Trump nomination has me eating crow. There's a lot of things I can easily point out to that might of cause Hillary chance of winning. But the damn Electrola College is a complete BS. Al Gore lost to President Bush in 2000 with the popular vote, the same way Hillary lost to Trump. Essentially every vote doesn't count. That's completely asinine! Democrats lost the House, Senate, White House and apparently the Supreme Court. Yup! we are in herd of trouble.........
Hello, my name is Susan Stewart. I am a member of the Wheatland High School Grad Night Committee. The committee is comprised of Volunteers who plan and facilitate the Safe and Sober Grad Night event for Wheatland High School graduates. Committee members are meeting with local community businesses and leaders like yourself, to ask if they would be interested in supporting an event aimed at keeping our local teens safe on such a celebratory night.
Many people woke up the morning after the election worried about the next four years in our country. Although Clinton won the popular vote by a landslide, Trump had won the electoral college vote making him president. People coped with this in many different ways. Some accepted it or celebrated, some rioted and complained, while others were thinking of ways the results could be changed. A petition on change.org surfaced saying that the electoral college could cast their vote against whhat their state voted for. Currently, the petition has 4,505,367 supporters and their goal 6,000,000. There’s a small chance that Hillary Clinton can still end up in the White House depending on what happens on December 19th.
This shows the majority of the country who voted is likely unhappy about the result in the election, and the electoral college is not the best way to select a candidate. I think the electoral college should be removed because it makes different peoples votes have more value than others, which changed the result in this election, and a few past elections as well.
I grew up in a quaint yet homely apartment that had paint chipping off its walls and a musty, mold smell that permeated the air in a downtown Brooklyn neighbourhood where the stench of sewage was a daily occurrence and it was unremarkable to witness two asian grandmas up at each other’s throats. I wasn’t raised in the happiest and privileged place in the world yet I didn’t let my adversities throw me down to the ground. I appreciate that Columbia is like a plane. It contains people of all walks in life and educational backgrounds, but what matters most is not where we from, it is that we are all reaching the same destination, the destination where we all become open minded, educated adults.
AW: Speaking of the new project: when we told our viewers that we would be speaking with you many of the fans BEGGED us to get more details on an upcoming rock project. They want to know basically anything you can throw at us. Do you have a release timeframe in mind? A single in the works? Is there anything about that project you could tell us that you’re excited to speak about?
“What a game, the boys, played well, Justin is a great hitter.” After winning the first game in their new renovate ballpark, excitement filled Coach Bill.
A. Soon after giving blood you will receive a copy of your blood type, in case you do not know it, in the mail.
I am writing to you in hopes that I could make you look deeply into the importance of free college. I strongly believe that free college should be provided for all citizens no matter their race. Free college should be supported by our government. In the United States ,many young tennagers stop chasing their drean because college is very expensive and they cannot afford the price that is required to pay so they can get an career and be educated.
Donald Trump’s loss to Hilary Clinton in the popular vote means that Republicans have lost the popular vote six of the last seven presidential elections (Ayres, 2016). This is very controversial because in the past, this has only happened four times. People question whether Trump can be president despite not winning the popular vote. Trump managed to win 290 electoral votes while Clinton only won 232 votes. Clinton did win the popular vote with more than 64.3 million votes while Trump won 62.2 million (Wolf, 2016). That’s more than 2 million votes Clinton won with. The number increased for Clinton because of the absentee ballots reported from California (Wolf, 2016). Two things that have surfaced following the election are: the possibility of electors changing their votes and eliminating the electoral college. The possibility of the electors changing their votes to go with the popular vote on Dec. 19 when they officially gather to file their votes. The election is technically not decided until the electors vote and then their votes are counted by Congress days after the next session begins in the new year (NPR, 2016). It is likely that eliminating the electoral college will not happen because it is something that was established in the Constitution. If they were to get rid of it, then Congress would have to pass an amendment to the Constitution and the states would have to ratify it (NPR, 2016). For this same reason, with Trump not winning the popular vote, he should not be
Shawn and I were getting ready to go to the teen choice awards. Shawn was wearing a grey shirt withhold black jeans and black vans. I was wearing a black tight short dress that went to the middle of my thighs and black 3 inch heels." Y/N are you ready to go Andrew and my dad are almost here" Shawn asked." Hi Y/N. how are you?" Andrew asks. "excited! What about you?". "Good, thanks for asking" Andrew responds. " Hi Manny, how are you ?". " good thanks you" Manny
I am sure that everyone of you have heard about aliens and UFOs. Indeed, we all have heard about the famous case of aliens and UFOs in Roswell, New Mexico. Most people might be interested in the topic of aliens, but I know that the majority of you just think of it as rumours and the existence of them are impossible. Therefore, I am standing here in front all of you to make you change your perspective. I am strongly confident that I have found the evidence of their real existence to convince all of you.
