The security footage revealed that there were two armed robbers wearing jeans with long sleeve shirts and black ski masks. It appears that they approached the armored car with AK 47’s and P30 police special pistols. There were two bank workers loading the armored truck with 10 million dollars worth of gold bars, one of the men that was loading up the truck with the gold bars was the driver. The other worker walked away after securing the gold bars and went into the bank to let them know they were leaving. He then was going back to the truck when he noticed that there were two armed robbers. He was too late to get to his partner because when the driver of the truck was walking towards the truck, the armed robbers jumped him knocking him out with one of the guns; they stole the keys, hoped in the truck and sped away. The other man called for help and went to his partner. There were a few witnesses that saw the crime and notified the bank. The bank notified the police department. The police realized at this point in time that they needed an expert at this crime scene and that is when they called Detective V. On July 6, 2015, at approximately 1147 hours, I responded to 3706D Mt Vernon Ave, The Meter Wizard LLC for a robbery from person. Upon arrival, I spoke to Mr. Robert S. Cohen the victim in this case. Mr. Chon reported that a dark skinned black male entered his business and displayed a handgun. The suspect only said “give me your money”. Mr. Cohen gave the suspect his wallet and 9 dollars cash. The suspect ran through the alley in an unknown direction of travel.
This is the location where the robbers first entered and started to fire. Both robbers made an illegal withdrawal at the bank and held people hostage inside the bank’s volt. One of the bank’s personnel was held at gunpoint and forced to fill up a duffle bag with money from the volt. They caused thousands and thousands of dollars of damage to the bank. The parking of Bank of America would be a crime scene as well, this is the area in which multiple police officers and civilians were shot and injured. In this location there were approximately 50 police officers involved in the shootout. The residential area in which both robbers lead officials would be another crime scene. Here both individuals were gun downed and killed. Phillips one of the armed robbers was killed by a semi-truck after his AK 47 failed on him and he used a small pistol to fire back at officers. Mătăsăreanu was shot multiple times in the middle of a street, in which later caused his

Defense counsel has asked this Court to compel the government to disclose the Forensic Peer Review dated August 5, 2014, from the government’s digital evidence file. Defense counsel asserts that the requested document is discoverable under Brady because the document will provide impeachment evidence of the test results obtained by Digital evidence examiner, Gregory Norman (“Norman”) using the Lantern v4 tool. To support its’ contention, defense counsel notes that there is no distinction between exculpatory and impeachment evidence for purposes of Brady disclosure requirements. See Bagley, 473 U.S. 667; Kyles, 514 U.S. at 433 (citing there is no “difference between exculpatory and impeachment evidence” when it comes to the prosecutor's duty
When you see the shows such as Homicide Hunter or Killer Instincts many times my mom and I try to figure out who is the murder. Most of the time my prediction is right because of the details my mom misses, and putting together all the clues. From then on I realised I had a gift, even if it was I was just watching television show. That is what sparked my interest the criminal justice area. I have contemplated the career choices that would best fit my interest leaving me with Homicide Detective and Criminologist. While both careers deal with criminal justice they differ greatly in the type of work environment, pay, skills/education.
There is a fine line between upholding the law and Breaking it. Temptation looms at every successful drug delivery, and with every laundered, dirty dollar that the fingers touch. Assistant Prosecuting Attorney, Rowena Kinney knows this better than most anyone. The youngest and only female Prosecutor in Rock Island County. She has tried and convicted members of every organized crime syndicate East of the Mississippi. From small-time Columbian drug smugglers to Gambino Family capo Nicholas Corozzo himself. Hard as nails, legal to the letter, but damned good at what she does, and better case winning record then any man who sat in her seat. Five years in the prosecutor 's office, and has won 101 case convictions, and 2 losses, when long-time friend, Chicago detective, Dominic Pizzona went undercover for the FBI to gather intel for a RICO bust involving all 5 infamous La Coka Nostra Families. Months pass and she begins to see changes in him. They have spoke weekly or better their whole lives, he has gone weeks! His temper has flared toward her more times since he went in then ever in 33 years, uses street slang regularly in their conversations and has skipped his coveted family leave days for 4 consecutive weeks. Now he is missing off the FBI 's grid and they all fear he has traded his wedding ring and badge to be a made-man
After eating we went to this store that was burglarized and once we were there the lady knew Detective Turner because she worked a burglary there awhile ago. The video quality that they have is phenomenal you could see every feature of the suspect. You could see him putting the objects in his pants and you could even see the car he was driving, but you could not see the license plate because of the way he backed up. After we finished up at the store we went to talk to a victim who claimed he was beaten and robbed. The victim said someone broke into his house and hit him with a bat, took him to various bank locations to try to get money out of his account and then they brought him back and put him into his bathtub. He claims that the suspect beat him at another location because there was no blood or anything in his house or the bathtub. After talking to the victim we went back to the police department and Detective Turner called the victim sister and she was very nice. The victim sister told Detective Turner that his brother told her of a girl that could have done it, but once the girl called the victim his story changed instantly, so this case is getting quite interesting. The victim sister will be emailing Detective Turner some information sometime next
Cold case investigation is a growing concern due to increased numbers of unsolved cases and pop culture appeal. This paper will walk you through what a cold case investigation is, how one begins, and factors such as the use of volunteers can effect the outcome of a cold case investigation. Each year the number of unsolved cases in the U.S. goes up, but with limiting funding and lack of manning something has to be done to keep the numbers down. A dedicated cold case unit is the best answer to this problem.
In 2015, U.S. federal prosecutors disclosed cases of corruption by officials and associates connected with FIFA, the governing body of association football, futsal and beach soccer. Near the end of May 2015, fourteen people were indicted in connection with an investigation led by the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigation Division (IRS-CI) into wire fraud, racketeering, and money laundering. The United States Attorney General simultaneously announced the unsealing of the indictments and the prior guilty pleas by four football executives and two corporations.
If a murder, a homicide and or a suicide occur, the crime scene investigator(s) collects the clues and evidence that will be analyzed by the forensic scientist(s) which can lead them to their suspect(s). The purpose of a Crime Scene Investigation is to help victims find justice.
Like you see in the Crime scene investigation shows like CSI and Bones, there are many things that go into investigating shows a lot of those things happen but it takes much longer than forty or sixty minutes to solve the crime. While crime scene investigating is very serious job, collecting evidence at crime scenes requires education and knowing of what you're doing, requires hard work, and it can be difficult to perform this job.

Nothing is more crucial to any investigation than the actions of the first officers on the scene and the actions they take regarding the preservation of the crime scene, detention of witnesses and an arrest if possible. The immediate objective of the first officers on the scene must be the safety of all parties involved and all else follows
