, Youth Core, as an officer.
During high school I have made some great accomplishments that I am very proud of such as being on the honor roll all four years of high school even receiving academic excellence for two out of the four. I am a member of National Honors Society and Student Council at Central High School. I ran track for two years and played volleyball all four years of high school. When I am not busy at school I am either working at Whitey’s Ice cream where I am currently a supervisor or volunteering.
It is an honor to be considered for membership for the National Honor Society. The service that I have done throughout my high school career will benefit me later in life. If I get accepted I will do more service with the school, classmates, and community. So far, I have joined Band and am part of the News Crew.
Some of my favorite memories made in high school thus far are due to my involvement in the Best Buddies program. Best Buddies is offered across the United States and is a non-profit organization dedicated to ending the exclusion of people with special needs. I joined the program my freshman year and was selected my junior year of high school to be in the Best Buddies class where I get to develop a closer relationship with all of the buddies. In total there are about twenty-five special needs kids that attend my school. I am proud to attend a school that welcomes these kids and always makes sure to include them in major school events and extracurricular activities. Recently, Tyler, one of the buddies, scored a touchdown while playing with our varsity football team. This was a proud moment for the Best Buddies class because we wanted him to have this amazing experience.
Receiving the letter of candidacy for this prestigious society is now giving me the opportunity to express myself in different ways. By becoming a member of the National Honor Society I will
National Honor Society My acceptance into the National Honor Society is one that I am exceptionally proud of. I was inducted into the society in 11th grade and will continue to be a member throughout my senior year. Those inducted meet the standards of the four pillars which are scholarship, leadership, service, and character. I have worked extremely hard in my studies throughout my four years of high school and feel that it is right to be recognized. It is nice to be surrounded by like-minded individuals and those who are determined to achieve greatness.
After the induction ceremony, I came before my mom, both of us smiling. Words were not necessary for me to know that my mom was proud of me. Being in National Honor Society was something that did not just made my parents proud, but it made me proud of myself. The honor of being in the club is not the only reason why the club is so valuable for me. It is the experience that I get form interacting and working with students from other grade levels that really inspires me. The club meetings and activities allow me to meet amazing individuals that I might have never had the opportunity to meet. National Honor Society is also a club that helps and encourages their club members to give back to the community. Some events that National Honor Society
I believe I should be selected as a Noble Educational Fund scholarship recipient because I would serve as a good representative for the program. I would represent the program meeting the required criteria’s such as the written reports after each semester, the transcripts of the previous semester, and maintaining the required grade point average. In doing so I will work hard and be diligent in all of my actions. I will make sure to keep the programs astonishing reputation. In no way would I want to cause obstruction towards the program. This being the origin for all of my hard work. Of course I want to be represent myself in a mannerly way as well. Also, working hard for myself in order to acquire my degree. However, being offered this scholarship would be a momentous
I still remember the time in Middle School when I was inducted as a member of NJHS(National Junior Honor Society). It was truly an honor to be accepted such a recognition for my outstanding grades and admirable characters. While receiving the certificate, I looked over to my parents who had big smiles on their face, they were very proud. Being a member of NJHS made me realize I play an important role in the community.
1) As a Roncalli student, I have been able to participate in many memorable service activities both as an individual and in a large group. From freshman year, I have accumulated the most service during the summer time when I have had the opportunity to be involved coaching youth teams in different sports. This service is the most special to me because it is a way for me to volunteer in activities that I myself love and have a passion for. It has taught me a lot, and I think I have gotten as much out of it as the girls I coach have. Another notable service is the service I was able to participate in with my classmates as a volunteer at Journey Home. This service really opened my eyes to the issues people and families face here in Aberdeen. I was happy that I was able to experience and learn something new while helping a cause and helping people in my own community that I otherwise would have never known about. This year, I was also able to volunteer to be a group leader at a Roncalli Junior High Retreat. When I was younger I always knew it was something I wanted to experience and I loved being there. It was great to meet the younger kids and help them along throughout the day while they experienced a retreat for the first time. I hope to continue these service activities as I get older and move out of my time in high school wherever I end up.
I am interested in the leadership opportunities within the Endowed Scholars Program. I was a parliamentarian in high school for local school SkillsUSA chapter for a year. My job is to cooperate with other members on the leadership team to create plan to improve different workforce skills in construction, architecture and engineering. I also maintained the order of the discussion in general meeting, and compile feedback to improve the chapter. Also, I was in the Urban Barcode Research Program to work with a professor in her current study. I worked with Professor Alter in genetic study of the fish species in the Bronx River. I need to research about the background of the Bronx River, genetic techniques that were used in the labs, and understand
The number one thing most of the college students wish to receive is a scholarship. I am one of those students, and believe I deserve to be selected for Virgene Horn Memorial International Scholarship, because as a hard working student, I commit myself to effectively take advantage of the opportunity that the scholarships will provide me. During my high school years, I got a first place in Informatics Olympics Games in Baku, Azerbaijan. Moreover, I was a captain of the Maccabi Azerbaijan basketball team and player of Azerbaijan national team U-18.
Some might say I have been preparing for a Fulbright scholarship my entire life. I grew up in Washington D.C., and at age 11 our family moved 3,000 miles across country to Portland. My father got a better job, and with a promise of a better life, we moved west. This move was my first step in learning about different cultures, and dialects. There is a different way of life in the Western United States, compared to the East, and I can still fit into both. I was recently introduced to a term that fits me well: edge walker. These are people who are able to walk the line between two cultures.
Although I didn't attend High School, I have memories and experiences during the 3 years that I didn't attend that I will remember forever. I'm so thankful to those that supported me and kept me going when I felt I couldn't. The friends I met online and became
Throughout my high school career I have been able to accomplish several of my personal goals. One of the goals that I accomplished was being on the honor roll every nine weeks throughout my four years of high school. With maintaining a spot on the honor roll, it has earned me a grade point average of a 3.214 out of a 4.0 scale. Another goal that I accomplished for myself was, being able to participate in school actives such as the varsity scholastic bowl team and the Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America. This was an accomplishment for me because while I was participating in these organizations, I was also able to give back to my community and the people in it. The last accomplishment that I have achieved throughout my high school career, was being able to gain acceptance into the college of my dreams, that I will be attending in the fall of 2016.
