President Donald Trump Donald Trump has made a mockery of the presidential race. A president should be respectful, open-minded, and professional. He has shown to have none of these qualities. Electing Donald Trump as the United States’ 47th president would transform the U.S to be a country that promotes hatred, violence, and incivility. Over the course of the presidential race Trump has demonstrated his disdain for certain groups of people. Shortly after announcing his run for presidency he declared that Mexicans are rapists and are bringing crime (Crane-Newman). According to Trump it is alright to generalize an entire group of people by the actions of a few. He has not only shared to the world his unpleasant thoughts about Mexicans, but …show more content…
He embraces the use of torture techniques, such as waterboarding, against members of ISIS. Although these people do commit evil acts, torturing will not necessarily get the truth out of them. Going through with this would produce consequences. At his rallies protestors are being attacked by his followers. “In October there was Ariel Rojas, a Hispanic protestor who was dragged to the ground and kicked in Trump’s ballroom in Doral” (“See the Violence Against Protestors at Donald Trump Rallies”). He does not condone any of the actions made by his followers, but “offered to pay the legal fees of his fans who beat up protestors” (“See the Violence Against Protestors at Donald Trump Rallies”). Trump told his followers “You can do anything […] and I’m still going to love you” (“See the Violence Against Protestors at Donald Trump Rallies”). The fact that Trump sees nothing improper with Americans fighting amongst each other signifies a big issue with …show more content…
In one event he implied that debate moderator, Megyn Kelly was giving him a hard time because she was menstruating. “You can see blood coming out of her eyes,” he said, “Blood coming out of her wherever” (Crane-Newman). On April 16th of 2015 he tweeted, “If Hillary Clinton can’t satisfy her husband what makes her think she can satisfy America” (Crane-Newman)? This was an extremely inappropriate comment that had nothing to do with politics. In another attack on Clinton he proclaims her bathroom break during the Democratic debate to be “disgusting” (Crane-Newman). The most sickening action committed by Donald was when he decided to ridicule a disabled reporter, Serge Kovaleski, by jerking his arm in front of his body at a rally (DelReal). America does not need disrespect to be a trait associated with it due to Donald
Trump has put into his campaign. He has brought Islamophobia to a whole new level feeding off of our citizens fear of another terrorist attack on American soil. Trump stated that America needs “a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States.” He defended this statement by saying those who believe in Jihad pose a threat to our nation (Chavez, Paola). His comments about Muslims has stirred communities to fear their Islam practicing neighbors without a legitimate reason. Trump has caused much of society to belittle the African American race with his uneducated rhetoric. Trump has stated, “There’s no such thing as racism anymore. We’ve had a black president so it’s not a question anymore. Are they saying black lives should matter more than white lives or Asian lives? If black lives matter, then go back to Africa? We’ll see how much they matter.” However, we all know racism exists and always will, no matter how hard we try to rid it from our society. To attempt to gain the African American vote in a speech he says “You’re living in poverty, your schools are no good, you have no jobs, 58% of your youth is unemployed -- what the hell do you have to lose?” Donald Trump obviously as no issue talking badly of minority races especially Mexicans. Trump himself has labeled Mexican immigrants as criminals, rapist, and killers. His uneducated statement set off those of
Since the start of his campaign, Trump has offended many different individuals groups of people.
