Throughout the evolution of modern music we have seen many different artists come and go in the pop music scene. Some have been able to leave a lasting mark while others have only managed to be a one hit wonder. However, there are the few that have been able to influence and completely alter the course of an entire music genre. One of those honorable mentions is a college dropout named Kanye Omari West whom throughout his entire career, with an arsenal of 7 critically acclaimed albums, has been able to pave the way for many of todays top hip-hop/pop artists.

I am reviewing Eminem’s latest album Marshall Mathers LP2. This album is a revisitation of Marshall Mathers LP. It is rumored to be his final public work and fortunately for his fans provides closure for some of the themes from MMLP. The song “Bad Guy” in MMLP2 is told from the perspective of a crazed fan’s little brother Michael and it provides closure for the song “Stan” from MMLP.

Many people in his life said he was a very anti-social person who had immense difficulty making friendship which also leads him to a child who cannot find his way out of trouble. He said he was “not interested in school because all he wanted to do was rap” which goes to show he was not a good role model to immolate, Eminem didn’t start his rap career until he was 14. At the beginning, he wasn’t seen as a rapper that people should be taken seriously, but over time he had to earn the respect of his fans and critics.
