Throughout the world, there are thousands of individuals who suffer from the challenges of poverty which include homelessness and hunger. These are not recent issues, but issues which have been developing for years. Through households and towns in the Unites States and abroad these issues seem to always be second on the agenda. However for one congressman, George Thomas (Mickey) Leland, this was not the case. Leland was able to raise attention to the issue through his career. Although he faced criticism from the politicians around him, he never stopped fighting for the cause he believed in, as he became a martyr to eradicate world hunger. When individuals turned away from poverty and hunger Leland coarsely raised attention for the cause even if it would cause him his life.
Last week I became disgusted listening to Mr. Owens talked about how well USPTO is doing using DEVOPS and Agile on a system called FPNG. What he did not tell you is that his staff has only a minor role because the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) does not have any confidence in him and most of the development falls within the CFO. Are you tired of the lies told by the CIO, the misdirection, the arrogance? As leaders why do allow the CIO to continue the biggest fraud, waste and abuse scheme in the federal government.

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the stages in development of someone that I know. Describing the continuous and discontinuous development that is occurring at various stages of their young and middle child life span. In each section of my paper I plan to include specific subsections on the biosocial, cognitive, and psychosocial development of my chosen subject. This chosen subject will be my eleven year old sister, Faith Elizabeth Lattimore. Faith is currently developing in her early years of middle childhood. Piaget describes middle childhood as the time for concrete operational thought, characterized by new logical abilities about direct experiences and perceptions.(Berger, 2011, p. 319). Faith loves to sing,
What is true of history? “God cannot alter the past, though historians can.” Samuel Butler. Samuel Butler was a 19th century author famous for his Erewhon and prose translations. This quote demonstrates what is true of history because it shows that history is only what we, as humankind, choose to remember and how we choose to interpret. Historians were the people that recorded down the information of the time, many years ago. Thus if historians had any particular bias that would be reflected in their writings; however, if there are no other sources, these writings are taken to be true and thus biased incorrect information is passed along through time. This applies more to ancient history, where few texts survived and only few were literate

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle is the British writer and physician who created the famous detective Sherlock Holmes. He portrays Holmes so be the smartest and most effective detective in London, England. Holmes was a character very much of his time and place, who appealed to British readers directly by confronting the messy, changeable world they live in (Long). Most people in today’s time are still fairly familiar to such a strongly created character even though his mystery stories were written around the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. Doyle got his inspiration for Holmes from his professor, Joseph Bell, the famous Scottish lecturer who taught at the medical school of University of Edinburgh. Doyle’s most famous book was “The Hound of the Baskervilles”, written in the early 1900’s. Which is a mystery where everyone thinks a ghostly, killer-like dog, which has haunted the Baskerville family for generations, killed Sir Charles. This is just one of the

Service learning experience helped and brought awareness for me to get ready for the senior year field internship. I learned a lot during the semester by working with the Church World Service (CWS). It was not an easy volunteer service. CWS had provided a lot of experiences, I feel a lot of changes and progress in my professional skills. For example, time management, planning, asking for help and developing professional skills as a social worker student and learner.
