In the Sophocles’ play Antigone the character Antigone is very different than Creon in many ways. Antigone and Creon had their fair share of arguments and fighting. Antigone and Creon’s conflicts contribute to the development of Creon as a tragic hero. In the Sophocles play Antigone, the play is about the aftermath of a civil war. Oedipus sons Eteocles and Polyneices, kill each other. Creon then tried to punish Polyneices for his disloyalty by not burying him correctly. Creon and Antigone argue because Creon does not believe that polyneices should be buried, but Antigone defies the law of Creon and buries Polyneices anyways.
