Edgar Allen Poe Do you like a little bit of strange and whimsical writing? Edgar Allen Poe wraps both of those adjectives into his writing. There is a day in Pittsburgh where a reading of Edgar Allen Poe’s works are read. We could benefit very much from this. If we go we would learn much more about Edgar Allen Poe, we would be exposed to different types of literature, and we could help with the costs. We would learn a lot by going to see this Edgar Allen Poe demonstration. Mr. Poe writes his stories with a lot of whimsy and strangeness. Here at school we are not often exposed to that type of writing. Also, his writing style is different from other authors. He is not entirely focused on getting that perfect, happy ending. We will also be exposed to culture. There is lots and lots of culture in Pittsburgh. Just driving driving down a street in a van we can learn very much. Besides, being in the accelerated English class we don’t have a literature class. This would be a perfect opportunity to include some literature into our class. Before or after we go we could write an expository essay on Edgar Allen Poe. We could also read some of his works. For example, “ The Tell Tale Heart,” or “The Raven.” Finally, while being there, we would be exposed to a few different types of literature, mainly poetry and fiction. We do not often read a lot of poetry in school, and I highly doubt that students go home and read poetry of all things to read. These are just a few of all of the benefits we would gain by
