APA format appears to be one of the simpler ways of citing references in my personal opinion. Plagiarism is a very scary word to me. For this reason, I plan to keep a copy of the APA Quick Guide within a hands reach at all time when working on an assignment. I feel it will be to my benefit to read over the APA Quick Guide each week in order to keep it fresh in my mind and I plan to do exactly that. I have also downloaded a copy of the APA template to assist in formatting. I am going to use in-text citations for references as well as full references at the end of my essays. Bethel's online library will make it easier to find sources and reference material. It is very important to give credit to sources and the APA format is a very clear way of doing that. Other writing formats that I have used have not been as easy and writer friendly. I am confident that with the APA format I will be able to do my work correctly.
As with anything in life there are always exceptions. I am sure that there will be circumstances that will arise that I will be unsure how to reference. However, I do find the APA format to be is the simplest format to me. I am going to keep my APA Quick Guide handy because I am sure I will need guidance and it is comforting knowing help is only a phone or email away. I look forward to using this
The only documentation needed this semester was the APA paper. During the semester, I learned about self plagiarism where an essay may only be submitted to one assignment. With the works cited page, I used a citation machine called easybib that did all of the work for me. All I had to do was double check the citations with the purdue OWL. Due to the APA paper, I learned how to cite APA style and cite peer reviewed journals correctly (8-9).
I agree with you, MLA was once upon a time the only style the I knew. I will be just like you always going to revisit the APA section in our library. I still hit some roadblocks but I would have to say our professor would be the best way to clear up all questions, or better yet lead you in the best direction to solve the issue.

In the event that I run into a situation that I cannot find the information I am looking for, I will also use the Purdue Owl, APA format. There are certain situations that we do not encounter on a regular basis and this is a preventative strategy in the event I am not certain about something. I like the Purdue Owl because it is more detailed as far as the instructions go. It is just easier for me to use when I am not certain about something.
When I first introduced to the APA format by another class agenda, I was lost when it came to internal citations and the reference page. Admittedly, I have been utilizing a writing tutor that Kaplan offers for academic support, located in our student portal under the tab under the tab My Studies.
The fact that Bethel University has a policy that requires all students to use APA formatting is the right approach to ensure we are giving the appropriate credit to those professionals who research and developed the materials. I agree with you that it will help us be more consistent in our approach when we must research for those reputable sources when creating our class assignments. This process will also ensure that we do not plagiarize our materials. I will most likely cite too often in the beginning just to be safe.
This may require efforts on my part to get assistance and use all resources available to proof read my work and remember to use the spell check tool prior to summiting my responses and written assignments. I find a very useful tool the PowerPoint presentation by the instructor titled “Pitfalls to Avoid in Writing.” Another useful source is the slides provided as part of week one materials on APA Citation Information and Creating Reference Pages in the APA Format. They are both easy and quick sources of information. A program that I still need to incorporate in my work is PERRLA. Again, this is another one of those bumps on the road that I am determined to jump successfully.

I utilized MLA reference style on account of it's exceptionally recognizable and simple for me to utilize as opposed to APA style.
