By the title of this Huffington Post, it is so shocking to see how something like this could happen. The Air Force is a representation of this nation and is expected to operate efficiently to protect the U.S. citizens. When Devin Kelley was serving in the Air Force, he was charged of domestic assault against his wife and stepson but was released with a bad conduct discharge. The Air Force failed to report this charge into the National Criminal Information Center database that would have prevented him from passing the background check and would have been denied buying a firearm. With that said, who’s fault, is it?
Academy Sports + Outdoors was the sporting goods store where Kelley purchased the firearms used in the mass shooting in Texas. A spokesperson for the sporting goods store stated that the sales were approved by the National Instant Criminal Background Check System. The employee followed the procedures required by federal law, which allowed them to complete the transaction

The Air Force is only a fraction of the U.S. Military organization and information is poured in the database at a rapid rate. This could have been a small mistake and the Air Force just simply lost Kelley’s information. Although, the article mentioned Kelley was accused of pointing a loaded firearm at this wife, and again the charge was dismissed. Where are the ethical values of the Air Force deciding this charge wasn’t important enough? If the Air Force was aware of Kelley’s violent behavior and could potentially be violent in the society, then his criminal profile should be red flagged and on high alert. A head was turned, and nothing was done to ensure Kelley could never perform the act that he did. Should there be more regulations implemented for reporting domestic violence by the U.S. Air Force? Society relies on the military to protect them and to do their best for the common good. The Air Force failed the nation and put their citizens at

In life there are heroes and villains, in most stories told throughout time the hero is the savior, the person who protects the people from the bad guy: the villain. Villains are the guys who do the most dastardly deeds, the ones who don't care who gets hurt in the crossfire of their actions. There is however, a fine line between being a hero and being a villain. Chris Kyle is one of those people who arguably crossed the line between being a hero and villain to both the American and Iraqi people. Many people would say Chris Kyle is the ultimate American hero, and others would say that he was used by corporate military leaders to do the deeds no one else could, that he was simply a machine. In America he was claimed to be a hero, while insurgents in Iraq called him the "Devil of Ramadi" earning him a bounty on his head ("Chris Kyle American Sniper").
If I could be anyone in the world, I would want to be someone who lives life to the fullest. They would also need to be someone that doesn't take things too seriously and never has a dull moment in life. That is why I would want to be Brett Cue. He has so much talent on a dirt bike even though he isn't considered pro. However, that is why I would want to be him. He gets to ride his dirt bike wherever and however he wants and gets paid to do it.
Throughout history, the United States Military has faced numerous scandals. From its role in the Vietnam War, to the Iran-Contra Affair, to the Iraq War, to the abuse and denial of due process rights to detainees currently held indefinitely at the detention center at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba; the Department of Defense has undeniably raised many questions about its ethics and treatment toward both civilians and fellow members of the Armed Forces alike. One recent scandal, which would now appear to be becoming the standard, is that of sexual assault within the military. However, due to a campaign of awareness, grassroots activism, and pressuring elected officials to do what is right, things are now beginning to change.

In the past, military news typically evolved tragic training incidents or deaths during overseas combat. However, over the last several years many incidents involving military personnel and sexual assault have made headlines across the United States. Military women and men have brought to light the lack of justice for victims of sexual assault, and the prevalence of such attacks. Questions arise as to why victims do not report incidents or seek assistance when they are physically or sexually assaulted. Many reasons are due to how the system of reporting is established within the military, retaliation and further re-victimization within the chain of command. Modifications to the current system have begun within the Department of Defense and
The firearms that were used in the attacks were two nine millimeter hand guns and two twelve gauge shotguns. They had sawed off the barrels and the butts of the guns to make them easier to carry and conceal while walking into the school. Eric and Dylan used the internet to make ninety nine improvised devices that were all different in size and design. With all of these things that they had done they had already committed many felonies prior to the massacre. Eric and Dylan obtained these firearms from a local gun show. They had gone to the show the day before and were turned away because of their age. Determined to buy the weapons they Eric and Dylan found an older boy to buy the shot guns for them his boy worked at the pizza shop with them. Also they had purchased the hand guns through a person that they had met at work also. Later this person was prosecuted for selling a firearm to an underage person. The semi automatic hand gun was bought for five hundred dollars.
The Colonels argument has the purpose of showing the family that Sasha receiving a punishment will not backfire on the family by stating “ The honor of the army is is more precious to us than any other honor, yet we don't screen our guilty members, but condemn them. And does the honor of the army suffer in consequence? Quite the opposite!" The only name that would be soiled is Sasha’s.