He told his followers to stop hating on them and be kind, but Trump sure has not changed his attitude of not taking the blame and seeing himself as very knowledgeable. He does this because no longer is he trying to get very conservative republicans to vote for him. Now, he is trying to be a president for the whole country including all races, minorities, and genders. He does this again by saying he would not try to repeal gay marriage;it was decided on it and he is going to leave that alone. Just by stating his stances on these issues, he has become less of the super conservative right side of the spectrum Trump that we knew from before. Although his stance on immigration is almost identical to before, I believe his rhetoric is just more peaceful to appeal to a larger audience and say that he thinks a lot of immigrants are terrific people, but just wants to secure our country and borders. You can definitely tell that after the election has subsided his nature to defame and attack Hillary has slowly come to a halt by saying that the Clinton’s are good people and most likely he won’t follow through with a full search on her emails. Acting outlandish like this and calling her crooked Hillary was a ploy of his
I myself do not associate with the typical Republican Party values, however I bring myself to appreciate certain aspects of candidates. While I see plenty of comments on republican candidates, Donald Trump more often than not, it was at least an informative and interesting experience if not tolerable to see these opinions the American public has formed in action. Trump, for example, does not mince his words. While blunt truth may seem intimidating, at least he is one to speak his mind. However, his comments heavily outweigh an honorable character. One of the most offensive of details, which was brought up in a question rather than by Trump himself, was framed around him being offensive to women. There have been accounts of him calling women on twitter “fat pigs, dogs, slobs and disgusting animals” on the basis of looks. On top of direct insult, Trump allegedly made sexually harassing comments on twitter, too. While a few of these questions have
He just recently asked why the US makes nuclear weapons if they are not going to use them. His lack of knowledge is what leads to this dangerous rhetoric. He genuinely believes that a larger percentage of Muslims and/or refugees are likely to be terrorists than the actual percentage. He has gone as far to say that Mexicans are “criminals” and “rapists” and that all of the illegal ones will get deported, and he’s also proposed a “temporary” ban on Muslims from entering the country. Trump faced a lot of backlash for the temporary ban and has since said it was just a “suggestion.” This lack of empathy and understanding of other cultures alone makes Trump unfit to be commander-in-chief, but the hatefulness in his words is just uncalled for. Funny enough, if all illegal immigrants were deported, the economy would actually be hurt as well. As much as people should come into the country legally, a lot of the illegal immigrants work very tough hours and for very little money. If they were to all be deported, no one would be working those odd, tough, unfair jobs, especially not the white people who complain about the Mexicans taking jobs. So, although illegal immigration is not something to support, putting forth policy that makes it easier for these people of Mexican heritage to become legal citizens should be something to support, and that is exactly what Obama has been working towards and what Hillary plans to continue to work
Donald Trump is the kind of person who doesn’t even think before he speaks and feel as if he has the authority to say whatever pleases him. He speaks negatively about immigrants calling them criminals, rapists, and killers. In addition to this, he called his followers passionate after he was told that two men beat a Hispanic man in his name. However, not only is he blaming Mexicans for violent crimes, he is blaming Blacks as well and being antagonistic toward the Black Lives Matter Movement.
(Berman). Hispanics aren’t the only that Trump has attacked, he believes that “he would consider requiring Muslim-Americans to register with a government database or carrying a special identification card,” (Obeidallah), which many have expressed that it mimics laws that the Nazis used against the Jews. While Trump hasn’t broken any law expressing his opinion about other races, he does express his ideas of deporting immigrants and building a wall to keep them out of the country and stereotyping every race. Trump proposed to “stop immigration from any nation that has been compromised
“For many years, Mexico’s leaders have been taking advantage of the United States by using illegal immigration to export the crime and poverty in their own country (as well as in other Latin American countries)” (Trump 1). He makes statements that diminish immigrants, forcing them all to look like horrible people, who must be kicked out. “...roughly 1.6 percent of immigrant males age 18-29 are incarcerated, compared to 3.3 percent of the native-born” (Ewing, et al). This quote shows there are double the amount of native born men as opposed to immigrant males in our nation’s jails. In fact, “...immigrant youth who were students in U.S. middle and high schools in the mid-1990s and are now young adults have among the lowest delinquency rates of all young people” (Estevez 1). Thus, immigrants are not all, “rapists,” or “bringing drugs and crime,” into our country, as Trump wants us to believe. While the proclamation that all Mexican immigrants are criminals are racist, and unsupported. He also wants to change the constitution; the writing this nation was built on, to suit his personal desires and pander to a segment of
Here is a little rundown on what I have learnt about Trump through specific research and generally how he is depicted over social media, news and current affairs program. Donald Trump appears to be misogynistic, sexist, racist, xenophobic, islamophobic, transphobic and homophobic just to name a few. His bigotry is overwhelming and outstanding. This might appear to be impertinent and rather judgmental, however it is justified with an overwhelming amount of evidence. However, today I will primarily be focusing on islamophobia.
