Dreamer’s Rock made me think about iron man one of my favorite superheroes in the movies and the man who played him Robert Downey Jr.
Robert Downey Jr used to be like Rusty in Toronto at Dreamer's Rock both had drinking and drug problems and both made a oath to better themselves.
Robert Downey Jr was born 1965. From 1996 through 2001 Downey was arrested numerous times on drug-related charges including cocaine, heroin and marijuana and went several times through drug treatment programs unsuccessfully, saying this in 1999 to a judge: "It's like I've got a shotgun in my mouth with my finger on the trigger, and I like the taste of the gun metal." He says his relapses by claiming to have been addicted to drugs since the age of eight, due to the
Stone Temple Pilots were able to turn alternative rock into stadium rock; naturally, they became the most critically despised band of their era. Accused by many critics of being nothing more than ripoff artists who pilfered from Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, and Alice in Chains, the bandmates nevertheless became major stars in 1993. And the influence of those bands was apparent in their music, although Stone Temple Pilots did manage to change things around a bit. STP were more concerned with tight song structure and riffs than punk rage. Their closest antecedents were not the Sex Pistols or Hüsker Dü; instead the band resembled arena rock acts from the '70s -- they made popular hard rock that sounded good on the radio and in concert. No matter what
John Coleman Boyd was born March 16, 1802. He settled in Chambers County, Alabama. He purchased land that was previously held by they Creek Indians and built a house. The original house was built with native fieldstone by slave labor. The home was known as the “Rock House.” Under the rock rooms there was room to store fruit, vegetables, and other produce. There was a smoke house for curing and preserving meat products. These were all a necessity to survive. In the grove there were log cabins that were the slave quarters. Today all that remains of the cabins is a lone chimney. John Coleman Boyd had about 1,900 acres and he acquired other properties. After looking in further it was shown that John Coleman’s total estate was valued at $88,000 and that he owned 42 slaves. John Coleman told a good friend Sam Jeter that a man should not stay in one place too long. Because of this John Coleman went to Northeast Texas there he purchased some land. He made his decision to move to Texas, he got the wagon train to be loaded and ready to leave. The night before they were going to leave John Coleman suffered a stroke. During his illness John Coleman continued to manage his Boyd Tank properties by having some slaves pull him around the farm in a rickshaw-type cart. During his illness his wife Elizabeth sold some of his properties in Texas. He later dies on March 2, 1861.
If you love something, should you let it go? Or should you hold onto it, even through bruised and bloodied knuckles? Do you even have a reason to be hanging on? Is it because you truly believe you love something? Or is it because you love the idea of never letting go?
The person who was inspirational to me was Dwayne Johnson, known as “The Rock”. Dwayne "The Rock" Douglas Johnson was born on May 2, 1972, in Hayward, California. He is a Professional actor and wrestler. He is the grandson of professional wrestler Peter Fanene Maivia, known as "High Chief”. The Rock grew up by watching his father perform in the ring. Without following his father's footsteps, he joined and played for his college football team at the University of Miami. He was very successful during his college football life, until a back injury which starred his dream to join the NFL. With little expectation in his professional football career, later the rock turned to wrestling, following his father's path. His first debut in the WWE was against the Brooklyn Brawler in Texas. He was the most entertaining and

I have chosen to write about one of my favorite alternative rock band, Red Hot Chili Peppers from Los Angeles, California. My decision was based upon two things; one being I like the band, while the other was to learn if some of their music is sending the wrong message to our young people. I personally would not consider myself music sappy; never have I really been given a chance to listen to music as I grew up, to find what I like. As of today, I don’t know who sings what song nor really know what the lyric’s mean. With today’s environment young people are given a chance to be inspired by different kinds of media; thus giving them the opportunity to actually find out what the artist is meaning behind the songs. After interviewing four participation;
Nick Cave is a famous American performance artist. He was born in Fulton Missouri on February 4, 1959. He dedicates great part of his artist life to make fabric sculptures. He is best known for his ability to make wearable sound suits. The work of Nick Cave uses found objects and bright colored fabrics to create his famous sound suit sculptures. The sound suits bring out the voice of those who have been silenced by the hands of cruel individuals who feel so powerful to kill when are allowed to carry a gun. According to Healey,J. “ Art is the voice of the silent souls” (Healey, 2014). I believe Nick Cave is that instrument that gave Trayvon Martins a voice. Nick Cave draws his inspiration from existing racial tension and street gun violence that impacts the black community. We can learn more about his work and
As anyone that joins the temple, I consider it as my home. This temple allows its member to flourish into a more mature and spiritually advanced person. When a person first joins the temple they are welcomed with open arms into our regular routines. Then they are included in our new and innovative way to pray, Rock Shabbat. I am proud to be able to regularly attend Rock Shabbat. Being part of this temple means that I am able to become more spiritually advanced, which I can hope to be for the rest of my life. I have grown so much since I joined the temple, and not just physically. I now am a more mature woman of the Jewish people. I now understand the necessity for tzedakah and performing mizvot in everyday life. The teachers and the fellow
The Iron Maiden The iron maiden was possibly the most brutal method of torture that ever existed. The device is an instrument of torture and a death instrument as well. One of the worst parts in the torture device is the fact that the victim wouldn’t be killed instantly but instead bleeds out over a period of hours, maybe for the unlucky victims, days. Not only did the victim have spikes jabbing into his or her body, but the device was designed to keep the victim in a closed and confined space to increase the already horrendous torture that consists inside of the maiden. Those are some features that makes the iron maiden as horrendous and terrible to the victim inside.
The Ramones helped conceive punk rock by mastering a simple but effective sound - a combination of swift grooves, sing-along tunes and deadpan lyrics that achieved a sort of absurd brilliance. The sound influenced thousands of bands, and proved so durable that the Ramones stuck to it for their entire career.
As one of the most popular music genres, rock music has grown and expanded to incorporate many styles throughout the years. A rock band usually consists of a vocalist, an acoustic drum kit played with a strong beat, usually a back beat, and features electric and acoustic guitars. From its beginnings in the late 1950s and early 1960s until the present day, rock has changed styles seemingly every decade as new bands become popular because of their unique style of music. Throughout the years rock has influenced our culture and helped shape the world we live in today.
What I found interesting about the early Rock music genre is that despite the negativity upon the musicals and productions, rock music was still able to heard and inspire people into shows in Broadway. Many composers tried to bring rock 'n' roll in a new direction while taken the past experience with rock 'n' roll into account. Like for instance, Bye Bye Birdie had many songs that didn't reflect any rock 'n' roll influence and had lyrics that didn't sound impressive. It had reinforced that for critics, the fusion of musical theater fare and rock 'n' roll is just loud and ridiculous noise and was by no means a bold departure from previous theatrical forms. However, it brought attention
There are many subcultures created by musical genres. These genres of music are so intertwining that different groups of people become a cultural phenomenon. These people start to form a familiarly of looks and ideas. Musical subcultures that influence New York music scene would be Ramones However, these similarities do sometimes make people generalizes personalities, cultures and physicality. American punk features a dominant culture that can be viewed as a group of individuals with their own values and philosophy. Punk tried to go against anything that was socially acceptable.
