Background Information The Diary of Anne Frank is a diary of a Jewish girl named Anne. Anne got this diary for her birthday shortly after they went into hiding. She refers to her diary as Kitty. Anne’s family then goes into hiding during World War Two to avoid the Nazis with another family. Anne hides in this secret annex in Amsterdam with seven others until after two years they are discovered and get sent to concentration camps. After the war, Anne’s dad, Otto Frank, goes searching for his family until he is told that they all died. He is then given Anne’s diary and is moved by her writing because he never saw this Anne before. Shorty after reading her diary, he then publishes it, and since then it has became a very well known novel. Because there are three different versions of this diary, students should know from the start of the lesson, that this is not a direct copy of Anne’s diary. This book has many advantages as to why it places at an educational value. When learning about different types of wars students just see the numbers of people killed or survived, they learn the background information of a soldier, general, or leader, and

Some parents, educators, or even students may feel that this certain book or topic of WWII may be too much for eighth graders to handle. For example, some may feel that it is too severe in learning about the reality of what happened to many Jews in concentration camps and gas chambers. Another instance could be that students have an emotional response in which their parents do not agree with or want to deal with. I remember many students in my class being very emotional after we discussed more about Anne and what took place in Germany. Some parents may not think educators should teach a book that can cause so much emotion in a
Anne Frank was a Jew during World War Two, at that time Anne and her family were in hiding for 2 years. She wrote a diary about her time in World War Two. After in hiding for the 2 year, the Frank's were captured and sent away. Anne Frank passed away in one of the camps, leaving her diary in the hands of her father. Otto Frank was the only survivor of all the families in hiding with him. He later gifted the diary to the World War Two memorial museum. In her diary, Anne stated that, "In spite of everything, I still believe people are really good at heart." Why would she feel that way towards everyone at that time, even the people who wanted her dead?
Jews have perished because of their beliefs since the beginning of time but never have so many Jews been persecuted worldwide as they were in World War II. Anne Frank’s diary reaches a place within all of our hearts because it reminds us how easily the innocents can suffer. Sometimes we may choose to close our eyes or look the other way when unjustifiable things happen in our society and Anne’s tale reminds us that ignorance, in part, claimed her life. Sadly, her story is but one of many of those who died in the Holocaust and as with other Jews, her fate was determined by the country she lived in, her sex and her age.
People can only imagine the terrors that the Jews and other ethnic groups had to go through during the Holocaust in World War II. With Anne Frank’s diary, people can finally put themselves into the scene and captivate all the feelings and sentiments that Anne Frank has poured onto the pages. Anne Frank, her family, and their friends were known for hiding from the German Nazis in the Secret Annex for two years from 1942-1944. Innocent and naive,
Anne Frank was a young, Jewish girl who lived during the time of the Nazi Regime. She, along with every Jew, suffered from the Nazi's Anti-Semitic laws, and the Franks were forced into hiding. They were able to hide for two years, until they were discovered and sent to concentration camps. Before, she documented her time in hiding in a journal which revealed her true self and the reality around her. By reading Anne's diary, we can identify the major events and influences that helped shape her life and identity.
The diary Anne Frank wrote during hiding, impacts and connects many to the
In the first chapter of the Diary of Anne Frank, from dates June 14, 1942, to July 9, 1942, she starts to first talk about naming her diary “kitty”(page 3). She then goes on to talk about how she enjoyed her last weeks of freedom and why her father decided to go into hiding. This was all started when the family received a letter requesting the presence of her “sister in a concentration camp” (page 16). Her father realizes it 's a trick to put her into a concentration camp and forces them into the secret rooms behind the bookcase where Anne family and friends would begin hiding. These first few entries are staring to describe the family 's struggles and how joyful and willing Anne really is.
Anne Frank was a German Jew forced to go into hiding with her family and another during World War II and the HOlocaust. Being Jewish in that time she put her and her family in danger constantly. A month before she went into hiding, Anne was a happy, pretty, and bright girl despite her circumstances. On her 13th birthday (a month before they went into hiding) she got a many gifts but the one that stuck out to her was a diary. Her father Otto Frank was a successful, Jewish businessman, who also seemed to understand Anne better than anyone else. Otto married her mother, Edith Frank 1925. One year later Margot, her older sister, was born. Three years after that in 1929 Anne was

Many people are aware of the Holocaust, World War 2, Hitler, and Jews but some people don’t know the full story of what happened. Anne Frank and her family are forced into hiding during the Holocaust. Before they go into hiding Anne is given a diary. As they are in hiding she writes in her diary. They are in hiding for 25 months.
The Holocaust was one of history's most tragic events to occur. Millions upon millions of Jews lost their lives at the hands of people who did not want them there any longer. One of the Jews whom died, Anne Frank, said that “ In spite of everything, I still believe people are really good at heart.” Even though she and her family and friends were forced to go through such terrible things, she was still able to look past them all, and see the positive outcome in everything. Anne Frank was one of history’s best models for optimism, and as for myself, I agree with her quote. After reading The Play of the Diary of Anne Frank, I see that Mr. Frank himself is a good example for this. However, I know there is another side to this argument, so I can see how someone might disagree with me on the quote. One of the reasons I agree with Anne is because she, herself, was kind to the people around her, no matter what. However, someone could say Mrs. Van Daan is a good example to disagree with this quote.

"The Diary of Anne Frank" tells us a story about how her life as a Jew was drastically changing during the Holocaust and the start of World War II (WWII). Her father who was a World War I fighter hid his family and friends in a Secret Annex that was blended in with a normal neighborhood. As she lived for months in the Secret Annex, Frank had written her diary, full of her experiences in the Annex. Everything changed though, when she reached the end of her times in the Annex. Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl, was a simple gift Anne had received for her thirteenth birthday from her loving father.
