Drakes Hotline Bling video is four minutes and fifty five seconds filled with beautiful women, vibrant colors and witty dance moves. The video starts off in a call center filled with beautiful young women wearing pink t-shirts and fitted blue jeans. They are all on the phone talking to men about random things. The office is plain white and grayish the women add flavor to the scene balancing out the scenes overall intentions. I believe that Drake is trying to show the viewer that all women think alike and want the same thing in a relationship with this first scene. The hotline bling instrumental than starts to play than here comes Drake himself in the next scene. He is shown dancing in a mellow yellow rectangular box wearing a puffy red jacket, gray …show more content…
His witty dance moves throughout the video shows he’s just going with the flow until she returns in his life. Drake is a very likeable artist because he’s easy to read in an artistic way. He gets straight to the point. A lot of people knows where he’s coming from and what his art means. The hotline bling video shows symbolism. The colors don’t only mean the different females Drake has talked to. It also expresses the feelings and emotions drake has for the women. Drake’s wardrobe throughout the video is very warm like giving the vibe he’s very enthusiastic. Although she’s not calling his cellphone he’s not losing sleep over it. There’s plenty of fish in the sea. Although I know what the lyrics mean to this song the video taught me a lot about the perception of things. How colors and scenery can really tell a vibe. Drake wants the audience to be amazed and happy. The colors and dancing really goes with the jolly low cut type beat. Giving the viewers free will to express their joy for the song. The video is very exciting to the human eye. The various colors make up for the plain empty rooms throughout the
The song called “Hotline Bling” is sung by Drake because his phone is constantly ringing like a “hotline.” The phone will forever ring because of fame and fans. In this song alliteration, nonstandard, and rhyme are being used. This song interest people just because of what he is saying and the way he is putting it.
He quotes, “We all got dreams and we all start reaching” (L. 24), expressing dreams becoming reality. Lights are spotlighted fame, while the money being thrown is income. Drake quotes “Housekeeping knocking to see if all ya”ll decent” (L. 25), suggesting party lifestyles. Being intoxicated, while not remembering who the partner was the night prior. It's hard to leave a surreal occupation with difficulties, which is expressed in “Houstatlantavegas”.
Here is the supplemental addition to my blog. I have incorporated it so that it is one read. This will contain all of the 3 paragraphs as requested by our instructor.

To their surprise, Drake won't budge. I personal like this song, because most people in the world will look you right in your face and smile but inside they're the people who don't want you to succeed in life. Then we've the people that will tell you, you'll never be nobody. But you as a person you can't let people stop you from succeeding in life, and once you've met your goal, you've to prove them wrong that tried to bring you down, and didn't believe in you that you're somebody, and you can do anything that you set your mind to do. Nobody can stop you from doing what you want to do. This song is basically proving people wrong and that's why I personally like this

His sound is "a fractured blend of minimal hip-hop and R&B that has drawn natural comparisons to fellow Canadians Drake and the Weekend”. He wants his audience to understand that the music video’s messaging is that the most important aspect of a woman is her
First, lets discuss the rhythm that takes place in this song in particular. According to Merriam Webster’s Dictionary, rhythm is defined as “a regular, repeated pattern of sounds or movements.” In this song the rhythm is consistent and has a catchy beat. Since the songs style is labeled as “contemporary hip-hop” the rhythm properly corresponds with it by using many instruments, which make up the pattern of sounds that are heard in the background of the singers. Rhythm is very important in a music piece because its one of the first things that catches the audiences attention.
Women’s sexuality in Blurred Lines is portrayed as being naturally animalistic but suppressed by society’s pressure to be a good girl. The song suggests that women just need a liberator like Thicke to free them of this suppression by being persistent in sexual pursuits and of course “smack that ass and pull your hair” in the process of liberation. Every action by a woman is perceived as being an indicator that they want wild sex as illustrated by the lyrics “the way you grab me, must wanna get nasty” . At one point in the music video a stop sign is placed atop a woman’s behind while the lyrics complain about the hate of blurred lines, because according to Blurred Lines, even stop means go. Men’s sexuality isn’t portrayed as animalistic or predatory in the song or video, instead men are liberators that are helping women by fulfilling the desires that they know women truly want. This is emphasized by Thicke chanting “I know you want it” throughout the entire song. The music video also addresses a key issue of men’s sexuality, penis size. In order to provide the most satisfaction for women, men must have a large penis. Thicke makes sure you know what he is working with by spelling out “Robin Thicke has a big dick” with silver balloons in the background of his music video. This is also addressed in T.I.’s verse where he tells women he will “give you somethin’ big enough to tear yo ass in two” . According to
There was a boy in a new middle school who had a black mom who was in South Carolina with two brothers, a step-mom who was white and was way better at being a mom. And he also had a dad who was puerto rican. The boy moved to a new state in 2013 and started a new life in a town called Plymouth. I was excited but once he started 1rst grade he was always being called and said stupid jokes about being black. This moved on to middle school which was way worst than being joked in elementary school. The middle school was way different, and some of the reasons why it was so different was because it had sports teams, you walk around the hallways to get to classes, and was to elementary schools put together and that is why it is so different. There were kids that think they are cool and bully or make fun of anyone who they don’t like and this is something that is going to come back to bother me!
A rapper couldn’t use a line describing what she did in the movie, let alone film it in a video, without getting heat for it” (Keyes 256). While some may choose to side with this argument, rap truly takes sexual portrayal of women in both music videos and songs to the next level.
All over history, music has been a critical commitment to people’s lives. Various kinds of music have been created after some time and impact people in unique ways. Of the numerous kinds that have come to frame, hip-hop has turned out to be more prominent inside today's standard pop culture. Alongside the formation of music recordings, hip-hop's popularity has taken off and changed from various perspectives. Inside the music videos of most hip-hop artists, men and women are portrayed in unmistakable and clear ways that may subconsciously influence our perspectives of the standards of today’s society. Hip-hop music videos are so present among the people that these depictions of sexual orientation parts frequently go unrecognized. The complicated
In music videos, such as Lollipop by Lil Wayne and Blurred Lines by Robin Thicke women are used as “eye candy” to the male and possibly some female viewers. In an article written by Erin Aubry some high school students where asked if rap music disrespected women. One student stated that “Women do things for the video that they didn’t have to do if they didn’t want.” (Aubry, 2015). Although this may be true, the directors of the videos do not have to put those women in those clothes. The main reason that women are put in the video is to attract viewers. Most male and some female viewers watch music videos to look at the women who can also be known as “video vixens”. Another example of this is the song "Birthday Song" by 2 Chainz. The video primarily focuses on the female’s body parts and pays attention only to her body parts. The song only focuses on the female’s physical feature and not on anything else. Women are used simply for pleasure in these music videos. They are not put in these videos because the artist thought that the woman simply had
