Donald Trump is focused primarily on helping Americans; he wants to ensure that Americans have jobs, wages, and security. In order to do so, Trump developed a “10 Point Plan to Put America First.” Trump wants to cease the mass immigration of Mexicans to America in search for work opportunities. If elected president, Trump wants to build a wall on the southern border of the United States, which will keep Mexicans out. Trump wants to make certain that any illegal immigrant is imprisoned and deported immediately. Trump does not tolerate any illegal immigrants in the United States and wants to make sure Americans are “put first.”
Hillary Clinton has an extremely different view on Immigration than Donald Trump. Hillary Clinton believes that as

She believes that school choice would kill off public schooling in America. Clinton’s standpoint is that children need to be educated at a young age and that will help them reach their maximum potential as they get older. As president, Hillary says she will make sure every 4-year-old in America goes to preschool. Hillary wants to focus more on providing education at younger ages, making sure education is affordable, and helping parents with children attending college decrease their stress levels. Hillary also wants to ensure that every teacher is working to the best of their abilities and preparing kids for how tough the world is today. She wants to fix America’s schools; she wants to make them offer helpful courses for the future and make schools safer across the country.
Gary Johnson believes that fixing education cannot be in done in Washington, D.C. He is in favor of state and local governments obtaining more power over the policies regarding education. Johnson thinks that abolishing the federal Department of Education will benefit education by having decisions regarding schooling made closer to home. Johnson believes in order to advance America’s education, Common Core needs to be terminated and that competition will help our
According to Emily Stewart, Trump’s immigration reform is the most straightforward way of dealing one of the most back and forth controversies of the United States in the 21st century. Firstly he wants to make Mexico build a wall on the border between them and the US in an attempt to keep illegal immigrants out of the US, and furthermore then he want to deport all of the suspected 11 million illegal immigrants from Mexico. His deportation plan alone would cost an estimated $600 billion dollars and take 10-15 years to complete disregarding the still incoming illegal immigrants coming from Latin America. Trump also wants to make a America more of a self reliant nation as he wants an entire tax code reform, an increase in foreign exports tariffs to the US to 35%, a breaking of NAFTA, and to bring major companies back to the US. Yet for all of these absurd points Trump brings up he never once explains how or when he is going to or try to accomplish these goals (Stewart). In the wise words of Benjamin Franklin, “...if you fail to plan [Trump], then you plan to
Donald and Hilary have very different views on immigration. Donald sees immigration as something that needs to be taken very seriously. His main solution is to build a wall and end and start new laws that will best keep illegal immigrants out of our country. While, Hillary wants to build a fence and will try to add new laws and reforms that will allow illegal immigrants to have a chance of a new life in the united states.
Donald Trump has voiced his strong opposition to Mexicans being in the United States; he even went as far as proposing the idea of building a wall separating Mexico from the US. According to Forbes’ article written by Dolia Estevez, “he wants to deport 11.3 million undocumented workers, 6 million of which are Mexicans, and strip babies born to undocumented immigrants of their birthright citizenship.”
Hillary Clinton is a democrat. She want to make it so that immigrants can continue staying here, according to this quote "I 'll end family detention, close private immigrant detention centers.” by closing the centers that accuse them of being here illegally. "As president, I 'll stand up for Planned Parenthood and women’s access to critical health services, including safe, legal abortion." according to this quote she is pro-abortion. The same source says, "I 'll take on the gun lobby and fight for commonsense reforms." this is stating that she doesn’t want to make guns illegal she just wants to make them harder to get so that they can’t fall into the wrong hands. Based on these issues
There are differing opinions from all, but most feel that immigration is a key issue that needs to be addressed immediately. Trump has been increasingly brash with his position on immigration reform. Going as far as to call children born to illegal aliens “anchor babies”. His immigration policy also calls for three core principles: a nation without borders is not a nation, a nation without laws is not a nation, and a nation that does not serve its own citizens is not a nation. (MLA) Along with these core principles Trump believes that Mexico should pay for the wall that he will build between the two countries, stating that “the annual cost of free tax credits alone paid to illegal immigrants quadrupled to $4.2 billion in 2011.” He also wants to triple the number of ICE officers and have better cooperation between local, state, and federal law enforcement. There are other policies he wishes to implement such as: defunding sanctuary cities, deporting all criminal immigrants, and increasing penalties for persons who overstay their visa. Last but not least, Trump wishes to ignore the 14th Amendment and end birthright citizenship for children who are born to illegal aliens. He has affectively ruined any support that he may have had from the latino
Donald Trump wants Mexico to pay for a wall at the border which will reduce crime and lower taxes. He wants an end to birthright citizenship and the mandatory detention of undocumented immigrants. He wants American workers to be put first.