For example, using a leftover coffee can for loose nails or screws, or even washing and reusing a plastic zip-loc bag instead of throwing it in the garbage. Thrift shopping is a way of reusing someone else’s unwanted goods. As I spoke about in an earlier speech about thrifting, I included many locations and ways to thrift, also the benefits to the shopper and the donator. One place in particular was shopping at the local boys and girls club. I personally shop there, keeping my eyes open for a good deal. For example, the pair of jeans that I am wearing today was purchased from this store just a few months ago. I paid only $8.00 for this pair of Lucky Jeans and according to buckle.com, a retailer for lucky jeans the retail price is $99.00 that is a savings to me of $91.00.I am not the type to worry about name brands, but quality usually does cost more. If I can get a quality pair of jeans at a fraction on the price, I am glad to shop at the thrift store. I am thankful to the person that made the donation of the lucky jeans and they can benefit from that donation. According to the IRS webpage, IRS. Gov it explains that an individual can donate items like clothing, household furniture and furnishings, a car or boat, even taxidermy. The donations are appraised, by the donator, and recorded. At the time of filing taxes if the donation equals at least $500 for the year, the donator may take advantage of the
Very early on when I was growing up, my parents would push me to do better in school and at my baseball games. For me going to school and practice keep on getting repetitive so as a young kid, I did what anyone would do, I started getting lazy and started to slack off. Don’t get me wrong I still keep on doing most of my homework and I still went to practice, I just didn’t put in the effort to do better that I knew I can. But after this game, this one game where it came down to the wire, I had experienced the most tragic lost in my baseball career. And to this day, I’ll never forget the words that my grandpa told me after the game…
While at family events, or social gatherings does it seem like the first 3 questions you are asked to stay the same for everyone you talk to. Starting off with, “how are you doing?”, “What colleges are you interested in?”, and lastly “What are you planning on majoring in?” I don 't know what i want to eat for dinner tonight, let alone what I wanna do for the rest of my life. Almost as if the only thing people care about anymore is college, and what major you pick. It seems to be common knowledge today that college is the only correct answer anymore. I believe it 's important for you to further your education whether that be through a trade school, learning on the job, military, or college.
One day, I was at school my mom came to pick me up from school early I thought I had a doctor appointment. We were walking out and my mom, she looks at me and I was like WHAT!!!!!!!! She like I got to tell you something, but you promise me that you won´t cry I was like I promise. We got into the car and my mom was like your dad got deported. I was speechless, shock and I started tearing up. The only thing that pops up in my head was about my brother and sister what are we going to do now? How are they going to take it when my mom tells them? We got home and I asked my mom when is she telling my brother and sister that my dad got deported, she like whenever we sit down and eat dinner. We sat down at the table to eat dinner and everything got quiet my mom was like Gabby and David I got something to tell y'all. My mom finally told my brother and sister they started tearing up and brother was like you are lying to me, I was like David we ain't lying we telling the truth and he went running to his room. That same day my mom had to go back to work and we couldn't stay alone at home, so we went to work with her. We had to stay there until 1 in the morning that's the time my mom got out of work.We had no support from my dad family the only support we had was my mom's brother Nando and one of my dad's family in Memphis. My mom's brother, he goes to work at 9 pm and gets out at 8 am and he came here to see us if everything okay. He would wash our clothes when my mom would be working.