Donald Trump’s views on illegal immigration were very different from Hillary Clinton’s to say the least. Trump wants to detain and deport immigrants immediately who are caught crossing the border illegally. Along with the detaining and deporting he wants to inforce, he also wants to end birthright citizenship which means if a child of an illegal immigrant is born in the states he or she will not be granted a United States citizenship. Trump wants to defund sanctuary cities where police officers protect illegal immigrants by not contacting the immigration officials about the undocumented immigrants they come in contact with. He has the determination to build a wall on the Mexico-U.S. border to keep immigrants from crossing into the United States. According to www.businessinsider.com, Mexico will pay for the wall which would cost between five billion and ten billion dollars. Even with the possible building of the wall to keep immigrants out of the states, Trump wants to triple the amount of the Immigration and Enforcement officers from five thousand to fifteen thousand. He also wants these specific officers to collaborate with local police officers on gang raids that target the undocumented individuals who could possibly be involved with gangs. Looking back at his previous campaign proposals toward immigration, it has easily been noticed that Trump has gone “soft” when talking about deportation of the illegal immigrants. When it comes to muslim immigrants, Trump wants to issue a complete shutdown so they cannot enter. According to www.businessinsider.com there is reasoning behind Trump calling the shutdown of muslim immigrants, “Follwoing the San Bernardino shootings, shifted to a temporary ban applied to immigrants with “a proven history of terroris,” then linked Syrian refugees to
“Boom...”, the atomic bombs hit the ground. People cried, ran, bellowed for help, but they could not escape from being vaporized by the massive power of this nuclear weapon. Casualties are inevitable in wars, but casualties can be reduced. Throughout the history, one of the most massive destructive actions was when the United States dropped atomic bombs on the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan.
Donald Trump is a well-known billionaire and the owner of Trump Industries, he is also known for very discourteous and profound comments toward many races, topics, people, and subjects. Trump is currently running as the Republican candidate for the upcoming presidential election in November. During a presidential announcement speech in June, Trump mentioned the immigration issue about strengthening the border between the United States and Mexico and how millions of people from Mexico have already crossed the border because of the lack of security. This quote that Donald Trump said about the Mexican population would most likely be considered as extremely offensive toward the Latino population living in America and also most of the population
This Women’s Day advertisement inspires Women to become the person they dream of being. Alluding to the timeless fairy tale “The Frog Prince” with a toy frog wearing a crown, the ad plays on youthful innocence. The classically magical tale recounts the events of a girl who is not suited for royalty becoming a princess, which a majority of American and British women were exposed to in their youth. Therefore, the frog is a happy reference to a time period that every woman has had or will have where they relate to the girl in the story and feel capable of becoming a “princess”. Because fairy tales never follow the “prince” or “princess” in the story after becoming such the responsibilities and life is left to the interpretation of the reader. This promotes imagination in children and may nostalgically remind Women of the previous ambitious of their childhood.
Many of Trump’s obsessive tendencies can be traced back to his childhood, where he grew up with an overbearing father, who also happened to be a successful real estate mogul. Trump’s upbringing with his family had a long term influence on his development of OCD-like tendencies.
All societies behave in a different way towards two sexes and distinguish two genders. Through innumerable indications, we are taught that men and women are different. In everyday life, it is commonly assumed that men are more aggressive than women. Statistics indicate that males are more likely than females to commit such crimes as murder, armed robbery, and aggravated assault which are the result of feeling aggressive. In addition men describe themselves as being aggressive to a greater extent than do women and show greater potential for acting aggressively. All of these assumptions lead us to a certain question: Why are human males more aggressive than females? Actually, there are two
