Education is a learning experience which is mastered throughout one’s lifetime. It does not only consist of what a person learns in a school, but also includes the knowledge a person acquires throughout their own life. Hence, it is considered as one of the enlightening experiences in an individual’s life. Education contains characteristics similar to a coin, it can free through opening up new opportunities, encouraging self-esteem, and opening new ways of critical thinking; But then, it can also limit by standardized education, taking control over students, and by the use of fear and intimidation. The factors that play a crucial role in these freedoms and limitations are teachers, the internet, and the school curriculum. A teacher can free students by encouraging self-esteem, but at the same time, they can limit by using fear and intimidation. Also, the internet plays a vital role because it frees students by opening up new ideas and opportunities, but it also limits by taking complete control over the students. In addition, the curriculum also plays an imperative part in the education. It can free students by letting them use critical thinking, on the other hand, it can also limit students by standardized curriculum and providing them with an average education. If one thinks critically, education is a controversial topic which has both good and bad sides that are worth analyzing. Teachers are one of the most influential figures in a student’s life. It is chief
Education has been the subject of some of the most heated discussions in American history. It is a key point in political platforms. It has been subject to countless attempts at reform, most recently No Child Left Behind and Common Core. Ardent supporters of institutional schools say that schools provide access to quality education that will allow the youth of our country to gain necessary skills to succeed in life. Critics take a far more cynical view. The book Rereading America poses the question, “Does education empower us? Or does it stifle personal growth by squeezing us into prefabricated cultural molds?” The authors of this question miss a key distinction between education and schooling that leaves the answer far from clear-cut. While education empowers, the one-size-fits-all compulsory delivery system is stifling personal growth by squeezing us into prefabricated cultural molds.
I'll never forget the first time I survived going to Six Flags. The wind blowing every time you pass a roller coaster coming your way, the screams of the children, the fear and anxiety before going into the cart, and the delicious smell of all the food! When I was little I HATED roller coasters I hated the feeling in my stomach I get when I go down, but as you know you grow out of fears sometimes and start liking new things as you get older. For me one of them was starting to like roller coasters.
Education has always been an universal matter of discussion for those who teach and and even for those who learn. This discussion has now become urgent especially since the advent of new technologies and their implications for education. Today there are many studies, ideas and experiences ongoing in education.
The teacher’s role is to value all of their learners as individuals and to treat them equally and to create stimulating and effective opportunities within the class that enable the development and progression of all students. The
This paper is my personal educational philosophy statement. It represents my ideas and values about teaching and learning; it reveals my personal teaching beliefs and their relation to the five major established educational philosophies; it shows my role and responsibilities in educational process. I place great significance on personal style of instruction and its influence on curriculum implementation. The paper also highlights my career aspiration and orientation.
High student success only can happen if the teacher impacts the student. When a teacher becomes a teacher-leader they are the most significant factor in helping improve their student’s achievement. As it mentioned in the book a
Becoming a teacher is going to be one of the greatest accomplishments of my life. Teaching was never a childhood dream for me like it was with others. Some people have always known that they wanted to become some type of teacher, but I never decided to until I entered college. I’ve always loved being around children and it makes me feel great to be able to help someone, so becoming a teacher is the perfect career choice for me.
For me, the decision to become a teacher is more of a way of life than a career. I have always loved school, practicing at being school marm from a young age, and voraciously devouring every shred of education offered me in my career as a student. If it were possible, I would be a student for the rest of my life. And then I still would not have learned enough. As a teacher, I hope to instill this appetite for knowledge in secondary students. They are, after all, the future leaders of the world, and what better place to expand the minds of the generations to come than here in Appalachia where education programs, especially the sciences, which I plan to teach, are poorly funded and children’s dreams
Education is the process of learning that can take place anywhere and at any time. I believe that creativity and activity as well as books and lessons are essential to the learning process. As a teacher, I hope to instill in the children a sense of knowledge and self-worth that will remain with them throughout their lives.
Many people in history, as well as my mentors, have influenced my personal learning philosophy about early childhood learning.
The education habits of students are rooted in them from the earliest days of their educational careers. The different influences on students, whether it be inside educational institutions, or outside is huge. The teacher of a classroom is the first and most pertinent influence in a student's educational career. Teachers provide students with the basic skills they would need to survive not only in the academic world, but also the world beyond. The relationship between teachers and their students is the key element in creating an educational atmosphere that is both pleasant and effective.
My passion is to not only teach students in a creative and positive way that they are actually learning but also to inspire them to learn and make something great of themselves in their future. The reason being when I was younger I did not take my education that serious. If I would have known then how serious an education was, I feel that I could have accomplished more in middle and high school. After school I wouldn't care about actually learning about my homework. For this reason I want to inspire kids to want to learn at a young age and for them to see that their education and work ethic is very important even at their age. Most importantly I want my future students to want to learn.
"Some people make things happen, some watch while things happen, and some wonder ‘what happened?’ Which type of person are you?" author unknown.
Learning has always been on of my favorite things to do. Partially because I've always done well in school, but also due to my innate desire to know everything. I hate not understanding anything whether it be how a battery works or why a person makes the choices they do. As a teenager, I have been in school all my life, which has been my primary source of information. Classroom education can certainly have its limits due to the confined environment, but my teachers and classes have opened my mind to see the world around me. The simplest things like basic addition and plural noun conventions seem so obvious to me now, but at one point, I had a teacher to explain these concepts to me. As these lessons have evolved into solving differential equations and composing analysis of complex literary works, I have been able to expand my brain. My learning experiences have expanded beyond the classroom in a more immersive, hands-on capacity. With my parents, I have been able to travel both inside and outside the country, showing me about different cultures and ways of life. Moreover, my time doing competitive robotics and
Learning and knowledge are highly prized in all societies, especially here in Ireland, where there is a strong tradition of respect for education. The choices that individuals make when leaving school, in particular whether to pursue higher education or not, are likely to have a long lasting effect on their lifestyle. The main purposes for a University education involve: social, national and educational purposes and for the individual personal purposes and moral development. These topics will be addressed in the following paragraphs.