Which includes solving the issue with visa delays, protecting the national security and borders, and includes undocumented people in the economy (Immigration Reform). Therefore, if congress does not fix the comprehensive reform of immigration, then Hillary has a plan. I believe that the immigration reform needs to be modified. Citizenship as a result equals more opportunities for undocumented people in the United States. I agree with Clinton, the visa issue needs to be confronted. Undocumented people decide to risk their lives because they are tired of waiting for a visa. In addition causing families to be torn apart because parents of undocumented families are the first to go. Hillary Clinton wants families to stay united by creating a system for parents of Dreamers and supporting a deferred action plan. I support that because my parents, if not for their permanent residency would be in that position of being deported. I believe Clinton when she promises to bring those people into the formal economy. There are undocumented people who pay taxes and own a home, yet they do not contribute to the economy. It is unfair for undocumented people to work low waged jobs, without a doubt they have the skills and determination for higher waged jobs. Undocumented people believe there is hope for a new life, safe
Hillary has a very different view on how immigration should be dealt with. Clinton states she will allow refugees into the country who are seeking asylum. However, she will not require them to have a screening test. She also states she wants to focus efforts on helping immigrants become citizens and get rid of the 3-10 year bar. Hillary wants to make the citizenship process much easier and less expensive which will in turn cause 9 million people to be eligible to become citizens.Clinton also will stand behind Obama’s past immigration laws such as DAPA and DACA where as Trump wants to ignore these and completely start over with much harsher laws. Lastly, Clinton wants to change the detention policies and completely get rid of the private immigration detention centers.
U.S. immigration policy has always been an important topic debated by Presidential candidates for decades. Immigration reform has been ignored by Congress, leaving decisions up to the President and Supreme Court. In the meantime, the hopes of about eleven million illegal immigrants in the U.S., as well as future rules for legal immigration, rest on the shoulders of those decision makers. Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump both agree that changes to U.S. immigration policy are needed; however, Donald Trump is taking a radical approach suggesting mass deportation and completely revamping U.S. immigration policy, whereas, Hillary Clinton is overlooking some issues and wants to continue to support the policy set forth by the Obama Administration. Regardless of who becomes President, they will have a hard time getting these issues passed through Congress.
While a constant flow of people coming to America seems like a great idea to most, President-elect Trump thinks the U.S need to limit the people it let in. During his campaign he said he would repeal DACA and kick out all illegal immigrants. His thought process behind this is that it will free up jobs for Americans. Trump is right that it will free up jobs as roughly “8 million illegal immigrants currently have jobs”, but the issue is that Americans won’t have the proper training to take all of these jobs (Krogstad). This will lead to companies not producing what they should and being forced to lay off people. So overall by kicking out all immigrants Trump will be costing many Americans jobs and could lead to another depression. Another thing that Trump has said he will do is build a wall around the U.S and Mexico. This wall will cost millions, maybe even billions of dollars, yet Trump has not elaborated on how it will be paid for. He has said he will get Mexico to pay for it and that he has a plan to do it, but nobody knows what that is. This
He wants to put up a wall in order to secure our nation. Article I; Section 8; Clause 4 of the Constitution reads, “The Congress has the power to establish a uniform Rule of Naturalization.” Naturalization is the process by which an immigrant becomes a U.S. citizen. If Trump puts up a wall, people have no way of becoming a legal immigrant which is saying that they are not worthy of that even though other people have been in the past. This situation goes against the principal of government stated in the Declaration of Independence saying “that all men are created equal”. Plus, if Trump did become president, in order to even make this happen he would have to follow the principle of popular sovereignty which is implied by the first three words of the Constitution saying “We, the people” in terms of popular sovereignty meaning the government's right to rule comes from the people. As focused in on, Donald Trump's view on immigration is
In the 2016 Presidential election, both candidates had distinct outlooks on immigration reform. Hillary, was committed to the immigrants' rights community where as, Trump was more focused on enforcing stronger immigration laws. Hillary Clinton's position on immigration reform was to be devoted to the nations incoming immigrants.
Donald Trump’s views on immigration have been a part of who he is since the beginning. When Trump announced his presidential bid in 2015, he focused mostly on the issue of immigration. While the media can easily exaggerate speeches from presidential candidates, it is clear that Trump means what he says. Donald Trump’s presidential bid is a clear example of how he views immigration.
President Trump's goal is to rid the entire nation of undocumented immigrants(Calabresi et al, 2016). Trump plans to send immigrants back to Mexico to wait out the immigration process(Kulish et al, 2017). However, Mexico did not approve of this plan. Trump is trying to pawn a U.S. problem on another country, and it is causing tensions to rise. Trump also plans to use expedited removal of illegal Mexican immigrants. This means he plans to deport people without a judge as extensively as the law will allow it in order to prevent back log of immigrant cases(Kulish et al, 2017). By preventing illegal Mexican immigrants from obtaining the necessary wages in order for their families to be financially stable, the Mexican economy will only plummet more. These people will continue to live in poverty, and the incentive will be even higher to illegally immigrate to the U.S.. It also creates the problem for the U.S. with a lack of a blue collar workforce population for the service economy and agriculture. He also plans on expanding the program 287(g) which, from 2013-2016, led to over 175,000 deportations(Kullish et al, 2017). The program was able to deport so many people because it used racial profiling. The U.S. has come so far in civil rights and liberties just to stigmatize Mexican Americans as illegal immigrants. The only beneficial thing Trump has done in his immigration policy is leave DACA alone.
On the other hand, Hillary Clinton wants to use tax money to invest into creating more jobs. She wants to target the millennials be making college cheap, so that kids will want to go to school without worrying about having loans to pay back. She also wants to increase the minimum wage to $15 and hour. She thinks that doing this will make more people work because they will be able to afford to
